    My Parents Condo Management Company hired them to replace a water service for my parents home. My parents are in their 80's. Live their for 20 years with no freeze ups. After Honesty Services replaced water service their pipes froze several times over the winter. Owner refuses to fix problem.

    I couldn't have asked for a better team! The work they did was impeccable and they left the work area spotless. Newt and John were timely, professional, and clearly take pride in their work. Dan, the owner, was so incredibly nice and talked through things with me every step of the way. He was so flexible about me needing to reschedule follow ups due to other factors with the reno, and even though the guys had to come back twice (once to extend water lines through the new base cabinets and a final time to hook up the dishwasher, sink, etc.), he only charged me an additional $60 for parts needed. Not even labor. Who does that? I will never use another plumber. Never.

    The team of two guys were wonderful. Put footies on and blocked off area. Walked on hardwood floors rather than carpet to haul buckets out. Explained everything and had me check throughout the process knowing I was not a happy camper to have to spend so much. Finished on time and within estimate, with transferrable lifetime guarantee. Very pleased with outcome after flash flooding in area with lots of rain in short period of time. Basement is dry. Want to add that the guys were gentlemen. I had a delivery to my doorstep of heavy shelving units they carried it in the house rather then putting it on the side, and when I arrived home with grocery bags they help me carry them inside. Certainly they didn't need to do that but worth mentioning how they went the extra mile and made it a good experience. Kuddos to you guys!!!

    Took $200 to buy faucet for bathroom, called him numerous times, texted him he kept saying he was coming, then said he would fix leaking sink for nothing. Told him no, just please come out and do the work. Texted over and over, never showed up had another plumber make repairs and asked for my money back. Same story he would bring it over and over again, never showed up. I am taking him to court for my $200.00 and court costs. Have all the text.

    I think this company is scamming customers. Right away the dude was trying to upcharge and sell a maintenance agreement. I spent a total of $272 when I should have only spent $99. I already sent a complaint to Angie's List about this issue

    Howard's Home Repair
    UPDATE 3/21/16: Virtually service we hired Howard to complete has fallen apart. The attic stairs that he "repaired" are broken again. The weather stripping on the front door is worse than what he replaced AND I've since found out from another provider that he could've replaced it with stripping that would've gone in the same location instead of leaving nails/holes in my door. The kitchen caulking has cracked even worse and the caulking he did on the bathroom sink has completely come apart - the sink isn't even connected to the base any more. What's worse is that I have since discovered his prices are super inflated and have gotten much superior work from another provider for about 1/3 of the cost. I regret ever using Howard's Home Repair. 


    First, let me say this: Working with Howard was wonderful. He's smart, he's capable, and he's pleasant to be around. The problem seems to be his wife, Jackie, who handles all of the scheduling, estimates, and reminder calls. She has zero customer service skills and made the whole process difficult and painful.
    Howard did the work listed above at the end of July. One problem was that the caulk in the kitchen cracked the day Howard was working on it. He recaulked it again and it cracked again after he left. The other problem is that when he replaced the weather stripping on the front door he left little nails from where the old weather stripping was, which is very unattractive. Everything else he did was satisfactory and we liked working with him enough to try to hire him again.
    From our initial request for more work, it took a month to get Howard out to our house to even give us an estimate. He came, looked at everything we wanted, discussed some options. He looked at the caulk and told us he would replace it with a different kind of caulk that should hold better. We have a baby on the way and I asked Howard if he could break the job into chunks in case the price tag was too high. He said, "It's not going to be a lot. Your biggest cost is going to be paint."
    Jackie sent the estimate a few days later, for almost $1,500. I don't know about you, but when you're expecting a new baby, $1,500 is most certainly a lot of money to drop in one chunk. I asked Jackie about splitting the job. She said Howard doesn't do that. I told her what he said about the job not costing a lot but that the price tag felt hefty to us. She reiterated that Howard wouldn't split the job due to it being near the end of the season and us requesting outdoor work. I acquiesced and told her to book it. She asked me to send the 50% deposit and a printout of the "agreement." I tried to download two attachments to her email and they came up as gray lines. I told her this and asked her what to print out. This was her response:
    Since we have had difficult communication with each other, Howard and I feel you might be better off by seeking another handyman for the work you need done in your home.
    Um, okay, lady. I'm so sorry I dared to ask you a couple of questions. 
    She's left us in kind of a pickle - it IS rather late in the season to find someone to do exterior work. I will also need to pay someone new to fix work that Howard was going to fix for us. And I will pay extra to make the front door pretty after the removal of the old weather stripping.
    However, my husband and I agree that NOT having to deal with Jackie anymore is a blessing. Howard, we liked. My grades for communication and professionalism aren't for him - they're all for Jackie. I'm sure she's cost him a good deal of business, and it's a shame. He's a good guy.
    This is an excerpt from what I sent Jackie in response:
    Joe and I discussed this and decided you're right - we should be working with someone else. Howard is great and we really liked working with him. You, on the other hand, are the difficult one. I don't understand why either. Customers should be able to ask questions without fear of retribution.
    So, book Howard at your own risk. If you don't mind poor customer service from the person who will be sending you estimates, collecting your money, and corresponding with  you 90% of the time, you might be okay. Otherwise, I highly recommend you to seek another handyman for your work.

    the team came by originally to fix the sump, but correctly identified that the problem could be best fixed by adding a french drain inside the basement walls.  
    My 88 yr old dad called me today, bursting with praise for the attitude, cleanliness, completeness, no-hassle, and cleanup of the job.  He is a tough cookie and curmudgeon, so praise from him is quite meaningful.
    Even little details like covering all the walking areas beforehand with cloth, and not leaving any waste in their garbage cans were a plus.

    We initially had our sewer unclogged by another provider.  After several inspections, their video camera determined that we had a root ball (of tree roots) causing an obstruction at the end of our property, where our sewer line meets the County line.  They gave us a price that we thought was rather high, so we started researching different providers.  That?s when we found Budget Rooter ? and we?re thankful that we did. 
    Everyone seemed to agree that we needed to have an outside clean-out installed to successfully remove the root ball ? which meant excavating (quite pricey).  When Jeff, from Budget Rooter came out to do the job, he went the extra mile to access the scope of work again before starting.  In the process, he located an indoor clean-out in our finished basement that was previously undetected by another provider.  It took some diligence on his part, but he was able to remove the entire root ball through that clean-out without having to tear up our lawn. 
    My husband was here during their visit and he just couldn?t say enough about Jeff?s perseverance and integrity.  A lesser company may have just started to dig ? since that?s what we had contracted for. Budget Rooter not only saved us a lot of money - they gained a grateful customer.  It?s true what their website says ? they don?t think your money should be going down your drain!

    Gale Force is great. They did the work needed and explained it to us. We have another unit that we wanted to get done that day (that we didn't plan for) but the tech explained that he had another commitment and did not want to be late to his next job. I absolutely respect this type of honesty especially when I have been held up by repairmen before. These guys are professional and very reasonable. I highly recommend them!

    Pete arrived on time and assessed both jobs. He tackled the garbage disposal first. I had already purchased a new garbage disposal, and it was designed to be plugged in. He offered me the option of rewiring the garbage disposal to hardwire, or to install an outlet under the sink. I chose to hardwire the garbage disposal like the old one had been. For the shower, I had already bought what I thought was a new kit (showerhead, controls, faucet) on eBay. It wasn't the right thing though. Pete asked me to go on one of the big box home center's website and pick out what I wanted. We checked to make sure it was in stock. He went to the store and bought everything he needed for the job, came back and installed everything. He made recommendations to me about caulking around the top of the faucet cover only, which I didn't know.
    Pete is professional and friendly. I felt very confident in his abilities. I thought the cost was very reasonable. I will definitely call Pete for my next plumbing or electrical job!
