I have had many experiences with this practice. One of the most recent experiences was when my geriatirc dog was dying. Dr. Mike was available whenever I needed him and I felt like we had done all we could.

I needed to have my dog Sammy seen by a vet ASAP, due to an injury to his left front paw. I called the Seaford Animal Hospital to see if they were excepting new patients and was immediately welcomed by the receptionist. I explained the injury and also informed her that my dog is very aggressive and is a biter. She assured me that the staff would be able to handle him in a gentle manner. I brought Sammy in right away, filled out the expected paperwork, and took a seat in the waiting area. Less than ten minutes later I was called back to the examination room by a vet tech. Again, I warned her that he bites. I fully expected her to put a muzzle on Sammy, but instead she calmly "introduced herself" to him, speaking in gentle tones and getting down to his level. I was amazed! My dog doesn't like anyone, and people usually don't like him. But within one minute this vet tech was able to pet him on the head! After taking a few minutes to get to know my dog and reviewing his health history that I had faxed from his former veterinarian's office, she informed me that Sammy wasn't up to date on his vaccinations and said that I could have them done right after the doctor finished the exam if I wished. She wasn't pushy at all, which I appreciated. When the veterinarian, Dr. Wade entered the exam room, he was just as calm as the tech had been. I told him that he probably wouldn't be able to touch my dog without muzzling him, and he said "Ok, we'll just take it slow and see how he responds." Long story short, Dr. Wade was able to complete the exam without so much as a peep or movement from Sammy! Again, I was amazed. The doctor explained to me the nature of his injury and provided me with medication to take home. Check-out was simple and fast. I was able to pay for the office visit and medications with a credit card. I also picked up flea preventative and was offered a $7 rebate check. The cost for the office visit, medications, and flea preventative was under $150, which I found to be very reasonable. Lastly, our appointment was on a Friday, and on Monday I received a call from the vet tech inquiring about Sammy's condition. She asked if the injury was healing and if he was responding to the medication okay. I also received a greeting card welcoming me to the facility and thanking me for my business. Seaford Animal Hospital is the best of the best and I highly recommend!

My dog was very happy there. He was well fed and his medications were given in the proper dosage at the proper time. The dog was happier with Janine than he was with the last person who watched him.

They are not cheap but they are thorough and excellent. They are very concerned about pets' health. They are worth the money.
