We were told 2 weeks were needed for the fan to arrive from the factory. After about 3 weeks I called office and was told that fan hadn't arrived yet. I called 2 weeks later and was grumpily advised that I would be called when fan arrived. 2 weeks later I went to office and an employee found fan in back room but refused to tell me when it arrived at Quillen. When fan was installed it was done professionally and conscientiously. So when we needed siding replaced we hired Quillen again. We gave them a key to the side door of our garage so they could store tools overnight. They also asked us for a spare sample of our siding so they could get new siding milled to match the current siding. We gave them a spare plank. They walked away from the job without telling us they had finished. They were nice enough to fix some unexpected damage that they said they would bill us for at the standard rate. They refused to give us back our key and spare siding plank. Oddly enough they refused to send us a final bill, answer phone messages or reply to e-mails. We sent then a check for the original contract amount less money we spent to have locksmith change lock on garage door.

With the old wooden rails and spindles starting to show there age and become unsafe we decided to repair and replace all of the rails and spindles. When the crew made the first visit, their trained eye noticed other issues with the supports. Not only did they listen to what we wanted to accomplish but they also provided insight as to other options which turned out to a more efficient, practical, and a more safe way to go about our upgrades. They started the day they said they were going to start and finished the morning of the day they stated and ended up waiting around for the inspector because they finished earlier than anticipated. Quality craftsmanship, attention to detail, organized job site, and timely in all work performed. Personable guys who are willing to go over and above to ensure satisfaction.

Tom Miller and his team did an outstanding job.  From contact to communications to the build the project was exemplary.  I used to be a project manager in the DC area building new homes.  I would have been proud to have these guys on my payroll.  The framing is old school excellence.  It's almost a shame it was covered up.  Minimum requirements are irrelevant.  These guys know how to frame to last generations.  The bathroom's extensive tile work is outstanding, particularly impressive given how wonky the old house is.  Tom and his team are outstanding professionals and I wish I could import them to remodel my house in Maryland.  It can be challenging to find good contractors, if you get CFS, you can be confident you have the right firm.

When we made a few changes to the original plan. I told RP That we were not in the habit of changing our minds all the time. He said "It's your house and you should have what you want." Russ was very easy to work with. Enough said!

Mr. Austin by his own admission is not a communicator. He told me he was too busy to respond to my emails and that when he got home at the end of the day he was "tired and didn't feel like responding." He worked in extreme piecemeal fashion had no schedule or organization of project and basically stopped working. The work he did was shoddy and sloppy and i now have to have it redone. I ended up being my own GC on the site and eventually fired him and found someone who was legit.

I am a senior with a background in construction.  After reviewing many contractors and speaking with some of them, I immediately knew I hit the jackpot when I spoke to Danny.

    1.  He knew exactly what I needed and wanted done when I first spoke to him.  This entailed the replacement, repair, and installation of the items listed above with attention to quality in materials, prevention of future problems, a fair price, and a commitment to starting and showing up once the job was initiated.  Danny exceeded every expectation in these regards!
    2.  I silently knew in advance manufacturers, quality and cost of exterior doors (including the french door), storm doors, door locks and deadbolts, leak-proof door sills for 6 inch exterior walls and a leak-proof barrier on the bottom of the door frames.  Without knowing of my preferences, Danny suggested the identical manufacturers and materials I had in mind.  At this juncture, we met and I hired Danny to perform the work.
    3.  I am beyond pleased with the outcome of Danny's effort on this project.  As an example of his integrity, he asked me to trust him in the design and installation of an exterior octagonal window in a bathroom.  My wife and I were literally blown away with a handcrafted symmetrical waterproof tunnel and inside wall frame he created - more akin to an artistic piece than a window.
    4. Inside work was always minimally invasive using tarps and soft shoes rather than work boots.  Outside and inside cleanup at the end of each work day was respectfully performed leaving no mess.
I would recommend Danny to anyone requiring any kind of interior or exterior installation, modification, or repair as I have seen firsthand examples of his experience, skills, and personal and business ethics.  In fact, Danny is presently working on costs to replace our roof.

I feel this company devalued my home.  Sloppy, haphazard work was performed even after showing them and telling them exactly what I wanted.  They came into our home and didn't protect the home's hardwood flooring from their boots and construction dirt and grim.  We had to give them paper and tape to cover the hardwood flooring where they would walk through the house.   I really felt that these workers didn't care about our property and we wondered how much work was being accomplished since only one worker appeared to know how to do the work.
The hardwood for the kitchen flooring was faulty, but the installer just kept nailing it in not stopping to tell us it was defective.  We happened to notice how bad it looked.  We stopped the installation.  The owner said our other room with this same hardwood looked the same and tried to find faulty seams there.  He pointed to seams that were just fine.
This company could have started to tile the master bathroom while we replaced the defective hardwood, but the owner pulled them off the job because it was raining.  (Note:  Our master bathroom is indoors and we have a 3-car garage in which to cut tile.)  Since replacing the hardwood would require letting the hardwood acclimate to our home's humidity adding another 48 - 72 hours to the installation, we decided to use tile and that day we found a suitable tile. We couldn't purchase nor pick up the tile at the store since the owner told us that he wanted to check the tile to see if it was an adequate product.  Later the owner stated that he had to pull his two workers off the job because WE caused all the delays and he needed them on another (much larger, bigger bucks) job.
While removing the kitchen island they gouged the kitchen wall, dented the wood frame around the pantry door, and put dents in the side of the cabinet on the island.  While removing their tile cutter from their truck they dented the aluminum framing around the garage door.  Tile cutter was placed on the driveway causing the driveway six weeks later to still have a white haze on it since they didn't rinse the dust and debris off effectively, even after being asked twice to do so.  By placing their tools on our kitchen counters long scratches in the counter were made.  Fortunately, we were in the process of replacing the countertops but had to live with the ugly scratches until our countertops were ready.
The tile in the kitchen was installed without tile spacers.  Another contractor came into our house and without much looking noticed the different widths to the grout lines.  The haze on this floor was not cleaned up when this part of the job was done.  They walked over the grout residue for two more days while they tiled the bathroom.  As a result, the tiles in their walk path had to be scrubbed repeatedly to get this residue off.
I took Quakertown's two tile installers into our main bath and showed them how I wanted my master bathroom tiles to be installed, with the same 1/8 inch grout lines.  None of the grout lines in the master bath is1/8 inch and they also vary in width, just like the kitchen's.  Again, no spacers were used.  The grout is not smooth.  There are ripples in it and some lines need more grout.  The tiles are not level.  I moved my foot sideways and my shoe caught the edge of a raised tile causing my ankle to turn slightly.  A section of wood trim was cut about 1 1/2 inches too short and left like that.  Since I couldn't walk on the newly grouted tiles, I didn't notice this until later.  The tile installer assured me that tiling is what he does best, and that he's been doing this for years.   Well, I've been cooking for years, but that doesn't make me a candidate for the James Beard award.
To remove the island, tile the kitchen and the master bath took ten days.  The owner said he needed these two workers for the bigger job and could not install our bedroom bamboo.  I wasn't going to let this company stay another day in my home anyway.
I don't even want to talk about the paper work.  Since we changed from hardwood to tile the price changed and a change order was not drawn up.  He said he uses Home DePot's prices, but that proved not to be the case for larger square footages.  I got scribbles of prices from his tablet and some prices were just stated, not written down.  I had to go over the numbers again to make certain we were paying the right prices.  I really feel this company should have repaired my pantry frame and my garage, but honestly, I wouldn't trust  them to sharpen a pencil for me.   Run when you see this company unless you like fast talkers and slow workers.

From the very beginning the Sales Representative was informative, professional, and courteous.  My Wife and daughter and I picked out the house we wanted and the extras we had to have.  Many of the items you would find as extras by other builders are standard with Insight  Homes.  6 inch exterior walls, energy efficient appliances, lighting, insulation and much more.
We added a large deck and a breakfast nook to the house.  From the start of construction at the end of October 2013 to closing on January 15 2014 (under 80 days) the Project Manager did an excellent job coordinating work and materials.  The end product is excellent with quality workmanship aparent.  None of the hassals you usually experience with builders.  From the beginning everything was spelled out and extras included in the contract.  No surprises, no fighting, a lot of communication from the beginning to the end.  Trully a great experience.
I would recommend this builder to anyone that is looking for a quality product at a reasonable price.

He worked very hard to stay within our budget and help us make the most of our space. It looks very nice and we can not wait to add the finishing touches to it now that it is complete. He takes pride in his work and wants to make sure his customer is happy with it too. With most contractors once you pay them you never see them again but with this contractor he has checked in on us to see how things are and if anything needs to be done/touched up or tweaked, which is usually the case in any new construction. This is very refreshing compared to past experiences. I'd recommend him to anyone and everyone.

We traded services with this contractor. For many years he parked his vehicles on our property and used our dumpster. In return for handyman services. The amount that he had accrued was approximately $10,000. He performed about $1,000 dollars in work plus we paid him for one job that I helped him with. (I have over 30 years in the construction business and I am considered very skilled at carpentry). When asked to do some work for us, he did a couple of things and considered us to be even. He always had excuses why he was late or could not show up on the scheduled time or date.
liI would never use this person again and feel sorry for anyone who does in the future. Good Luck.
