Lisa Velasco - Custom Fitness by Lisa
Lisa Velasco is amazing. I'm a fit triathlete who also lifts weight among other activities, so I went into the session thinking I'd learn a few new exercises but not be overly challenged. Wow was I wrong! Lisa pushed me harder than I've been pushed in a long time, focused on me for the entire hour (unlike at some gyms where the trainers barely pay attention), and showed me some amazing new exercises that I can also do at home or the gym. At the end of the session, my entire body was tired (in a good way) and I'd found some new weaknesses on which I can focus to make myself better, stronger, and faster. I'll definitely train with Lisa again.

When looking for karate/fitness instruction in the Dover area, the name Rigby was a familiar one. The lead instructor, Sensei Reese Rigby, has been providing personal instruction for over 30 years and offers a variety of traditional classes including Isshinryu Karate and Tai Chi, as well as cardio kickboxing and kettle bell workout classes. I have now been training in karate for six years and would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for quality instruction at a fair price. The flexible class schedule has allowed me to continue training while working and going to grad school. I have been able to maintain my strength while adding flexibility and control to every aspect of my form, and it can work for anyone that wants it. I would add that, such is with anything you do in life, you only get what you are willing to put into it. If you want to learn and progress it requires a high level of effort since belt ranks are not given, they are earned in this school.

This is a great facility. The equipment is modern, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the facility is clean. We frequently use the kids care and the caretakers are fantastic.

    Club Fitness Rehoboth
We have been members since December 2011 and use the facility an average of 5 times each week that we are in town. The monthly cost is very reasonable and there are 3 membership levels to choose from depending upon the type of services that you want. We like the variety of classes offered and the frequency. The facility is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - a huge plus as well.

    Curves - Bethany Beach
It's women only and it's a nice group of women. They offer zumba with the curves. It's a lot of fun.

The owner is very oriented to community and is trying to benefit things like breast cancer. She is very active. They are wonderful. Their availability and environment are excellent. I would use them in the future.

I joined this fitness center a few weeks ago and have been enjoying the water aerobics classes. My membership entitled me to two sessions with a personal trainer and the first session took place this morning. I was met on time and I described my past fitness experiences, a couple of physical limitations (shoulders and knee), and my present goals. My trainer listened and escorted me to the large fitness center for instruction and demonstration of the exercises she thought beneficial to my progress. In about an hour I left tired, sweaty (Grandmom would call it "glowing"!), and satisfied that I had had a good workout, a plan to continue my physical fitness routine, and a knowledgeable and attentive personal trainer to guide me further. I will make the appointment for my second session in a few weeks so my progress can be charted and for reinforcement.

To enter daily is very easy. You just scan your key tag membership card and enter the center. I dropped my two children off in the childcare center. They are wonderful. My kids are always happy to go with the staff in the childcare zone, which shows me they are cared for well, while they are there. The kids backs are labeled witht heir name for ease of identifying children and so the kids cannot pull off the tag. You do have to label all belongings and snacks/cups, ect, but that is fine. I do not want my child eating/drinking with someone elses's items. This ensures that our belongings are returned to me. There are two large windows in the center for parents to walk by and and quot;spyand quot; on the kids to make sure they are happy, etc, without the kids seeing you. I LOVE having that option. It means that the staff knows that people can see how they are interacting with the kids in the center as well. The class types that are offered vary by time of day, day, and instructor. I like having several instructors available for the same class. This way you can attend all three different instrucotr ran classes for a change up in intensity or routine, or just choose the classes you like with a particular instructor. The same instructors also teach several times a day and on multiple days. It is nice to have that option. The pool has open swim times for the whole family. The drawback is children cannot bring floatie type toys in there. they have to wear Coast Guard approved flotation devices if they want to wear one (it is not mandatory, just optional.) The reason no floties are allowed is because it obstructs the view of the lifeguard and that makes me feel fine because then they can see everyone in the pool like they are supposed to. This way everyone stays safe. Lovely place for the whole family to use at one time.

They just opened on November 15th. I didn't spend anything during my last visit because I paid for the membership a year in advance which is about $875. They are very friendly. The facility is really nice. It has two pools, a running track, a gym, 3 studios for exercise classes, weights, treadmills, a whole work out area and climbing rock wall. They have child care for kids 6 and under. The only downside is that they are still setting things up. So, our schedule tends to shift a bit from day to day, but they are working on that. They are upfront about that fact. They are doing the best they can. They have done a good research of what's needed in the area. When it comes to their availability, they are open early and quite late, 7 days a week. You have to go there and hunt down for a lot of information. I don't get updates even though they have my e-mail address. I e-mailed them with some questions before they opened and I never heard back. That maybe because they are still setting up. I just go there for the regular classes. They will actually offer physical therapy there, but not quite yet. They did a good job with the billing.

This is a great YMCA. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to help out. They set up a nice series of daily routines for me to follow. The facilities are always clean. It's always enjoyable to go there for a workout. The pool has plenty of lap lanes for swimmers to use, the gym has basketball hoops. The classes are fun, and the weight room is well stocked with different types of equipment.
