Window Replacement reviews in Newark

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • He hide behind the cross. Not honest. He was very personable. but you can not trust him or his work. We sent many messages on his answering machine. He had his son and son-in-law working with him. He come by and be ready to power wash and roof, then tried to sale you other work. The power washing was ok. He said he was going to do work but never do it. He was to installed a window but never came back. He did the gutters, down spout, gutter guard and clean the roof. The window was to be included. We selected the window and he was to order it. but never came back to the window. I will not recommend him to anybody.

  • I've always had a great experience in the many home remodeling jobs completed on our house by Bill and the crew at BLUE HEN VINYL. Quality craftsmanship shows at the completion of every job... which is why we've contracted with them (5) times over the last ten years. New vinyl siding on entire house, new roofing and gutters, new exterior windows, new exterior doors and other jobs have all been completed with our utmost satisfaction. It truly is difficult to find someone this reliable, priced competitive... and all jobs were 'Paid Upon Completion'.

  • My wife and I can't compliment the workmanship of Bill Baxter and his crew of Blue Hen Vinyl more. We've been hiring Blue Hen Vinyl for almost thirty years for various jobs. He takes on jobs that you would think are not performed by a vinyl, roofing company and he does them professionally. He does beautiful work and cleans up afterwards to where you'd never think work had been done there. Pricing is also very fair. Blue Hen Vinyl should be your first call when looking for work such as we've had done on our house. Thanks Bill.

  • High pressure sales pitch that starts with a 2 hour presentation and ends with several price drops from an outrageously expensive initial estimate. Of you like spending 3 hours just to get a quote that only last 24 hours and all but demanding the sales guy get out of your house, this company is for you. If on the other hand you would like someone to give a straight up honest estimate and let you price shop, you should avoid Window Nation like the plague. Initial estimate was $23k for 17 windows, but dropped all the way to $14 because we kept refusing to sign a contract on the spot. We even explained this was our first estimate and that we intended to get at least 3 before making a decision. And we also explained that we weren't even expecting to decide for a few months whether we were going to do windows or a different project first. Sales guy still wanted us to sign before he would leave. VERY unscrupulous sales tactics.

  • They did a high quality job with first class materials. I was very pleased. They were on time in the morning and completed the job by mid afternoon. Also they they cleaned up the areas afterwards and disposed of the old windows and frames. Will look to hire them again in the future.

  • I am a real estate agent and the Glass Guru helped my Sellers out of a tight spot. They offered an expedited service which was exactly what we needed. They were able to replace a broken window pane in 48 hours and we were able to close on time. The staff and contractors were courteous, timely, knowledgable, and clean. I would definitely recommend them to all my clients and use them again in the future! Thanks Glass Guru!

  • Kevin I arrived on time, very professional in approach and work completed. During work very friendly, quick and helpful. Promised follow-up on entry door which I have no doubt will happen very soon. Very good job on work done.

  • I'm not sure why these folks show up under remodeling at all. The person who answered the phone asked what I meant by remodeling. I said replace all windows, insulate everything, remove hanging tile ceiling and raise it up to the rafters, and install skylights. She said they only install skylights if they install the roof (despite reviews which state otherwise written here), and that they do not raise roofs. I rephrased to make sure she understood that I was not structurally raising the roof, but wanted to remove a drop ceiling and install drywall directly underneath the roof. Same answer. So despite there being multiple reviews here about them doing skylights without doing the roof, they don't do that now. And if they do, their telephone point person is costing them work.

  • We have a stucco house so we had them install flashing in several areas and were told it would prevent further leaking issues. They also replaced a window which we were told would fix that leaking issue as well. Turns out, none of this fixed our leaking issues and we recently found out from a stucco professional that the flashing was done incorrectly. Which is no surprise since the caulk they used is visibly disappearing and now holes are showing.

  • I will reiterate other reviewers in hating their sales tactics. We spent 4 hours with a salesman until he finally left because the price was still too high after adding all of their absurd discounts. (If you do work with them, just keep saying no and being hesitant and the price will keep falling.) I then got regular phone calls from them to the point that I blocked their number. After getting two other estimates for windows that weren't quite what we wanted (their windows are very nice), I answered one of their calls and they sent someone out to do a satisfaction survey on their previous representative. I knew it would be another salesman and it was. He brought the price down to something we could afford and we went with it. I do not regret that decision at all. They sent out a guy to take formal measurements before they made the windows. He discovered a couple irregularities stemming from the windows having originally been metal sliders and subsequently poorly replaced. There was no change to the contract. He just updated the measurements. When they came to install the windows, they discovered that there were still metal frames in many of the windows. This extended the project to two days and required additional materials, but it was all part of doing business and there was no change to the contract. I could not have been more relieved and I was very happy with the results. They took care of everything, left my house clean, and even worked with me as I moved my cat from room-to-room to keep him contained. I have a sliding door that will need to be replaced soon and they will be my first call.
