Exterior Contractor reviews in Manor

  • The individual sent to assess the repairs did not use a ladder and go up on the roof to check for loose shingles as I requested over the phone before he come to my home. Instead he just stood back in the yard looked up at the roof and said there were no shingles missing however, upon further investigation by another contractor I found out there were shingles missing, Also, they charged a diagnostic fee to come out and assess the damage with the promise that this fee would be reduced from the total cost of the repairs only if you chose to use them.

  • Not well at all. I'm not hard to please, I just want what I paid for. The contractor refused to do the job saying that my driveway was bigger than the square footage I paid for and that I would need to pay $73.00 more. The service I paid for was up to 1,000 sq. ft. and my driveway is 24' x 38' and a little jog in the driveway is 4' x 11'. This is 956 sq. ft. where I learned math. He pulled his guys and refuses to do my driveway now. However, Angie's list paid him already. For a service that wasn't done yet! and now I have no recourse. He has my money and Angie's List's response is "Sorry about your luck". Pavement Management of Coatesville, PA and Angie's List - my advice is stay away from both of them. Angie's List will not support you if you have an issue. This guy could have come to my house and took a crap on my front step and I have no recourse - he's been paid already!

  • Abe claimed only 1/4 of the list could be done in 8hrs time and was only interested in handling the siding issue. I left the house at 8am and returned at 1pm to find the work had been finished, so he was basically paid for less than 4hrs worth of work on an 8 hour special. I would be willing to accept that if it weren't for the fact that he used obviously used materials but charged for new ones. To make matters worse, an energy auditor that audited the house a few months later commented that whomever had put up my siding didn't install it with any backing for the siding (Tyvek). A directional wind would allow rain or snow to get inside the house due to the obvious short cut with the siding. Well months later the siding became loose and was flapping in the wind which made a tremendous amount of noise. I called Abe back and asked him to please correct this situation. He said he would come out the next day to look at it and never showed up. This went on for weeks until I threatened to call Angie’s List customer service to complain. He finally stopped by late one evening on his way from another job. I pointed out the flapping siding he had previously installed and also advised him the auditor told me there was no backing to the siding he had installed. I expected excuses and denial but what I did NOT expect was for him to say someone had stolen the nail used to hold the siding in place and then he blamed the auditor for taking it! I told him that was the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard! Why would someone put a ladder up to my house, and climb on the garage roof to steal one nail? I also advised him the auditor was never on that side of the exterior of my home, All his work was done inside my home so how could he have stolen a nail from the outside and what possible reason would he have for doing so? Abe just kept mindlessly repeating the nail had been stolen. What ticked me off even more is I live within a few minutes of several home improvement stores. The time we spent arguing about an imaginary stolen nail could’ve been spent going to the store to purchase a new nail and banging it in place, in addition to saving his reputation. I stood there in disbelief as he pulled off never to return while my siding continued to bang noisily in the wind. Needless to say I had to hire a different contractor to undo all of his inferior work and complete the job correctly. AB Contracting is a prime example of why people hate to hire contractors to do much needed work in their homes. The only reason I hired them was due to good reviews on Angies List. Good help really is hard to find. Thanks a lot Abe.

  • Over the weekend I had several pieces of vinyl siding blow off just above the 2nd floor. Advance were the only people who worked to get someone to respond ASAP, as the problem would continue to get worse if left unfixed. The technician who came was named Bill, and he couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. Aside from getting there right away, he also went the extra mile to explain why we were having the issue and helped us prevent it from happening again. I couldn't be happier with the experience from start to finish.

  • Thank you so much for this gorgeous siding. It compliments the roof you done for me last year. I've looked for many years for a style that make my home standout and now I'm beyond pleased. Let me know if you need a recommendation!

  • The overall timing of  doing work went fairly well. Did not always show up when expected. Did other jobs in between.  The work which is 2 years old has begun to come apart, retaining wall is  leaning and pavers are lifting.  Have had to  call company back repeatedly within a short period of time to fix pavers that were coming unglued(should not have been glued) and falling off landing. The response time would take weeks. Now the retaining wall is leaning pavers on the walkway  are separating and lifting  drastically and they have fallen off around the step landing. Not only is this unsightly and embarrassing but is a liability as a homeowner if someone should trip/fall. The  last time I contacted them was early April 2015  and the response  I was given  was they would come out the following week and address all issues.  It is may 15 2015  (45 days have passed)and no company representative has been in contact I have had other hardscape contractors come out to advise with them all being in agreement that the job was poorly done from the foundation to the laying of the pavers. I am seeking legal resolution.

  • It took a little time to have the skylights manufactured since they were custom, and to get permits from New Castle City - I’m in the historic district - but once they started, they worked very quickly and efficiently to complete the job. I had one problem in a driving rain – called, they came out within two hours to correct the problem and it’s been perfect since.   They were occasionally a little slow returning calls and I’m still waiting for some promised photos, but overall it was a very positive experience and I would recommend them.

  • I requested a quote and I'm still waiting for it despite repeated attempts via email to get a quote. They responded quick enough to schedule an appointment to look at the potential job, but never followed-through on the quote.  I will not even consider Fedale for my roofing project.

  • He must have been too busy.  I called 4 times and left messages. He finally called me back and we set up a date to come out for an estimate. At the last minute I wasn't sure I'd be there on time but left a message that he could come anyway to give me an estimate.  I guess he never showed as I never received any pricing and that was the beginning of May.

  • He arrived early for the appointment and started right away.  He was very easy to work with and very professional.  The 2 man crew pressure washed everything they said they were going to.  When they were done we did a walk around to see the results.  What a big change the cleaning made - no more green stuff.  The front entrance way looked like a brand new house with it's sparkling clean exterior.  I was very pleased with Shawn's work and would gladly recommend him to others.  Plus there was a coupon for $50. off Angie's list which brought my bill down and allowed me to get some extras done.
