AJ Gorman ContractingJohn Gorman found several areas where the roof was leaking and either replaced shingles or applied special sealant on roof nails that had pop thru the shingle . He also found a area that he found a soft spot on the roof removed the shingles and underlayment . he replace the underlayment with a heavier underlayment and place new shingles on top . AMG Roofing LLCMarvin, the owner of MG roofing is a pleasure to work with. Over the past few months, MG roofing has done two big jobs for us, and both experiences have exceeded our expectations. We have a ~1910 row house with a Spanish Colonial tile front roof, which was in need of some TLC. The roof was sagging around the dormer window due to some rotten wood, and many tiles were broken or missing. Marvin came out soon after receiving my request for an estimate and while he was on the roof sent pictures of the damaged areas. We met shortly after to discuss our options for moving forward, and it was clear at this time that Marvin took a great deal of pride in his work. We were looking for a contractor who was willing to work with our original structure and didn't just want to rip out the old and replace with new. Marvin understood our desire to maintain the original look of the house at price that we could afford. Marvin's team took great care to remove all the tiles from our roof, repair damaged areas of the roof, and replace the tiles, using as many of the original ones as possible. The tiles he found to supplement the originals matched beautifully. The majority of our main wood soffit was damaged beyond repair and needed to be replaced. We wanted to maintain the look of the original, requiring custom fabrication. Marvin went to one of his suppliers who quoted him a price that far exceeded what he thought was reasonable so his team did it themselves for a fraction of the cost. It looks perfect! One of the things that makes Marvin stand out from the pack is the way he stands behind his work. When the new tiles went down, there were some issues with their spacing, causing the rows to be crooked in places. Marvin immediately went back and had his team address this issue to our satisfaction without so much as a grumble. He saw the problem and immediately corrected it. We also had maintenance done to the main, flat part of our roof which went smoothly. In addition, our chimney sustained some damage following the earthquake and was in need of some tuckpointing. Marvin agreed to repair and repoint the chimney while doing the maintenance. Upon seeing the finished product, we were thrilled. Marvin didn't repoint the chimney, he rebuilt it. There was a lean to our chimney, and Marvin's team corrected this, and left us with a beautifully straight chimney. Above and beyond what we had asked for.- Anna T.

AA Parker ContractingFirst, Mr. Parker had put a new roof on our house, but we held off on new gutters. He did a terrific job with the roof, so when we were ready for gutters, he was our guy. He completed the job within a very reasonable amount of time, was very accessible by phone and email, charged a reasonable rate, and cleaned up beautifully. We even brought him back for a third job after the gutters - to replace a flat roof that we had held off on as well. We hope we don't have to call him again, but if we need another major contracting job, he will be the first one we call.- Kathleen D.

FWe couldn't be more disappointed in Gutter Guys-Milford! RIPOFF, UNPROFESSIONAL, MESSY, LYING, and JUST SHOWS UP RANDOMLY. We decided to do our back gutters, but we'll take our business elsewhere! The gutters they did for us are already faulty and are allowing water to run behind them, damaging our soffit. The workers left nails and brackets laying all over our yard. Thankfully we were able to clean up after them before my dog stepped on a nail. But, it gets worse... They started off kind and the estimator even offered a suggestion to run downspouts along the side of the house so we didn't have to do as much digging for underground flexible pipe. It was my fault for not having him specify that on the quote; I mistook kindness for trustworthiness. So, when the guys show up to do the work (with only one day's notice), they only ran the downspouts straight down. I had to call to complain and they said the estimator would call me back to discuss (well, he didn't). Then a few days later, workers show up at our house UNANNOUNCED to fix the downspouts. They didn't mention anything about an extra cost or have me sign anything. Two days later, the estimator shows up at my door UNANNOUNCED claiming that he never said anything about the downspout along the side of the house (BLATANT LIE TO MY FACE) and that it is an additional cost. He mentioned that they should've had me sign a change request for the extra cost when they were here... well, they didn't. and they never mentioned charging me extra! Only use Gutter Guys if you want faulty gutters from liars & scammers. What a scam of $1000. "Satisfaction guaranteed..."

AFrom start to finish, the job went very well. Some smaller materials were delivered late last week. On Monday, the dumpster arrived. Tuesday morning, the crew came and began stripping off the old roof (two layers of shingles) and identifying plywood sheathing that needed replacement (14 pieces). I knew I had some bad spots, having felt soft spots while walking on the roof. The rest of the morning was spent replacing the bad sheathing and placing the ice shields and underlayment. By noon, the new shingles arrived and by 7:00 pm, the roof was completed and the project site cleaned up. They even put back our old gutter guards. We were really impressed with the skill and drive of the entire work crew, and their ability to get such a large job done so quickly and efficiently. Our neighbors were blown away too. So much better quality work that we have seen from other roofing jobs in the neighborhood.

AMy initial contact with Leelands was 10 years ago. I really admired the work they had done on my neighbors house. I just couldn't afford slate repair or replacement at the time. The employees were always courteous and patient. Fast forward to May 2018, I had exhausted all the patching my roof could take. I contacted Leelands, Donna promptly scheduled Luke to come out for an estimate. Luke was on time and provided honest feedback. I recieved a Photo Report, Field Condition Report and Proposals a few weeks later. It took me a few more months to decide how to proceed. In October, Leelands sent Gabriel and Miguel to make the repairs. They were prompt, courteous and worked diligently to finish the job. After a rainy 2018, my roof is still leak free.
