    Park Moving & Storage Co
I am writing this because after 6 months after moving in and SEVERAL attempts to contact the company regarding our claim and issues we have received NO response. Unfortunately we had no choice in our moving and storage company because this was a military move, and happened quite suddenly so we were in need of long term storage. We paid almost $300 a month to have our goods safely stored for 2 1/2 years. ( about 7,000 ) Upon unloading the crates ( I guess I should also mention they were late & messed up our yard with the truck) Several large items were NOT EVEN wrapped. My childs crib and ivory glider chair just came off not wrapped in any sort of protection and was filthy. A bed was demolished. Barstools cracked. A large corner desk trashed. A dresser was placed upstairs covered in mold and broken. One of my huge concerns with our items is there was SO MUCH mold and damage. That alone should be addressed. We have been living out of plastic storage drawers because we have no furniture or reimbursement to replace it. Due to the mold my family has been sicker than usual all winter with several trips to the Dr for allergy and sinus issues.( We were told to keep the items until contacted by the company for them to examine ) Then something else absolutely unacceptable happened...While my husband was out to grab lunch one of the movers followed me upstairs. I had my back against a wall unpacking a box in front of me. He said he would help me unpack so we could get rid of some of the paper and boxes. I tried to politely decline saying that I had it under control. He then picked up a bra I had pulled out of the box and made a comment about it. I uncomfortably laughed it off and then he put both hands on my shoulders and put his mouth on mine. I pushed him away and then I heard a friends voice downstairs. Because the mover heard the strange mans voice too he backed off. I gave him no indication that I was interested in any such behavior. If my friend had not shown up when he did who knows how far that guy would have tried to go. Because of this incident my husband would no longer let the movers in the house. All boxes (still packed) had to be stored in the garage because he no longer trusted the company inside and wanted that team gone as quickly as possible. After filing a police report still nothing has been done regarding this awful incident. Many military moves are handled by one spouse while the other is on deployment, usually the female. I never expected something like this to happen and was not concerned about being left alone with them. I now am extremely uncomfortable in any situation involving a crew that comes out and will not be left alone for it. I believe it is the duty of the company to hire trustworthy workers who do not behave in this manner and should take responsibility and be held accountable if something this inappropriate takes place. We have heard NOTHING. The company had to send out a SECOND crew to move the items from the garage to the rooms where they were supposed to go. This particular crew was seasoned and professional. They managed to account for several boxes that the other crew thought were missing. They took the lamp that was delivered to us that was not our and hopefully it was returned to its rightful owner. They agreed that the amount of mold and damages was unusual. Basically the majority of the items that were NOT damaged were ones I had packed and sealed in plastic totes myself or vacuum sealed in airtight bags. After several calls and following the proper channels we have STILL not heard back from anyone. Maybe now the owner will acknowledge and address the situation? Many pictures of molded and broken goods to follow..... My Longaberger baby cradle that slept in 30+ years ago was smashed and covered in mold. Decorative plates received as wedding gifts were broken. Books from my childhood mildewed, picture frames mildewed and broken. I opened a box of shoes and was at first shocked that I would have put them away dirty ( I always clean them before putting them away ) Then I realized it was mold...covering my collection of high heels. Kitchen utensils....many small things passed down from relatives that to someone else may seem to petty to mention but they add up to a lot of memories, money lost and disappointment.

    Delaware Clock Repair
Kept clock for 3 months total two separate times because I took it back a second time.  After the second time it ran worse when I got it back. It only ran for 5 days and lost 5 minutes each day.  Could not adjust it to run any faster.  Charged me over $100 for nothing as far as I'm concerned. Took the clock to another shop today and it needs bushings replaced. There are a total of 28 bushings in my clock and he showed me three that were bad as soon as he took the back off.   The owner of The Tick Tock Shop said he will not know how many are bad till he takes it apart.
I do not think Delaware Clock Repairs really took the clock apart.  If he did he never should have assembled it with bad bushings. I think he just cleaned it on the outside and then oiled it.
I do not think he has the expertise or disire to really repair my clock.
Owner  he is a nice fellow.

    Verizon
We paid a bill a few days late and Verizon cut the service off. Most companies would just carry the bill to the next payment period, but Verizon pulled the plug on us. They made me jump through hoops talking to foreigners with accents so think that I could not understand them. After talking to nine people I could barely understand, the problem is still not fixed. They demand American money, but have foreigners that you can't understand. They said it would take a few hours to restore my service, but that still has not happened. It takes two seconds to buy or rent a movie, but in four hours they still haven't fixed the service.

    ALLEGHENY GENERAL HOSPITAL SUBURBAN CAMPUS
We had asked specifically to have blood work done prior to the
procedure to make sure everything was okay ,and that an antibiotic be
administered prior to the procedure to prevent infection. Although the
chance of infection is only 3 to 4 percent, I had done extensive
research prior and the best facilities in the country do this as a
standard precaution. We were told there was no reason for this, they don't do this, and they've done hundreds of these....no problem.
Well, unfortunately..... my father acquired a staph infection, which was bacterial meningitis. He became very, very sick and the procedure meant nothing as we couldn't  properly assess the results.
My father has suffered with vascular dementia for 4 years and has become almost immobile and incontinent, so extra precautions should have been taken to assure steriltity and cleanllness.
Perhaps the very worst part, if there could have been a worse part, was that they felt that he must that he go to a skilled nursing facility upon discharge and gave us very little help in locating one that was in decent condition and had good care. The social worker treated us as if we were a major annoyance to her and communicated rarely, even though a member of our family was there all of the time. My brothers and I did most of the searching, calling, begging, etc., during an incredibly difficult time . We were there pretty much constantly except during the late evening/early morning hours and thus were in communication with other families on the floor.  We knew with 100% certainty that at least one more woman had MERSA in her spinal fluid. There were many rooms that were "quarantined"  so to speak , but I cannot say for sure why. Two people on one floor is unacceptable.  We had some amazing nurses on the neuro floor and we were so grateful for their help! It was a nurse that brought my father's fever to the attention of the doctors and us. Thank goodness! This procedure was done in mid to late November and it has just been in the last two weeks that my father has truly been "well "again. We were already "losing him" to the awful, heartbreaking disease of dementia and we lost him for two months and two of perhaps our last holidays with him, due to the negligence of this hospital.  We will not be returning to this facility. The entire experience, with the exception of most of the nursing care he received and the kindness of one doctor, was a nightmare

    Delaware Valley Fence And Iron
We have a chain link fence around our property. The left side of our driveway gate was completely broken off of the post hinge and the gate itself needed to be welded back together. We asked several contractors to give an estimate for fixing the fence but nobody could do the job. I found Delaware Fence and Iron on Angie's List and was impressed by the reviews they received.
Tom called me back and we scheduled a time for him to come out and see whether the gate could be fixed or if we needed a new one. Lucikly he said the gate could be fixed. The price was a little high but then again, we hadn't gone to a fence company for an estimate (only contractors/handymen).
Tom was booked up for a couple weeks but he called one day and said he could come by to fix the fence since it wasn't a big job. So our wait was less than expected, which we appreciated. He welded the gate back to the post and welded the corners of the gate together. He additionally welded a cap back to the fence so that it was connected, brought the chain link down to the ground so there were no gaps and re-secured the chain link in several spots on the fence and gate. He additionally replaced a missing ball finial on one of the gate posts (something we hadn't noticed before). All of these extras were included in his price.
We would highly recommend Tom's company to anybody looking for fence repair or installation of new fencing. He gives great attention to detail and finishes the job nicely. We are extremely satisfied with his work.

    First State Knife Sharpening
Very responsive, professional and quick. Dropped knives off to him and they were ready the next morning, so I never missed a dinner prep! Also gave me some pointers on caring for the knives and proper use of the honing steel. Knives are a dream to use again. I thought I'd been keeping them pretty sharp with my kitchen sharpener, but immediately realized that a professional sharpening is really the only way to go. Knives are effortless to use now, and I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was.

    Verizon
I think the service is really excellent. It's rare that I lose a call. The Internet is fast. Sometimes, it does take a little longer. I do noticed that when I'm in a certain area that the cell connection there is horrible and sometimes, I can't even use my cellphone down there and that's 2 hours south of here.

    First Class Contracting
To say this was a remarkable encounter and great experience would be close to an understatement.  First Class Contracting had completed working at a neighbor?s house doing roof repair and painting when Charles Evans (owner?) approached me in front of my house soliciting work.  Our house is a four bedroom, 2½ bath two-story built in 1965, and purchased by us in 1993.  It had some of the original wooden shutters and had not been painted since the early 1990?s. In the interim we had replaced all
the windows (solid vinyl) and doors (combination of wood and vinyl) and wrapped much of the trim with aluminum.  After a little negotiating, a check of the work at the neighbor?s and a very positive talk with that neighbor, we verbally agreed upon scope, price and schedule.  The scope was to remove the old and disintegrating shutters, power wash the home exterior, silicone caulk the siding corners and open seams, tape and protect the vinyl windows and doors adjacent to siding tighten any loose asbestos siding by removing loose nails and replacing with screws, paint all the asbestos siding (2 coats of Sherwin Williams ?SuperPaint? exterior acrylic latex) and replace the shutters on the front and one side of the house with raised panel solid color vinyl shutters.  A further reference was provided without request and the scope of work and price were committed to writing which was finalized on Monday morning, 7/15.  Work began that afternoon by a crew of four, Mr. Evans and three employees, and was completed by close of day on Wednesday, 7/17.  That the work was performed so promptly is amazing in itself, but here are some further highlights that made the experience exceptional.
    • When power washing, not only was the exterior siding washed, but so was a concrete patio attached to the rear of the house, a stoop attached to the rear of the garage and the aluminum siding of a small add-on porch attached to one side of the house.
      • When I inquired if two abandoned rusting protruding exterior vents from a previous kitchen relocation could be removed and the area repaired with spare shingles that I had, Mr. Evans was most accommodating and made the requested repair.  Now painted; it looks great.
      • When I realized that painting the front door surround was not part of the original scope and requested it be included, that became part of the work.  Again it looks great.
      • Where shutters were removed that were purposely not being replaced, appropriate repair of the underlying shingles were made and care was taken to assure that the shadows of their prior existence didn?t show through the new paint.
      • Where shutters were being replaced, all the holes from prior shutters and prior repairs were filled with mortar or patch material even where the new shutters would have masked their presence.
      • Downspouts were removed prior to painting and replaced afterwards to assure thorough coverage.
      • All jobs of this nature encounter bumps.  They were absorbed and additional requests that were outside the original scope were completed without additional cost, even though I let it be known that I was expecting to be charged.

The job concluded with a thorough clean-up and walk around.  All-in-all my wife and I couldn?t be more pleased.  First Class Contracting was incredibly prompt and hardworking, exceptionally accommodating and displayed a consistent positive customer service attitude.  The result is beautiful, exceeding our expectations.  We feel we got a quality job and superb value for our money.
