Lighting Installation reviews in Edgemoor

    Martin's Home Improvement
Martin and his team did a phenomenal job remodeling our living room and powder room. They did a great job of removing the wood paneling and installing drywall in the living room and powder room. They also gave us several suggestions (installing recessed lights and opening up the entry to the hallway) that were practical, reasonable and not at all pushy. They always arrived on time, were exceptionally clean and finish the job exactly at the time they said they would. Martin was always available and came to our house to discuss different options. Well worth the price.

    Martin's Home Improvement
It went perfect. Marcin and his crew showed up on time every day. We received quality workmanship at a great price. Marcin's communication is great, his men did good work, and they were very respectful to out home. They did the work as if it was their own home. We hope to have the crew back next year to do more work.

    B C Construction
It looks fantastic!!! Todd is the kind of guy that fixes things as if they were his own. He also makes positive suggestions on things you may not have thought about. We felt that he was so trustworthy that we gave him a key to our house and had no problems. So you can see that he comes highly recommended!!!

    Lane Roofing & Exteriors
After receiving estimates from a few roofing companies, I contracted Lane Roofing and Exteriors to install new Certainteed Landmark Pro roofing shingles, underlayment, flashing, solar skylight, and some aluminum capping along the rake of the house. They were not the cheapest but I personally know seven happily satisfied friends and family that have used their services in the past so that was a huge factor plus the fact that I preferred the Certainteed product and warranty over other shingle manufacturers. The roofing and skylight and were completed in a single day with the capping done soon after. The installation, crew, and clean-up was very professional, high quality, and well done. They entire group from Wayne doing the estimate, Rhonda in the office, Chris Lane the owner, and Mike on-site were easy to work with, very professional, with great communication. Highly Recommend.

    Ferris Home Improvements
We had Ferris replace our roof last month and we couldn?t be happier.  It was our first time using them but my wife had done the research and legwork on Angie?s list and Ferris was the best of the three companies we contacted for proposals.
Our home had suffered some snow and ice damage on the roof and the skylight the previous winter. We realized it was more than just a repair and we needed a new roof. After 15 years of living here, it was time for a whole new roof so might as well get it done right. Size-wise, it ended up being 16 square when it was done.
I spoke to Kelly at the office and she had Matt come out and do the initial inspection and give us our quote. Not only was it the lowest quote we received but it was less than what we budgeted for, so we were really pleased.
They were patient with us while making our choices and Matt even brought out samples to the house to make my wife feel more comfortable with our decisions. With the savings, we were able to upgrade our skylight and add remote operated blinds (my wife?s favorite detail), as well as replace all of our gutters and downspouts.
Ferris showed up on time on the day that we were scheduled and Michael handled the job, leading a crew of seven men. They completed our new roof in one day in bitterly cold weather and when my wife came home she said they cleaned up our yard better than the landscapers! Due to the weather, Pablo returned a few days later to complete the gutters and downspouts. That was completed that in a half day. Pablo was very good in redirecting the new downspouts into better positions to keep water away from the foundation and help with the appearance of our house too. I should also mention Jim was very patient will all my questions as he walked me through how the skylight blinds worked and made sure I understood it completely after installation.
With the weird weather last month, they let us get a couple of snow storms under our belt before having Matt do the final walkthrough and collecting their final payment, just so they knew we were satisfied. My wife was very happy with the final look of our architectural shingles and it was so great not worry about roof leaks anymore, no matter how hard it snowed. We highly
recommend them and would use them again.

    RMV Electric
Excellent-professional yet friendly and they hustled. One guy meticulously hung each crystal on the sconces for me which was not totally necessary. My only concern is that the foyer light is hanging from the copper wire it's that tight. But there have been no repurcussions as a result. They were exceptionally professional for their age which I guess shows u mine. Like they were ambitious and focused on developing and/or carrying on a solid business. I really appreciate it! Thank you.

    Bafundo & Assoc
I had called Bafundo and A. Parker (both A rated) to give us estimates on our kitchen extension roof. A. Parker quoted $1575 after the Angie's coupon for a standard shingle roof (lifetime shingle warranty). Bafundo presented me with an entirely different approach that I thought would address not just the roof, but also the temperatures in the extension. The extension, which has windows on all 3 sides, has always been the hottest room in the summer and coldest in the winter. Bafundo suggested installing a Duro-Last roof, which is VERY different from anything I've ever seen or heard of. It consists of a flexible white vinyl sheet over 1.5" urethane foam panels. My reasoning was that the white roof would reflect the sunlight in the summer, making the room cooler, and the foam would retain more heat in the winter. It was considerably more expensive ($2555), but held the promise of solving not just the need for a new roof, but the room's temperature issues.
The main roofs and some of our vinyl siding needed to be replaced because of a hailstorm in which the homes in our area were
pounded with golf-ball-size+ hail. Bafundo replaced the entire roof in a single day, including approximately 20 sheets of plywood that had been "fried" by the high temps in the hip roof. The installation included three new ridge vents. Given the total roof area, I found their speed amazing. They used IKO architectural shingles, and the roof looks great. They also
replaced the damaged siding and it matches perfectly.
After the main roof was completed, they tackled the extension roof. The total time to install this small Duro-Last roof was 1.5
days, and it took a "fixer-upper" employee an additional day to fix some (not all) of the gaffs made by the original installers. We've had a couple of gully-washer downpours since the roof was installed and, functionally, it works; we've detected no leaks four months after installation and we've had lots of rain. The temp in the room is indeed considerably lower during hot days
and warmer during cold days. But the issue with this roof is that much of the installation appears to have been done by workers unconcerned with aesthetics. Caulking was not smoothed out, so there are large blobs of caulk in several places around the edge of the roof, some of which can be seen from the ground. The Duro-Last vinyl sheet is run up under the house siding, but after doing that, the siding was not replaced all the way down to the top of the roof. Some siding was dimpled or bent. The roof contained two skylights, which had to be raised 1.5" to accommodate the urethane foam boards. The original workers put aluminum caps over whatever they used to raise the skylight walls. Those caps had a major (1/4") gap under them on the inside, where they can be seen, and one was uneven. The corners of the drywall in the skylights had cracked and were not caulked. These mistakes were later fixed by the "fixer-upper". Because the roof is 1.5" higher than a shingled roof (due to the urethane foam boards), the entire roof has to have vinyl edging. The edging itself looks fine, but they have to use joiners in multiple places. Despite the small perimeter of the roof (~40'), they installed 7 joiners. The reason they had to use so many was later explained to me (has to do with the layout of the urethane boards), but they are nonetheless not attractive.
Cleanup: Bafundo uses a subcontractor to do cleanup. They missed some major items. When I started seeing a few nails in the back yard, I asked one of the workers installing the Duro-Last roof for a nail sweeper. My scan of the yard immediately behind the kitchen extension turned up about two dozen nails and staples. I checked the sides and front of the house and found only one nail. Following a gully-washer rain 2 days later, I happened to look into the end of one of the gutter downspouts. It had 53 nails in it (yes, I counted them) poised to s*** onto the driveway. Since none of the other four downspouts had any nails in or near them, I deduced that the cleanup crew had blown the nails from the garage/porch roof gutters into that one downspout, but neglected to subsequently remove them from the downspout exit. No harm done, but the sheer volume of the nails was scary.
I also noticed a week or so after the work was finished that the ridge vent for the porch roof was not symmetrical; i.e., the slots on one side of the ridge board were much wider than on the other side. That was subsequently fixed, but this mistake along with the unremoved nails are an indication that the company had not done a careful post-installation inspection of the work.
Bottom line: Overall, I would say that Bafundo does a very good job, and does it quickly. The only areas needing improvement are attention to aesthetics on Duro-Last roofs and post-installation checking of the work.

    Lodeski Home Improvement Inc
I’m waiting to hear back from them. I would recommend them. They’re friendly, courteous, and willing to work with you. There are some things I want done that did change in the middle of things and they worked with me on that. They’re very busy right now. I told them that I wanted to use them and I’m willing to wait. Steve has been out to my house 3 times to make references and I’ve gotten good feedbacks from them. He’s been fantastic so far. He gave me some input on some of the things I wanted done. He was willing to work with me and give me what I wanted and do a lot of the legwork. He’s been fantastic so far. He wasn't the lowest but he wasn't the highest bid.

    Top Notch Home Improvement
I love him. He was awesome. He's been here a couple of times. He actually showed me what the problem was. I was thrilled with his attention to detail and the fact that he looked ahead that there might be a problem down the road. He had a very high rating so I called him. He answered the phone right away and he said, "I'm in the middle of a job. Can I call you back in an hour?" and he did. We had a storm and it knocked out the lights, computer and everything and he came out the next day and took a look at it and he was able to tell me what I needed to do as far as getting that set up so we can at least operate the computer. That was huge because my husband does online trading so he was able to get it set up and we were back in business that same day. He was just so personable and friendly. Not only that, he explains what he was doing. I thought his rates were very reasonable. He cleaned up what he had to do and took care of anything that needed to be thrown out or anything. I would be happy to refer him. He is awesome. He's very good, detailed and thorough. I couldn't have been happier.

    Lange Construction Inc
Joe Lange returned our phone call promptly and arrived at our house on the first day that we called. My husband and I knew what we wanted from doing research on the Trex website and catalog. We discussed our wants with Joe and it was so easy. He immediately knew what we were talking about, took measurements, and said he would get back to us shortly with an estimate. We had an estimate within 2 days, which was several thousand less than a previous estimate from another contractor for the same work and products. After one brief phone conversation to finalize the project, we signed the contract and gave a deposit. The materials were promptly ordered and delivered to our house. Work begun shortly afterward and was done in a very timely manner by very pleasant, competent workers. The deck is beautiful and we definitely enjoy our new lighting in the evening which looks so lovely in that setting. In addition, Joe did not ask for the balance due until every detail was completed to our liking.  We would surely use Lange Construction for future projects and highly recommend him.
