First Off - Excellent Job. Professional, Responsible, Responsive, Knowledgeable. Over the years, I have had a number of home inspections done in different states. Some good, some not. Rick far surpassed my expectations. Both my husband and I were able to be present at the home inspection. He reviewed items and areas thoroughly. When there was something of concern, no matter how small, he mentioned it and made us aware of it. This really helped us learn more about the house we are purchasing. We had a home, radon, and wdi inspection done. Rick was up front with pricing and what he would / could do and what he could not. The three plus hours he spent going over our property with us was greatly appreciated. This is the first time I've felt like the cost of an inspection was worth the time and the money. Thank you Rick! Great work ethic. Keep it up!

We called the professionals at Basement Systems USA after we saw our wall starting to crack from moisture. After much research for a company we found their information and plenty of wonderful reviews (all true). We called to set up an appointment and the gentleman Scott Beard we spoke to was extremely polite and very accommodating. He came out the next day. He was extremely through and was at the house two hours performing an extremely detailed review of the damage. Hi write up was very precise and specific and the estimate we received was fair and right on the money. He was just a very friendly and sociable person and we knew right away that we wanted to hire them for the job. We called him next day and he promptly sent the contract over. The contract was very straightforward and fair and the required deposit was very reasonable. I liked that they didn't expect full payment until the job was done, inspected and approved by all parties. As soon as the contract was signed and the down payment was confirmed they got our appointment set up with the foreman for him and his team to come out immediately. Sean Ryan and his crew were extremely professional, friendly and punctual. They showed up on time, laid plastic down to prevent tracking dirt in (we have carpeting), covered the furniture in the effected area and kept their equipment in one place to avoid clutter. The job was supposed to be done in one day but once they got behind the wall they found additional damage and black mold. Even though this was not part of the original problem (understandable since you can't predict what you will find behind the wall), they offered to eliminate the mold and make the additional necessary repairs. The price for the additional work was also very reasonable. Even better was that they said they would get everything done without having to make another appointment for the new project at a later date if they didn't mind them coming back the next day (Saturday). They worked until dark and got the majority of the work completed. As promised they came back on time the next day and finished the additional work promptly. They did a good job cleaning up and made sure we were happy with the work. The wall looks great (I want to do the whole basement like that now) and the sub pump is working great. We have had no more moisture or water damage. Needless to say we are happy with the final product and appreciate their professionalism and concern with our needs. They went above and beyond (especially by coming out on a weekend to fix an unexpected problem) to get the work done in a timely fashion and with great results. They also have electronic equipment (i.e. iPad) to print out paperwork and take payments which makes it easy if you don't like writing checks. Overall we are very satisfied with Sean Ryan and his crews work, Scott Beard's help in getting everything set up and the whole company for helping us solve our problem. We have already recommended them to my parents and would recommend them to anyone who needs assistance with their basement.

I just moved into a house in November of 2015 and when the inspector took the radon level it was at 3.8 with a radon fan. I was not happy at all with that.  Especially since I was spending a lot of time downstairs.  In the meantime I ended up having to have a 2nd sump pump and an entire french drain put in.  I didn't even take new readings after that because I was positive they had to be higher.  The mirror drain along the walls, which is part of the french drain and the sump pumps were allowing room air to be sucked down into the floor and compromising the radon fan. I called a couple of radon companies and Keystone was the only one who responded promptly.  I explained the problem.  I thought I need a bigger fan but he said "no, you need to seal the french drain and the sump pumps."  He initially met with a plumber at my house to go over what would have to be done to the one sump pump because it had a water backup on it.  If any lines had to be moved, the plumber would move them. He also did a smoke test to check to see if air was being drawn into the floor through the mirror drain.  It was obvious that it was.  He then came back about a week and a half later with the equipment he needed to seal everything up.  He completely sealed the sump pumps up to make them air tight and used foam to seal the top of the mirror drain around the perimeter of the basement to make it air tight as well.  It took a couple of hours and he did a really nice job.  When you stood by the radon fan you couldn't hear the air being sucked down anymore.  He then left me a radon test kit to check it out in a few days.  The next day I went downstairs and the fan wasn't working.  It was 14 years old and I have to assume that for the first time ever it was actually put to work sucking air out of the floor and the fan blew.  He replaced the fan with the same kind that was there.  He said it would be "ok" and that he was confident my "levels would be next to zero."  I just got the results back and they are less than 0.3. Anything below 0.5  is equivalent to radon levels found in fresh air. So I am more than pleased with the service and the results.
The initial visit was $100.00.  The sealing of the sump pumps and the drain was $300.00. The new fan was $595.00

I had just purchased my house in November and during closing the seller mentioned that "if the gutters aren't kept clean, a little water comes in in the corner of the family room downstairs".  Really?  Now you mention this! So we had a few days of rain and the sump pump went off a few times and next thing I know there is water in the corner of the finished basement.  I was sure there was a bigger problem than I could see and called Morgan.  He came out within a day or two and showed me areas in the basement that didn't have paneling that had black mold growing on it. He also said that the water coming in wasn't from the gutters.  It was ground water coming in the bottom of the basement and washing dirt in with it.  The basement already had a sump pump and a partial french drain already.  He pointed out that the piping they used, the black piping, would clog and they no longer use that.  He also said that the drain should go around the entire basement and have 2 clean outs and another sump pump.  The existing drain would have to be jackhammered up and the old pipe removed and completely redone. They couldn't attach the PVC pipe they use now to the black pipe and he wouldn't anyway because the black pipe clogs.   They would take down the exterior walls and remove any mold that might be there.  I had a bad feeling about this basement from the beginning and agreed to have it done.  He started the very next day.  They put plastic up to keep the dust and mold spores out of the house and started removing the walls.  They also kept a machine going the entire time to keep the mold spores from contaminating any further. The walls were, quite literally, covered in black mold from floor to windows behind the paneling.  Even the interior walls that divided the rooms had to come down.  They weren't as bad.  The mold was only about 2 feet up those walls.  They removed a basement window and everything was taken directly outside.  Nothing was taken through my house.  It took them a day to remove the paneling and sheetrock.  The next day they jackhammered for a full day and the next day for a 1/2 day and they started laying the pipe.  They discovered that the pre existing drain was clogged on one side.  Whoever had installed it had done an okay job up to a point.  There was one section where we can only assume they ran out of gravel and threw dirt on top on the pipe.  It was in this section that it was clogged.  I had noticed that water never did come in the sump pump on that side.  I watch everything they did and they did a very nice job of installation.  Everything was done exactly as it was supposed to be done. They drilled holes in the block wall to allow the wall to drain and put mirror drain along the wall so it would not clog up.   They even put a layer of plastic on top of the gravel to help keep the cement from cracking after it was poured. The next day they came in and scraped the block wall and treated the walls with a mixture of bleach and peroxide.  They also painted the wall twice with Zinsser paint.  The guarantee I was given was also transferable.  So if I ever sell the house, they are covered under my guarantee.  They will also come back the first 2 years and flush my system out for free if I want them to.  I had waited to put a review online until we really had a hard rain.  Last night it was a downpour.  You could hardly see outside it was raining so hard. It went on for hours.  The sump pump went off every 3 minutes.  I was timing it.  This morning it was every 9 minutes.  Now it's far less. I also found out from a neighbor that the houses were built on top of an underground spring.  A little something else the owner neglected to mention. The sump pump he installed is MUCH quieter than the one that was there.  The one that is there can be heard throughout the entire house when it goes off.  You have to be standing next to the one he installed to hear it.  I had a water backup on my original sump pump and asked it we could put one on the second one.  Jim said "no" because with both of them going off I wouldn't have water pressure.  So he put a battery backup on the second one.  I had a plumber in who was talking about the sump pumps and he looked at the battery backup and said "Oh, this is a Marine battery.  They are good batteries.  They last quite a while. He did good by you".  So all in all, I was very pleased with the job.  Just be aware, if you have a french drain installed and have to have walls taken down figure in the price of an electrician to put all your outlets back on the walls because once the walls come down you're left with wires and outlets hanging everywhere.  That cost me an additional $800.00.  Every time I had a question or had to contact Jim he either answered immediately or got right back to me.  After they had painted the walls I had gone downstairs that weekend and noticed some brown staining coming in the wall.  I called on Sunday, not thinking I'd hear from them till the next week.  It certainily wasn't an emergency.  But Jim called me right back.  He wanted to make sure everything was ok.  Apparently the staining is normal.  We are in an area with a lot of clay and the Zinsser paint isn't a stain blocker.  It's for the water.  He also said not to be surprised if in a few years I see some mold start to grown on the walls again.  They can always treat and repaint them for a nominal fee.  So I had the basement refinished but left all the outside walls exposed so if there is ever a problem again I will know right away.  The walls look fine just painted white.  Much better than that awful paneling. I also keep a dehumidifier running all the time.  So far so good.

Everything went great.  They were on time, employees were very nice and moved the heavy pieces that I could not move. They went out of their way to help.  The house was left clean and the outside was spotless I thought I would have to go out and pick up the extra gravel that was on the ground they took care of everything. I am very pleased.  The very first night we had rain and I had no water in the basement.  I would definitely recommend Adam Basement.

I was extremely pleased with the work provided by MasterTech. Not only were they punctual and neat, they were courteous and trustworthy. Richie was the main person that I had contact with, and he put my mind at ease when discussing the details of the job that needed to be done in order to remove the mold from our house. He took the time to explain how this occurred and the process it would take to get the job done in terms I could understand. From start to finish, the job was completed in the time estimated (1.5 days), and they even scheduled a follow-up appointment with me to retest the area where the work was completed. Richie also provided me with a report on the work they did and his business card so I could contact him with any questions and/or concerns. He and his crew were very polite and respectful of our home while working in it. I would definitely use them again in the future.

Tom was incredibly professional and knowledgable. He had no problems with me asking a million questions, and pointed out some potential problems he found but also let us know how this house compared to others that were in the same price range (personal perspective, off the record). I found the company to be very good, and would say that when inspecting such a large purchase as a home, paying the extra little bit to have it done right was well worth it.

The salesman help design the job with 2 nd type of siding around the front door. They worked on the price to get it down where we could afford the job. The started job when the date they said. The crew remove the old siding. They kept the yarn clean when left for the night. We liked the siding around the front door. We want the same siding around garage door too. They able work the last minute change. They come back to finished the job with the new siding.  The final cleanup was very good.

Jack was great to work with.  He was prompt, professional and knowledgeable.  He was patient to answer all my many questions, and explained everything thoroughly.  He was honest in telling us that if we didn't need to have the floor broken up for waterproofing, that we didn't need to have the asbestos tile removed, just covered.  We did end up having waterproofing done, so we went ahead with the asbestos removal.  The work was scheduled promptly, and his team was quick, completing the job a day ahead of schedule.  They did a great job working around some more difficult obstacles with walls and shelving, and removed the asbestos without needing to tear down structures.  They left the basement neat and clean.  Jack arranged for the air testing to be done at once, so that we could have the room back quickly.

In short, the work was done quickly, professionally and excellently.  We were completely satisfied.  I would definitely recommend this company to anyone.
