Donny who did the job, was an excellent hard worker! I also enjoyed his explanation of what he was doing! He did a great job! Mike and Karen (owners) were a fantastic help. They offered me good pricing and a great finished project! Thank you

WHAT A GREAT COMPANY AND REALLY NICE PEOPLE! Mark, Michael and Jake did the work and they were a pleasure to have working at our home. The concrete was close to our house, the fencing and the stairs to our deck. If you've ever poured concrete, the cement splashes as it's being dumped into the forms. As they were working, they were constantly cleaning up to protect our house. They did all the work in one day and were cleaned up an gone by around 5pm, they came back the following morning for a couple hours to place top soil and seed around the edge of the walk. They obviously know what they are doing, they are very professional and made it clear they cared about our satisfaction. We will use R.S. Widdoes again in the future.

    R. S. Widdoes & Son, Inc.
The contractor returned my initial phone call immediately and scheduled appointment for appraisal. During appraisal he described everything needed to be done and tree days later emailed me a detailed quote. It was obvious that they do a quality job without any shortcuts. But the quoted price was more than 50% than everybody else, as a result I don't hire this company

They are very easy to work with. By far the most detailed estimate I have ever had. They explain everything as they go so you know exactly what to expect at all times. The quality of workmanship is first rate, and cleanup is very meticulous. Anything damaged by equipment such as lawn or sidewalk blocks is covered at no expense to the customer. They went not the cheapest but I did feel I got my monies worth. Yes I would use them again.

Mark  and crew were true to  the estimate they performed  everything in a very professional manner.  The response was timely and attention to detail was excellent. Mr. Rick Widdeoes provided a very detailed estimate including every piece of material right down to the type, location and how the reinforcing material was to be used, all measured sections and much more!  Although they were not the lowest priced estimate I received for the work, this was one of the most detailed  estimates from a contractor I ever received. Further,  their foreman Mark and crew personally explained how each segment of the job was done. I had at no time any worries that the monies paid was not well spent. They went the extra mile to do separate pourings of concrete so the job wouldn't be rushed and quality sacrificed. They repaired my yard where equipment had be used, and they put in the contract that they fix at their expense and damage that may occur as a result of heavy equipment they utilize. The finished job is very well done and looks grate.  I would use them again and recommend them highly.

    Dynamic General Contracting Inc.

We built an addition connected to our kitchen and renovated the existing kitchen.  Basically we were building a bigger kitchen. The framing portion of the addition took place in the summer. There were quite a few days where the temperature was over 90 and Randy and his guys came everyday and worked outside in the heat without any complaints.  They were always very respectful of my house.  They took their shoes off in the carpeted areas and tarped so dust would not get into other parts of the house.  Anytime I had questions or concerns they were very friendly and courteous in addressing them. I can't count the number of issues that came up with such a big project.  Randy was able to come up with a simple and quick solution every time.  For example, the transition that came with my laminate floor did not fit on the step that separates my kitchen and family room.  Randy made a bullnose transition.  This piece looks even better than the other transitions.  Randy's guys also go above and beyond what is called for.  Derrick replaced a chipped tile in my foyer.  He noticed the new grout now looks whiter that my old grout.  He white washed my entire foyer so everything matches.  Randy and his guys clearly take pride in their work and my new kitchen shows it!

    Parker Paving

Bryan Parker came out the same day I called him and provided a detailed cost estimate to install a 50' sidewalk so my handicapped could use his wheelchair to get out of his apartment. His estimate was well below the others I received and the description of services bveing provided were detailed on the proposal. I engaged his services and once we gained approval from the apartment complex we went ahead and set the date for the install. Bryan called me the morning of the installation letting me know he was on the way and showed up as promised. His workmanship was excellent and all work was completed the same day. He followed up a couple days later and removed the concrete forms and restored the ground around the sidewalk to a finished and graded condition including the sprinkling of grass seed in the disturbed areas. He was very personal and professional at all times and it was an extreme pleasure dealing with him. I will definitely utilize his services again if I need to have additional concrete or paving work done. Thank you Bryan.

    Creative Pavers Inc
I can remember the day they started. It had just snowed the day before and it was cold and windy.
We figured that they wouldn't show up because of the weather conditions.
    Boy, were we wrong.
Jack, the foreman with Creative Pavers came with a big crew and, what it looked like, brand new equipment.
It really tells you something when a company made thousands of dollars of investments in their equipment. It shows you that they're in for the long haul...
The guys started immediately by scraping of a layer of snow behind our house. After that, they spray painted the area where the patio was going to be. Right away, they started to dig and dig and dig....I don't know how many truckloads they filled up for our 54 by 27 feet patio, but it was a lot.
They brought in truckloads of crushed stone, poured footers for the walls and protected the walls of our house with foam boards.
During a period of 4 weeks, we had a patio, 2 sidewalks from the front of the house to the back, a beautiful front porch and a 2 car driveway done.
We're very honored to be on the front page of the Creative Pavers, Inc. website.
A year later, we made it to the EP Henry catalog with several pages.
Our house increased in value by having all this work done.
At that time Creative Pavers also started with their own landscaping section.
    What is our overall experience?
Well...our house looked like a battle zone for about a month or two. We had snow and ice, so the crew had to stop working for a couple of weeks but they cleaned up every day and there was no such thing as :"we can't do this..."
We've had many cars stop and ask us who did your work and would you recommend them.
We've had many neighbors who copied our patio and tried to go with a different company only to tell us later:"we should have..."
It was a great experience and we would recommend anyone to use this company in a heartbeat.
    You won't regret it!!
It is now 10 years later and we've had the windows and siding replaced. The windows were due since they were the crappy builders grade and we decided to do the siding as well because some parts had really faded and looked pretty bad.
We called Creative Pavers and asked Nik if he could come out to cut some pavers for us because the new siding was somewhat thicker then the old ones. We told them to just bill us for the cost.
Nik told us that he would gladly come out and cut those stones at no cost.
Today ( January 4th, 2013) Nik and Jack came out, spent about half an hour to cut the pavers and even left me with a tube of glue.
I'm telling you. Where can you find a company nowadays with that kind of service?
    What a great company!!

The company's information and contact numbers can be found here:
As I said: our house is on the top of the front page and we are very honored with that!
    Thank you for reading!!

    Chesapeake Home Remodeling and Design
My fiance and I used Chesapeake Home Remodeling and it has been and absolute nightmare. We were recently first time home buyers and were "young and dumb" and got taken completely by a dishonest, sub-par company.

We began by responding to a flyer handed out in our new community for patios and fences (which we were in the market for). The day we called a sales representative was sent by the company to our home. He came in the evening and stayed until past 10pm (we actually fed him). He, of course, said their product was vastly superior then others as a super high quality product with their work and materials. He then asked if we would be interested in being used in their demo program. We were supposed to have received a better deal but would allow others in the area to come look at the work at our house for a year. After the project was complete, we never heard from the salesman or the company about the program again. I would not want to show off that work either. There was even a "demo program" contract signed.

We finally agreed after some salesman sweet talking and feeling comfortable because they were allegedly completely insured, and a Better Business Bureau company (remember this later on). We signed the contract for a fence and stamped concrete patio and sidewalk.

We were given a vague start date and the workers showed up during the day while we were at work with no prior notice and began work, patio first. The second day, the concrete truck came to pour the patio and sidewalk. Without permission from myself or my neighbor, the truck was directed through my neighbors driveway and yard to mine. I watched the truck drive over the front concrete step of my new, just moved in, never met neighbor and break it in half. After asking the foreman what he planned to do with the broken step he informed me that he would just cut the rest of the broken half step off and that it would be "better than before". I had to make him understand, with some difficulty, that it would NOT be better and that it needed to look exactly as it did before they destroyed it. He then broke up they step and made a new step. I later found the broken up concrete from the step in a drainage ditch in my development.

After completing the patio, the fence crew came, again, with no notification and installed the fence.
After completing and reviewing the project we noticed some very glaring issues. We politely and professionally made light on these issues and asked the owner to look for himself. He ignored us.

    The major Issue:
    - discolored and off consistency of concrete near wall
    - misshaped step
    - poor stamp quality around deck support
    - drainage pipe placed causing standing water (we were not consulted before the placing of the two drain pipes under the concrete. coming out the side is clearly the wrong choice)
    - crooked fence and gate placement
    - after destroying our neighbors patio step, breaking the broken step up, and remaking it, the worker disposed of the replaced concrete in the new construction area of our neighborhood (again, no consultation or without receiving permission)
    - hand print of coloring on deck support (does not come off with scrubbing and there is at least one other on the house)

This is when the real nightmare began. The company would not respond to our emails or calls about the issues for months. Finally we resorted to using the Better Business Bureau to try to resolve the issue. We made a complaint (by this time, without our complaint we noticed a drastic drop in their BBB rating). We were met with a response that stated that we had "hit our fence with a riding mower" (we have a very small townhouse yard that is completely fenced in in the back and a riding mower does not fit through the gate that they put in). It was a complete lie out of no - where. After we responded to this via BBB and it was obvious that they were in the wrong they SHUT THEIR BBB ACCOUNT DOWN.
We then had almost no luck in contacting them at all, emailing and calling numerous times. Finally, they sent out the original concrete worker to "fix" the concrete problems. Even to my untrained eye, it was obvious that it was beyond fixing and would have to be replaced. It was horrible workmanship. The workman still tried to make it better with a grinding stone (did absolutely nothing except make it worse). The fence was allegedly fixed, again, we were not there.
When we inspected the leaning gate post, we noticed that it was not "dug up up and the post re-set in concrete" as we were told it would be, but the vinyl panel next to it, taken off its brackets so that it appeared to sit straight, just loosening the panel to float.

The owner finally came with a project forum to look at the project. The project foreman agreed that it was a very sub-par job, and after consulting with the owner of the company, he didn't say a word to us beyond initial greetings, the owner agreed tothat he would repour concrete on the back patio and re-stamp it.The concrete was repoured and looks 100% better.

To this date the fence has not been fixed and we cannot get a hold of the company to complete their project. It was a mistake to use the company, they still have not completed their project.
They lied about the demo program, and are not what they say they are. They solidified their dishonesty by removing themselves from the BBB while in a negotiation that they were clearly in the wrong. DO NOT USE THEM. I will gladly show you what they are and the work that they do.

If you have any questions, please contact me at and I will send you pictures, copies of our BBB dispute and emails back and forth. Thank you
    - Jeremiah E.
