Rheumatology reviews in Washington DC

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • No medical paperwork.  On initial visit, doctor asked many questions and did the history himself.  Spent20 to 25 minutes on a very thorough medical exam.  Said he was ordering a few blood tests but he was pretty confident he knew what the patient had.  This was confirmed through subsequent tests.  Doctor called up with results of blood tests and procedures. the day he received them.
Clearly, an unusually gifted diagnostician.  Patient had illness that had eluded dozens of previous doctors and he diagnosed it on the spot.  His hands on approach to diagnosing may be responsible; this is rare in today's strong drift to reliance on tests.  Every follow up exam involves at least five minutes of physical exam.  His manner is kind and gentlemanly and he has taken the time to speak to other providers.  Stays very current with the latest developments in his field.   Pursues conservative treatment plan, doing everything by the latest standards, combined with a knowledge of the standards insurance companies demand for coverage.

  • I like them because I can go from doctor to doctor and they can all talk to each other and share information. They are all integrated. My dermatologist is here, my internist, and others. The availability does depend on the doctor but because of my condition they are always able to fit me in. You can make all your appointments online and every time I have a test I can look at all my records or if I have any questions. I really like that. They are located right on the metro line and are easy to get to. The people are friendly where it matters and I have had good results.

  • Johns Hopkins Outpatient Clinic are very fast and very efficient. They have a really good flow for patients in terms of getting from one area to another. It is very easy to get in and get out. Easy to access because there's a footpath and a subway to the Outpatient Center. They have a shuttle from Penn Station which is really convenient. The staff are all very friendly and very professional. They do surveys to find out what your experience was so they are very interested in feedback for the service. My Doctor is really amazing in terms of communicating with me. Not only during the appointments but also via e-mail. He is very responsive to e-mail and that is really helpful. My Doctor is Dr. Sisson.

  • PMR requires declining doses of prednisone that are determined through monthly physical and blood tests. Dr. Laukaitis has clearly described the disease, administered treatment and prescribed medication to avoid the osteoporosis that prednisone tends to cause..

  • I have had arthritis for thirty years and have seen a number of specialist. None of them came close to his capacity to diagnose, get things right, and respect and listen to what the patient has to say.
He values the things I told him and used the information I gave him in making his diagnosis.
The office staff is very helpful.

  • FYI - you will be completely responsible for any fees your insurance company doesn't cover, and the office visit fees (not counting labs) are $350 and up. I appreciated the staff telling me this when I called, but now I have to re-think whether I can pay that much per visit. So, know about your insurance before you call here.

  • He is an excellent doctor. He is very personable and takes interest in my health and wellness. He is very friendly and very encouraging. He goes the extra mile to make sure that I have the confidence in his services. He is also takes time to educate me about my medical condition and suggests other resources to gather more information about my condition that would help me understand it. He is also involved in the latest researches.
