  • Unfortunately I didn't even get a chance to see her work because I left. She was so dismissive and rude that I didn't feel comfortable leaving my dress there. She believed her way was the only way and when I asked questions, responded in the most condescending way. I can't speak for her work, but the way she treated me was horrible and I wouldn't go there again or recommend anyone else to

  • Tracy did a lovely job.  She picked out fabric to use as a binding based on a paint chip I sent, and the tablecloth is just beautiful. She was wonderful to work with - called me several times to clarify things and did the work in a timely way.  I'm very pleased and will definitely use her again.

  • Tracy is a consummate professional! - prompt, professional, talented and trustworthy!  She is an expert seamstress and did an exceptional job altering my daughter's evening gown for an upcoming pageant.  Her precision and attention to detail is also noteworthy.  She listens to the needs of her customers and lets you know immediately that you're in very expert and competent hands!  She has a beautiful personality -- warm and friendly -- and takes a genuine interest in her customers' needs.  We feel very lucky to have found her and will trust her with all of our wardrobe needs in the future!  Thank you Tracy for doing such a beautiful job!!  We highly recommend her to all Angie's List members!

  • Tracy Young was absolutely wonderful!  I had my wedding dress altered by her after finding her on Angies List. I met her at her home which had a great set up with 3 way mirror in a room dedicated to dress fittings. She was able to pin the dress in areas where it needed to be taken in, and was able to alter a corset portion of my dress which has thicker material and appeared quite challenging to take in. When I went for my fitting 1 week before the wedding the dress fit PERFECTLY. It couldn't have fit any better. She also suggested adding a bustle for my train and showed me how it would look once the hooks were added.   She hemmed the bottom of the dress and reapplied the lacing to the trim.  My mother is a seamstress in NY and was VERY impressed with her work.  Tracy was reasonably priced, very friendly and I have referred her to 2 other people since leaving her home last month.  I will definitely be using her in the future for dress alterations.  A great personality, great craftmanship and skill, and a great find on Angies List!!  She is a gem!

  • Tracy is very professional and does a terrific job.  She charges for the time it takes her to do the alterations but she also spent a fair amount of time with me measuring things to be sure it was right.  She is a wonderful person to work with.  She even lent me some jewelry to wear to the wedding at no cost!
I will definitely use her again and have recommended her to several friends already.

  • Tracy did a wonderful job on all of my MANY clothing items that I have brought to her.  I've lost a fair amount of weight and needed much of my wardrobe taken in.  Some smaller sized items only needed to be taken down 1 size, but others had to be reduced by  2 or 3 sizes.  I brought Tracy a little bit of everything -- professional wear including tailored skirts, dresses, and a full suit; casual sundresses; cocktail dresses; and even a vintage coat that was my grandmother's and very special to me.  She did an amazing job on everything!  Most things turned out fabulous the first time, and in the case of a few items that needed some tweaking, Tracy had no problem with making the minor fixes right away to get things just right.  I've brought her two batches of clothes now.  Things turned out so well the first time that I brought her an even bigger batch of clothes the second time.

In addition, her prices are extremely reasonable (e.g., in the range of $15-$25 for typical skirts and dresses).  In contrast, a tailor who I used to go to in downtown DC (who I will never go to again now that I've found Tracy) charges nearly 3 times as much, and their work isn't nearly as good.  Tracy is also very nice, professional, and I was very comfortable going to her home to have the alterations done.  She also completed the work very promptly.  I brought her a TON of stuff, and I couldn't be more pleased with the value and quality of the service that I received.  To put things in perspective, I'm willing to drive 45 min. to go to Tracy in outer Silver Spring rather than go to a tailor in downtown DC, where I live and work.  The quality and value of her work is that good.  I've also seen her working on some beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses, from alterations to custom jobs.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tracy to anyone looking for a talented seamstress for custom special occasion items or basic alterations.  I'll only go to Tracy from now on!    A++

  • Tracey met with me at my convenience, she measured everything acceptably and completed the work within a week. One jacket of all didnt sit properly  and she re-did it with no problem or extra charge.

  • They are worthwhile for clothes that are of high quality. They are very knowledgable and polite. They definitely handle your items with care and they get your items back to you when you request. They also have a lady who can do alterations.

  • I entered into contract with this vendor on July 9th for drapery after seeing her work on another website.  On this site she had 11 out of 12 good reviews.  We signed a contract with 50% down ($1365) and she said she would order the fabric that day.  The delivery date was 7/19. I contacted her on 7/16 to see how things were progressing and she informed me that the iron rod fabricator was going to be a few days longer than expected and that we the rods should be installed by the week of 7/23.  On July 20th I called her and sent an email asking for a status.  She replied late on 7/20 by email stating the installer would be there on 7/23.  On 7/23 I contacted her asking for the installer information because my architect would like to make sure that the installer placed the rods in the right place.  She replied with the installer details. She said she forwarded my architects information to the installer.  At the end of the day on 7/23 I contacted her to ask when the installer would arrive becasue it was after 4 pm.  She said she would text him to see where he was in his schedule. She said he was on another project that took longer than expected and that he would be there first thing the next morning on 7/24.  In the morning I asked for an eta and hours later she said 1pm.  By 6 pm he hadn't arrived.  She replied on the morning on 7/25 to say she was now in Pennsylvania and that she was going to be there thru Saturday, the 28th and if she had to she would install the hardware herself and in the meantime would take $250 off the final price.  I then asked if we could meet on Monday.  No response.  On 7/26 I asked the same thing.  She replied and said she would let me know by the end of the day.  Two days later on 7/28 she asked what my schedule looked like on Wednesday 8/1.  I said fine - what time. She said 4 pm.  I then asked her to reconfirm on Tuesday, 7/31.  I called her on 7/31 at 5 pm because I hadn't heard from her. I also emailed her and texted her for confirmation.  On the morning of 8/1 she replied and said that she would be there on that day at 4 pm as discussed.  At 3:58 pm she sends a text asking if I could wait one more week!  She didn't even have the decency to call.  In the text she said if I was willing to wait she would ship them at her own expense.
At this point all faith that this would ever have a positive outcome was gone.  I asked her to take a picture of the drapes. She send a picture of drapes from a website that she could easily change from a color wheel!  I asked for pics that were a bit more authentic and all four panels.  On the floor, over a chair but not hanging in a window!  She said she would send the pictures on 8/2 but she never did.  On 8/3 she still went along with the story that the panels would be sent, even sent individually, because they were so heavy.  On 8/4 at 11:30 I asked if they would be sent along with a tracking number. At noon she replied and said she needs until 2 pm because she wasn't at home.  At 2:26 she said she was issuing a refund and sent me a delivery confirmation no.  It is now 8/8 and this number is not showing any tracking status so I am certain that my money is not on its way.

  • Over all, I was very satisfied with her skill in putting the pieces from 2 spreads into one so that you can't see the seams. I also liked her suggestion to use the extra material to make pillows. to put on the bed.
