Hardwood Flooring reviews in Weston

Excellent - Jerry and Michelle team were very professional. We had accumulated different color stained floors over the years and you wouldn't know now looking at the finished work. Jerry & Michelle were very timely on responses (including late evenings), quality of work was very good and clean (very little dust residue), they always arrived on time and efficiently got things done. They provided honest advice on color/ material choices and were frank if they thought something does not look right (ie not yes people which helps when the floor had 8 samples colors to choose from). On price i think they were spot on - to give context we had 6 quotes (Collonial weren't the cheapest) but interestingly, when the higher quotes were challenged, they all matched the Colonial price. I will be very happy to refer them and thanks also to the 'Weston Mums on Facebook' who recommended them. Nadeem (PS Michelle is a joy to work with - always helpful..thank you)

David was amazing from every perspective! We needed to have our poorly installed hardwood floor repaired and re-stained. He came to the house promptly, told us how he'd remedy the situation and created a work schedule that was convenient for us. David came on time regularly, communicated well and completed the job as promised. We cannot say enough about David's professionalism. You will be wise to do business with him.

In short, our experience was incredible, Juliano specifically was incredible. He was very responsible - immediately returned emails and calls. Came out to our home on a Sunday to pull an estimate for us. Was always at the ready - even though our construction timing pushed him back a few times, he was always amenable and flexible. The whole process was great. The guys and the work was handled so neatly; I've heard horror stories about the dust and the mess. There was literally none of that. They covered everything that wasn't out and took such careful care with everything. I ended up wanting to do a mix of stain colors - and again, he was totally flexible with me, painting me several swatches on the floor to consider.
In terms of the staining and the poly - again, great. Our floors literally look like they are brand new, freshly laid. There is not one - not ONE - thing to fix or change or redo, etc.  Everything was perfect. It was all no-drama, no hold-ups, etc  We had our whole house stripped / sanded down, stained and three coats of poly put down in four days. We were in the house (in socks!) in less than a week. And most importantly, the job is absolutely gorgeous. And the crew was delightful, especially Juliano. And the price was so fair, considering how much work was done (6,000 square feet of hardwood floors).
I can't say enough positive things about Fairfield Hardwood Flooring or Juliano and his crew (and I don't gush easily!) Great work. Great experience. Would absolutely use them again and definitely recommend them.

The team at Ffld Hardware Floors came on the date confirmed and immediately prepared the floor by hammering the nails.
they then sanded the floors and the closet to the base board and prepped for the first coat which was stain.  the stain match was perfect.  they have a great eye for color.
once the stain dried after two days they came back and applied urethane water based - my choice for faster drying and no smell.  they then came back to sand and apply a second coat.  they were finished.
however the floor felt rough to the touch.  when speaking with Guiliano he said that three coats are necessary when using Water based urethane products so he came back and sanded again and applied a third coat of urethane.
that was what was needed.  the final finish was smooth and durable and the color was perfect match.
the best part is he was very fair with the costs to apply essentially 4 coats of stain and urethane.

Very well! Ricardo arrived at my home to perform an estimate exactly on time and explained everything entailed in performing the repairs. After a few weeks, I had Five Star Flooring do the work. The technicians arrived on time and completed the work very quickly. The end result was great, especially in the kitchen where the wooden floor finish was very worn and damaged. It didn't look like new, but I hadn't expected it to, either, since it was in very bad shape. Only one hitch: the workers who performed the work failed to tell me that the finish needed to "cure" for two weeks. After one week, I vacuumed the floor and it left streaks in the finish. I called Ricardo back, and he explained about not cleaning it for two weeks. Within several days, one of his workers returned and repaired the finish at no additional charge. I am very pleased with the overall experience and will definitely use Five Star Flooring the next time I need wooden floor repairs.

I first found Fred Rottjer through Angie's List and he has been a god-send in maintaining our aging colonial home.  He is a master craftsman, meticulous, skilled and dependable.  In addition, he's a pleasure to know and to do business with.  I'm glad to recommend him most highly!

This year, I decided it was time to sand, stain and polyurethane our wood floors -- the first time since we installed them 40 years ago. They were pre-fabricated (solid wood, but pre-finished and cut) so we weren't sure how the job would work. We got three bids and decided on CT Floor Supply because the owner seemed hugely more knowledgeable than one of the other companies, (whose price was similar) and significantly less expensive than the other (who seemed equally knowledgeable). The best of both worlds!
The job went very smoothly -- each day two men appeared (a different pair each day) to perform that day's task: sanding and staining on Day One, then buffing and applying polyurethane on Days Two, Three and Four. They showed up on time, worked efficiently and left. After the work was done, we had to wait an additional 48 hours for the floor to dry fully. The first crew helped us move a few heavy items, and sealed off items we couldn't relocate with plastic wrap and tape (to protect them from sawdust). The finished result looks gorgeous. It's too early yet to tell how it will last, but so far we're delighted.

The quaity of work done by the crew we had was poor quality and not what we expected when we contracted for the work. We learned at the end of the job that the crew was "learning". Jeff Jones, the owner, told us we should have been encouraging the crew which amazed us. We asked them to repair poor removal of stain near spindles which left gauges in the floor. If they weren't qualified to do the stairs or do them correctly Jeff should have not bid on doing the stairs. They begrudingly fixed areas where they had gouged the floor or there were particles/ hair in the finish.

We do not recommend using this service and are surprised at the A ratings he received. We limited our search to only A rating providers.

It's not perfect, but we were looking for a quick and dirty temporary fix, and that's exactly what we got.  The old stain did not come off of the edges of some of the boards due to warping.  Not ideal, but I'm sure it won't be noticeable once the furniture is in place (we're still waiting for the floors to cure thanks to this relentless rainy weather).
Jeff did an amazing job reattaching the loose boards considering the extent of the damage (so many boards!).  I found one partially popped up board after they finished work, but overall it looks great!
Since I was in and out while they were doing the work, I did have to track Jeff down a couple of times.   However, he was very quick to respond once I reached out.
Most importantly for us, he stayed right on budget.  No unpleasant surprises there.

We all know what a hassle it can be to have your hardwood floors refinished.
Not when you deal with Wood Art LLC! Alex was very professional set up the moving company to move our furniture into a portable storage unit, removed the carpeting and set up the disposal and after the job  was complete he set up the cleaning company to clean the house! all that and his quote was better than the other 2 companies that bid!  JOB WELL DONE!
