    Overall I have a great insurance plan.  Having worked at a hospital before I was laid off, I had exceptional health benefits.  I continued on with COBRA - hence the C for cost.  After my physical I received a bill for $25 for a co-pay and $70 for lab work.  I was under the impression that if it was part of an annual physical / preventive everything was paid 100%.  After contacting Aetna through their website (I always use the website) within 24 hours I had an answer.  I had to pay the $25 co-pay because electrocardiograms are not part of a normal physical so it was considered a separate treatment.  Therefore I had to pay the co-pay but they paid everything else.  As far as the lab work, I never really understood why laboratory procedures are considered a separate entity from the physical but because I have a deductible which I forgot about I had to pay the remaining $70. toward the deductible and  Aetna paid the rest.  So it all makes sense.  But whenever I have a question, Aetna is there to answer.  And if you still need assistance, they are there to advise and help you though whatever issues you may have. Except for the cost, I think Aetna is a great provider of health insurance.

    Connecticut Pharmacy of Madison
    They have only been open for 5 or 6 months but they're doing a bang-up job. It's a small store and they are very customer centered. They don't sell fireworks, food, and they don't sell things that are not related to a pharmacy. They have a very, very focused execution and they are extremely professional. The gentleman who is the pharmacist at this pharmacy is a part owner and I've known him for approximately 15 years. He is very in tune with the community and we very much like to see some features on him. He worked for another pharmacy in Madison, Connecticut and he was their chief pharmacologist. He left the group he was with and joined a new group. They have the Connecticut Pharmacy Company as 4 pharmacies are now in Connecticut, and they are attempting to grow and expand. They are really, really doing an extraordinarily customer-centric business. Overall, they are superior.

    Reliant Pharmacy LLC
    Reliant Pharmacy is the best! They are efficient, professional and caring. And they deliver!  We got fed up with the chain drugstores in Southbury -- the waits are interminable, they make mistakes and they're always crowded. Oh, and they don't even pretend to offer customer service. We have tried other independent local drugstores over the years, most recently a pharmacy in Woodbury.  Unfortunately, over the past 12-24 months our Woodbury pharmacy started making mistakes with increasing frequency.  To make matters worse, they repeatedly "forgot" to fill essential prescriptions. Not a good situation to find yourself in on the Saturday afternoon of a long weekend! So we switched to Reliant Pharmacy soon after they opened, and we couldn't be happier with the products and the service. Sandy is always willing to go the extra mile for her customers. During a recent Elmiron shortage (and if you know what Elmiron is, you know that it's a maintenance medication with no readily-available substitute -- and you can't just stop taking it for awhile, either).  So Sandy came to the rescue, and on her own initiative she called around to every pharmacy in the area to get it. She actually ended up compounding it for us -- what a lifesaver! If you're fed up with long lines and bad service from your pharmacy -- or if you need to have your prescriptions delivered -- do yourself a favor and switch to Reliant like we did. We can't recommend them highly enough.  BTW, because they compound, Reliant is also a great source for veterinary medicines, too.

    ANTHEM BLUE CROSS BLUE SHIELD OF CONNECTICUT
    In the many years I have used Anthem, I have been very happy with their service. Whenever I speak to customer service, I get whatever help I need, and they always are able to answer my questions. Occasionally I run into billing issues: We used to be covered through my employer's Anthem policy, and now we are under a new Anthem policy, through my husband's work-- on occasion the bill is submitted to the old policy and gets rejected. Whenever this happens (not Anthem's fault!) I call Anthem, and the issue is resolved quickly and without any problems. I would certainly be glad to continue using this insurance in the future.

    My surgeon did a super great job, installing my pacemaker don't even see a scar. |My issue was my hospital room was very noisy, could not sleep, alarms bells lots of noise |Whoever, shaved my body left hair on the skin next to the pacer un- shaved which, when the other |bandages started to shrink caused me extreme pain. |Also, I was very upset to find I could not fill my scrip 24 hours later for |My new pain, which I didn't know was coming from unsaved hairs lots of them |I could not fill my pain prescription because the doctor who wrote it at 20 York street, "NOT MY | SURGEON, OR MY DOCTOR, WHO INSTALLED THE PACEMAKER", LEFT OFF THE DEA NUMBER OFF THE | SCRIPT WHICH BECAUSE I HAD NO SLEEP FROM NOW ALSO THE PAIN, I COULD NOT DRIVE BACK TO 20 | YORK STREET TO GET A NEW SCRIPT, ALSO 20 YORK STREET WOULD NOT SUPPLY THE PHARMACY THE | DEAD NUMBER, SAYING THEY COULD NOT FIND THE DOCTOR; I WAS SLEEP DEPRIVED AND WAS | MAKING DUMB DECISIONS, finally, because I was also forced to be out of range of cell service my | surgeon who did the surgery figured out it was the bandages which I then removed, very quickly ripping |Out some of my skin near the bottom of the pacemaker, the only thing that upset me the most thinking | back is I broke a tooth from the pain and lack of sleep, it WOULD be was nice if 20 Yale work street | Paid for that, but they said it didn't happen on their property, but I felt they set me up for it to happen | So if you need surgery and you have a hairy chest, my advice is to make sure they do professedly job | shaving your body, and then to make sure after the surgery, to make sure they don't put bandages over | hairs, and don't leave, unless there's a DEA number on the script they hand you, which of course their | own people should have a system to double check all these mistakes | | |

    If you're in Connecticut and have Medicare And physicians you use currently, don't plan on coverage with united Health Care. They don't seem to cover any of my current physicians, nor any connected to the Yale New Haven system. (Seems they had an argument concerning coverage. )So unless you want catastrophic care only, go somewhere else for coverage! PS Medicare won't cover you if you have a health care provider, so you are screwed either way!
