    Johns Electrical Service Inc
John was prompt, quickly assessed the problem--a defective wall switch. Also checked wiring in junction box; since wires were taped up like mummies with electrical tape, he cleaned the wires and put proper clips on them. Would I use him again--absolutely!

It turned out that the motherboard for the unit had failed. He found that out and ordered the part which arrived the next day. Despite the threat of a blizzard, he returned as soon as I phoned -- he was there in about 35 minutes -- and completed the repair. Not many people would be as responsive, and not everyone would know what to do with the electronics. He was a bull-dog about getting it done correctly and promptly. I don't know how you can ask for more.

    PACE ELECTRIC SERVICE LLC
The project was delayed because of my electric company UI. They caused the delay in my project. However once they did what they was supposed to do, Pace Electric was on point and completed the project. And might I add, I didn't have to pay as much as I thought. Lovely! I will definitely use them again, and again, and again. On to the next project.

    Small Job Specialist Electric
I called Ken at Small Job Specialist Electric on a Monday and he returned my call within 90 minutes. Plus, he was able to come to my home the next day by 12:30pm to do the work that I had requested! The light socket inside of my front porch light fixture was at least 25 years old and it had bad wiring and a broken socket. Ken was able to replace just the socket without having to do any rewiring above the fixture which saved me a lot of money. He was also able to reuse my original light fixture (which I thought might have to replaced) which saved me even more money.
The same day that I called Ken for the electrical work, I had also contacted 3 separate handyman companies and left them messages asking for an estimate on removing the door knob to my bathroom closet door and replacing it with a new door knob with a keyed lock which I had already purchased. I also told them that I had a couple of other jobs that needed to be done in my home before the end of the year and that I would like estimates on those upcoming jobs too when they came to my home to replace the door knob.
However, by the time that Ken arrived at 12:30 pm on Tuesday, not even 1 of the 3 handyman companies had called me back yet. So I had planned to start searching Angie's list again for 3 new handyman companies to call as soon as Ken was finished at my home. I was having company at the end of the week and I didn't want the young children of my relatives going into the bathroom closet where I keep medicines, disinfectant sprays, etc. So while Ken was working outside on my front porch light fixture, I checked Ken's listing again online and I found out that he also does bathroom remodeling work  with his uncle too! So I asked Ken if he could install a new door knob for me with a keyed lock. He told me that even though he had never installed a door knob with a keyed lock before (his uncle does that type of work) he would check out the closet door for me and the instructions for installing the door knob with the keyed lock. After doing that, Ken was able to quickly replace the old door knob with the new door knob with the keyed lock in it. He also fixed the broken hinge on my closet door too!
Ken really saved me a lot of time because I no longer had to search again that day for 3 new handyman companies to call for estimates on installing the new closet door knob. I would then have to wait and see if at least one of those 3 companies would be able to do the job before my company arrived from out of state on that upcoming Saturday of the same week. So I was very satisfied with Ken's work and I will definitely call him back again next year for another estimate when I plan to  to renovate my entire bathroom from floor to ceiling!

    PACE ELECTRIC SERVICE LLC
I have been looking for a good electrician for a while and I finally decided to go with Pace Electric because of their good reviews on Angie's List. Mr. Kiminski and his son Peter arrived right on time and as soon as they walked into the mud room they both put shoe coverings on over their shoes so that they would not track any dirt into my home once they entered it. Each time that one of them went outside to retrieve something from their truck, they removed their shoe coverings and then replaced them again once they returned to the mud room. I was very surprised and also very pleased because in the past, every previous electrician, painter, plumber or handyman that I hired had never done that before they entered my home.

They immediately went right to work removing my old kitchen fan and then installing the new fan. Since my fan did not include a remote, Peter told me that if I wanted one in the future he would be able purchase a universal remote separately and then install it for me. After Peter installed the new GFI outlet, he showed me the correct way to test it and also told me that it should be tested at least twice a month. Later Peter called me over after he took off the wall plate to my kitchen outlet and he showed me a small, round hole in the back of the metal box which could have caused a fire if there was a spark or a short in the wiring. He told me that back in the 1970's those type of metal boxes with a hole in the back of it were commonly installed. He then showed me a small, round, metal plug he had with him which fit perfectly into the hole and would now prevent any possibility of a fire starting inside of the wall in the future if there was a short in the wiring.

One of the wall outlets in my family room had a short that had been causing the power to go out repeatedly in that outlet and also in two other wall outlets in the same room. As soon as Mr. Kiminski removed the wall plate to that outlet he found that a portion of one of the wires inside of the metal box had melted and that was what had caused the short. As soon as he told me that, I instantly asked him if he could replace the two other wall outlets too since they were also installed in the 1970's as well and they were used much more heavily than the other outlet that had the short in it. Even though there were two large pieces of furniture in front of both of the outlets (with very heavy electronics on each one of them), Peter offered to move each piece of furniture out slightly enough so that he could squeeze into the tight space behind them to reach each outlet. I was very appreciative of that because I have a lower back injury and I am not able to move any heavy pieces of furniture even if I have help.

So if you need any type of electrical work done in your home, I highly recommend Pace Electric. Mr. Kiminski and his son Peter are both dedicated professionals, offer a lot of great advice and they give only their best service to their customers. Plus, a big bonus is that they were very reasonably priced for all of the work that they did in my home. You will definitely be very satisfied with their expertise.

    JF Electric
I am an out of state home owner living in RI and could only be in CT for a few hours. I called a few companies and finally went with Joe (JF Electrical). He was friendly, easy to talk talk to, courteous, and very accommodating knowing I had to have electricity to the water heater that day  as the tenants did not have hot water. He came right away and worked on it. His work is impeccable!  He professionally wired the heater a new breaker neatly and with ease.  It was easy to see he was a true master electrician with over 30 years of experience. I was very satisfied and will be using him for any electrical work going forward.
I recommend him 100% on price, personality, Professionalism, and Quality.

It went very well. He is a very nice person to work with.

He responded promptly to my call and had the work done within 2 days of my initial call.

He got the work done quickly and cleaned up afterwards.

He gave me some estimates on  addition future work I had in mind.

He checked out some things and gave advice on what sort of things I should do with my older home to prevent any electrical issues.

It went well.  Chris was professional and great to work with.  There were a few projects that he identified would be too big for the allotted time (8 hours) - I was really hoping he could get to these things, but Chris was honest about the amount of time those projects would take, and so we moved on to some other smaller jobs on my checklist.  Overall, I think he comes at a great value.  He does good work, and the cost of parts and supplies were reasonable too.  We would definitely go back to Chris with any other electrical needs!

    Dean Russo
Dean Russo was referred to me by my Aunt for whom he had installed a service box for a generator.  He was referred to her by the Guilford Building Inspector.  Mr. Russo is very busy and is selective of his clients, "those that don't complain", he says.
It took a while to schedule an appointment. And he does his work quickly.  But the quality suffers.
He installed the service box utility panel seven degrees off center plumb.  It was conspicuously crooked.  I asked him to reinstall it to make it even.  He said he would,  He said that it would only take releasing 3 of the 4 bolts and pivoting it.  However, as I later found, it took much more since the ground terminals had been driven into the wall backing.  I left several messages with Dean.  He never showed up to fix the problem.  He didn't even have the courtesy to return my subsequent phone calls and e-mails after cashing my check.
I spend hours of my own time trying futilely to level the box.  Without the specific tools to release the lugs for the ground it was impossible to adjust.  Dean Russo promised to fix the box but never returned.
Dean Russo divides his time as a plumber and an electrician with, as he stated, a preference for doing plumbing.  He also flips houses.  He also owns a number of low income rental propery.  He is in demand.  He has a styish expensive white industrial van.  However, I would not hire him again.  His indifference toward his customers and preoccupation with affuence in disconcerting.  The fact that he usess low wage migrant workers to do the tough work, (ie digging the trench for my aunt's probane generator supply line), concerns me a bit too.  For those who may be concened, he also carries a hand gun,  proportedly for protection in low income neigborhoods.
I will be using a more seasoned professional who specializes in electrical work only, and is more meticulous.
