    Sears Appliance Repair
Excellent. The repairman was prompt, tested the washing machine several times to determine/confirm the initial diagnosis that a replacement pump was warranted to fix the problem, explained what he was doing and why, and had the replacement pump readily available in his vehicle. He was courteous and professional and me feel thankful that I had hired him to do the work.

    Action Appliance Repair
The technician was very courteous, professional and knew his stuff.  He gave me what the options were available and payment was reasonable.  I also got same day service, others that I called were not available for a week.

    RJ VEITCH APPLIANCE REPAIR
I contacted Veitch in mid November because one of the burners on my stove didn't work.  When I first spoke to them, I said that it was important that they schedule the appointment in the morning as my wife is legally blind and I'm not home in the afternoons.  The person on the line told me that Tuesday and Wednesday of the following week were available and that they had more flexibility on Wednesday to get here in the morning.  On the morning of the appointment they called and said that they would be here at 2:00 that afternoon.  My wife mentioned that they were supposed to be here in the morning and they shrugged it off.  To make matters worse, they didn't arrive until 4:00.
They determined that the burner had to be replaced.  A couple of days later, the company called and said that the burner would cost $225.00 with a $15.00 installation fee.  They scheduled an appointment, showed up, and discovered that they had ordered the wrong part.  Before they left, I asked them to let me know as soon as possible why the part didn't fit and if the part that did fit was still being manfactured.  I never received a call back.  I called them earlier this week and they said that they expected a shipment in on Thursday and they hoped that my part would be in it.  They called yesterday, December 20, and said that the part was in and that they would call between 8:00 and 9:00 to let us know when they would be here.  At 9:30 I had received no call, I called them and was told that they should be on their way.  They arrived at about 9:45, installed the part and the stove worked.  They then gave me a bill for $307.13.  Instead of the $225.00 part I was promised, they charged me $273 for the part.
I called Veitch after the repairmen left and told them of my dissatisfaction.  They said that the correct part was more expensive than the part that they had ordered (they never called me to tell me that the new part was more expensive). I was told that they were only human and that they make mistakes too.  I was also informed that I should be happy that I have a working burner for Christmas.
I will not use R.J. Veitch Appliance Repair again.  No one mistake individually was overwhelming but the totality of the mistakes and the companie's laissez faire attitude towards charging more than I was told was enough to dissuade me from returning to them.

    DOUG'S APPLIANCE
Overall, the technician was efficient and courteous and seemed knowledgable regarding various refrigerator brands and their failure and repair rates. He did not try to sell me anything. Only disappointment  is having to replace a 6 year old unit, but that has nothing to do with Doug's Appliance, rather GE which currently has an abysmal failure rate on refrigerators!

    Action Appliance Repair
Another service provider came twice. First he said a wire was loose. Problem was the same when he left. I called him again and he replaced a sensor. Resource cycle still not working. When I went down to clean in the laundry room, notice dryer vent was not connected or torn at bottom of dryer. The dryer vent was fine before the service provider was here. I called him, but he didn't return call for two days. In the meantime, I contacted Action Appliance, who came. The technician was honest. I didn't have to replace the dryer vent, but it was disconnected from the bottom of the dryer because the other service provider had not lined up the back panel properly after he removed it. The technician re-installed the back panel and re-connected the vent. The technician even went out to the back of the house to check that the vent was okay. He also indicated the drying problem was probably a sensor board, which he has dealt with before, but said it is very expensive. If I can use the timed cycle and be happy with that, I could save myself money and just wait until the dryer goes completely. The Action Appliance Technician (Dan) was very knowledgeable, polite, and competent. And Action Appliance has someone that answers 24 hours a day. The only issue is that I forgot to tell Dan at Action Appliance that I was entitled to the senior discount.

    Steve Donley Appliance Repair
Mr. Donley is prompt, but the original problem -- one cycle was not operating -- is still not operating. I am able to bypass this and use another cycle to dry my clothes. And I just noticed the vent, which was fine before the repair is now torn at the base where it connects to the dryer. Two visits ended up costing me $130.00 I would not use him again.

Larry was very accommodating with scheduling and even offered to come out the same day I called. The dryer is fixed and I am very pleased with the work he did. I would definitely hire Larry again.
