    Two men installed both units. I upgraded to high efficiency units that vent though the wall with 2" PVC pipe as part of getting rid of the chimney. This all started when I noticed a leaking chimney in the attic. It turned out to be excessive condensation in the flue caused by a very inefficient gas furnace (23 yeas old). Now I can have the brick work demolished and a new roof this spring. No more leaks. Price on units was significantly lower than area competition. My first gas bill with the new units was 30% lower than the previous month.

    John was personally referred to me by a friend in the area. Although I do not have the equipment to measure exhaust gas or flue draft, I have always performed my own oil burner maintenance. I hired John this time because I am selling my house and needed to have a qualified professional perform the oil burner service before closing. I left him a phone message on Monday and promptly received a response. We worked together to determine a mutually convenient time for the service. I arrived at the house yesterday and found John and his assistant there waiting for me. They were courteous and immediately began work. I requested that the old parts be left in a bucket and they were fine with that. They were tidy about the cleaning, using a professional soot vacuum that effectively captured all of the dust and odor from the boiler while they were brushing it out. While changing the filter, strainer and nozzle, they captured all of the oil and they attended to some other minor issues with the oil burner and fuel feed assembly that they noticed. They adjusted the draft controller and then used a modern digital exhaust gas monitor to adjust the air supply to the burner to provide proper combustion. They noted to me some possible issues with the quality of the oil I was receiving, but I wasn't terribly alarmed because I knew that I had left the tank nearly empty all summer which is a surefire way to accumulate a good amount of condensate in the bottom. All in all, I feel that John Carragan provided excellent service in a timely fashion, and showed me that he is acting in my best interest. He was not the best price that I received but he made up for it in his responsiveness. The other party beat his price by about $30 but they did not return repeated phone calls requesting an appointment. John was the complete opposite to that, and I am happy that the service was carried out so quickly.

    I did not use them; I used another company that was less expensive. Everything was fine, they were courteous, prompt. It did not work out for my need because It was more expensive than the other quotes.

    They worked quickly and extremely clean through out each phase of the furnace upgrade work. The workmanship on the island upgrade is exemplary. I now love my whole kitchen. Would definitely hire again

    They did a good job and it’s working properly. I think the setting up the appointment cost them not having an A rating. I had a hard time putting it forward. I couldn’t have the time that I wanted. As far as their service and all of the other stuff was good.

    I love my new heating and cooling system for my basement.  Mike was super professional and prompt.  His price was super reasonable compared to another highly rated business on Angie's List that wanted a couple thousand more for less service.  Installation was set up and done the same week of the consultation.   I just love the remote access and being able to control my unit from my smart phone.  Kudos to this company!

    I had called someone else last year who never returned my call.  Total Mechanical Systems responded to my contact via Angie's List in the first 24 hours.  I scheduled an appointment.  Marty was on time and started to work immediately.  He cleaned whatever it was that needed cleaning (sorry - can't remember the exact part).  Checked the rest of the system and left with the furnace functioning perfectly.  Marty was very pleasant and professional.  I will now call them for all my heating and cooling needs.

    The guys that came out to do our home energy audit where very professional.  They gave me an overall explanation of what they would be doing and as they did their work they updated me regularly as to what they where about to do next as they completed each part.   They found my boiler was a bit out of spec on the amount of CO2 it was producing and I suggested i have it looked at.  I took them up on getting one of their maintance teams over to look at it and to my surprise they where able to be here before the Home energy audit guys left so they where able to explain what they found face to face.  It turned out to be nothing major just a bent piece of metal a little to close to the flame cause a lose of efficient burn.

    Worst HVAC contractor ever. Extremely unprofessional and a hothead, he also cursed me out, calling me a piece of Sh**. Stood me up multiple times. Price was pretty fair but after 2 months of a job that he told me would take 4 days i was fed up.  The last time he stood me up  he said he would be there at 8....never showed, my wife was late to work because she waited there until 840. The next day I gave him a deadline 10 days away and he did not contact me for 5 days. That day he came for about 4 hrs and left and no contact for another 12 days which was after  the deadline. He contacted me 6 days after the deadline telling me he'd be there in 2 days which happened to have not worked for me. I said " I have someone coming today to give me an estimate to finish up. I gave you till the 15th and u didn't finish by then. I'm willing to extend it but it needs to get done already. If u can finish before I hire someone else then we will be ok but I really need you to make sure that everything is good with the registers that the last guy installed." to which he responded "If you hire someone else I'll see you in court." so I said "Ok, if you want to do it that way that's fine." then he said "I knew I should have never trusted you." so I responded "Likewise. After the first second and third time you pushed me off without so much as an explanation. I had the money sitting in my house to pay you and you knew that and you still took your time. You told me the job would take four days its been 2 months already"..... I let things cool off for a couple of weeks and called him and he started yelling and calling me a piece of s**t. So unprofessional and a hothead....Terrible experience for me but maybe youll have better luck.

    We called on Tuesday April 21,2015 and scheduled for a diagnostic appointment. My husband was told "we will be there Thursday of the same week between 12pm and 2pm." Our appointment was today and the 12pm to 2pm deadline has been missed. My husband after taking a full day of work off called at 3pm and spoke with a lady named Amy who then told my husband that our appointment had been rescheduled to MAY 21,2015. My husband then stated I would have called another company to come out if I had known it was that far out. My family cant go that long without hot water and heat. Needless to say we are still without hot water and heat.
