    Montambault's Auto Supply

Flex pipe in the exhaust of my 2002 Toyota Highlander rusted through. Montambaults made the appointment on Thursday afternoon for early Saturday and were ready to go when I arrived. Quick diagnosis in 15 minutes, then they came and explained the problem and the proposed repair and gave an estimate for the job. On my go ahead, the job got done in less than an hour and I was actually charged a bit less than the estimate. Got to watch the repair being done on closed circuit TV from their waiting room.

All of the mechanics working at this place are ASE Certified with their certificates on the wall of the waiting room which in my mind is an indicator of a quality shop. Definitely would go there again.

The only problem I have is the hourly rate, but they are good though. You get what you pay for. I hate going there because I have to wait to work 2 more weeks to pay it off, but it's worth it. About last year, we had a problem with the front lights. I took it over to them and they put the fuse in there and it was okay. The next day, it went out again so I called them and they told me to take it over there and they replaced it and it was okay within an hour. They do not work on weekends, but I know they are there on Thursdays until about noon. The pricing is high. It's the only high around here but considering I get there and get out, and I don't have to fool around with the other people here. The dealers have been here since we have been here. They are here for about 35 years and they built a new building. The quality is good. Their professionalism is excellent.

They repaired a leak around the catalytic converter. They were able to find a replacement flange that avoided having to replace the catalytic converter, which would have been a much more expensive repair. I've been dealing with Montambault's for over 20 years. I've never experienced anyone as honest as the owner, Ed Montambault. I once took a car in with very noisy brakes. I told them to go ahead and do a brake job and expected it to be about $600. They told me that the brakes were simply rusty because I had not used the car in a few weeks during a period of heavy rain. No Charge. I told them that I wanted to pay something to compensate them for the time spent putting the car on lifts and diagnosing the problem. The owner smiled and said, 'come back when you need something and recommend us to someone else'. I've been doing both ever since, and I've never regretted it.

The guy was so nice.  Many people liked him.  I always go to him for my oil changes regularly but he does other work as well.  He is honest, good man and does a good work.  He doesn’t overcharge you.  It was a good experience with him.

I found them to be honest and trustworthy. They do everything they say that they are going to do. I would be happy to recommend them to anybody. The air-conditioning worked fine after whatever they did.

    Denny's Transmission & Auto Care
I am a dinosaur living in the 21st century. I look for a place that provides old fashioned, honest service at a reasonable rate. I found all of this at Denny's. Denny will not mince words and sugar coat things when explaining whats wrong with your vehicle and what's entailed in it's repair. Your vehicle will not leave his shop until it is fixed perfectly. You will not pay the huge amounts that most shops will bilk you out of, especially in today's economy. You WILL recieve a high quality of service that you are sure to be happy with. Good, reliable, old fashioned, honest service.

    Ron's Antomotive Center
She picked the car up after they told her everything was done.  She barely made it out of yard because car would not run.  They stated she needed 4 new oxygen sensors.  She ok'd that again - Picked the car up on Thurs 6/20 - called them Fri. a.m. to let them know car was still running terrible.  They said to bring it in on Sat. a.m.  and that if the sensors had not fixed the problem they could remove them and credit the cost of them.  She was driving on the highway at 60 mph - Thank GOD nothing happened, but when she pulled into a bank parking lot, the front right wheel disconnected from the assembly.  Two different tow drivers told her that she should have been told that the car was unsafe to drive.  (In the list of items that they suggested to be taken care of was ball joint assemblies.)  It was NOT mentioned over the phone nor when she picked up the car that this was an unsafe vehicle.  She could have been killed if the assembly had let loose on the highway, not to mention some other innocent motorist.  We asked if they could remove the new radiator and sensors and refund the cost of these items they said NO - Why is it you can return most any item within 30 days of purchase for a refund - does this not cover auto parts??  This garage allows techs to tell customers the car would be safe for 3000 miles - another tech said we can take out and return sensors - and now they are stating nothing can be done - to reimburse us for the NEW parts that they put in.
Would you trust your vehicle to a repair shop  who won't tell you that a vehicle is unsafe?  Granted there was a lot of things that needed done - but a simple - NOT SAFE TO DRIVE - would have prevented this from happening.
I would never suggest anyone using this repair garage - Not being mechanics, we need to put our trust in those who are trained to do the work, and the very least we should get is honesty about how safe the vehicle is.
The reason I know how this played out is because I was the one paying for the repairs and my daughter called after each encounter to 1. get permission for additional cost and 2.  that the car would be safe to drive.
