    I waited months to write this review because I wanted be fair. I followed Dr. Julie Sheen from another office to Aucello and Assoc. in S. Windsor because she is a good doctor. I was satisfied with her service to her clients. However, getting fitted for glasses at Aucello was a most disappointing experience. I have been wearing eye glasses for more than 30 years and I have never had a problem finding eye glass frames that were comfortable. The sales woman at Aucello was aggressive and wanted to sell me three pairs (without asking me what I wanted). I told her I wanted bifocals for work and prescription sunglasses for driving. The
    most important factor to me was function. If I could see and the glasses were comfortable then I would be happy. I needed the bifocals for my job where I would wear them all day long for use at a computer.
    The woman pulled a few pair (very high end) and insisted what looked the best even though I emphasized function. I allowed myself to be talked into them, and over $1,000 later, ended up with bifocals and sunglasses that were way too heavy for my petite face; they hurt and created deep indentations on my face after only 10 minutes. I returned more than 8 times for adjustments within a 3 week period and finally insisted this was crazy and wanted my money back. The company had recently opened and the return policy wasn���t posted; the staff said they couldn���t provide a full refund and suggested they could provide replacement
    pairs, however I would have to work with the woman who originally fitted me and made all the adjustments that didn���t work.
    My mistake was agreeing to replacements. I desperately needed eye glasses as my prescription had changed. Although the woman did choose lighter weight frames, I informed her the sunglasses were too big/wide for my face and they weren���t comfortable. She said they didn���t have many light weight ones in the showroom, and that these were perfect and I needed to get used to them.
    Long story short, the sunglasses are too big/wide and difficult to see out of - just as I had told her. After a month I put them in a drawer (biggest waste of money) and now use my old sunglasses for driving until I can afford a new pair with the updated prescription. When I informed the sales woman the sight line of the bifocal that she marked up was too high (before she put in the prescription) she said it would look odd if she lowered it. She further stated she used to be an optometrist and she knows what she is doing. I struggle every day at work trying to see because the sight line is too high. I will not go back there because she just doesn���t listen to the customer. For perspective, I have never, ever had glasses adjusted, nor replaced, for the 30 years I have been wearing them. I usually try on a few, choose a pair, pick them up and wear them for 2-3 years before I need a new prescription. As much as I like Dr. Sheen I won���t go back to this office again. You can judge for yourself based on this feedback whether this is the place for you.

    I see this same doctor every year for an annual exam. Office staff are prompt at signing you in and taking you back to the examingroom. An assistant performs prelimiary tests and administers eye drops to dialate eyes. I was then asked to go back to the waiting room while my eyes dialated. I was call in about ten minutes to return to the examingroom. The doctor performed his exam and told me all was well but I needed to get new glasses. I exited the office as my visit was done.

    They were very friendly over there.  I was only there one time.  They weren't accepting my insurance any longer, so I had to switch to a different provider.  Although I only went once, they were very friendly when I was there.

    My insurance is lousy for it. They are okay. They are extremely busy. There are a lot of slow downs. I feel like I am in a cattle car and they are processing me. It is a sale before I even sit down. It is a franchise. Their availability is okay.

    This was a regular yearly visit. Dr. Ferentini is very thorough and careful, addressing any and all questions and issues both my husband and I have. At the previous exam, my husband had a stye which affected his prescription and she remembered and altered his prescription this visit. The staff take time to help choose new frames and when they noticed one of my lenses were scratched, they made sure it was replaced while still under warranty.

    We made appointments; they were quick getting us in and eye exams were efficient and professional. They took plenty of time assisting us with choosing frames for glasses and sunglasses and offered reasonable pricing for goggles. They made suggestions about the type of lenses needed and did not automatically try to sell us the most expensive lenses. When we bought goggles, they kept the prices reasonable by suggesting the I could use a close but not perfect prescription(one that did not correct the astigmatism as mine is minor)thereby saving us nearly $100 on the goggles alone. The glasses all came in a very timely manner and they spent much time making certain they were adjusted correctly. When mine did not quite feel right, they easily readjusted them until they felt better.

    I have been seeing thisI h doctor for about 25 years now. My last visit went smoothly. He examined me for vision, glaucoma and cataracts. He did this all without causing any discomfort.
