Basement Waterproofing reviews in Trumbull

    All Dry Basement Systems LLC
Joe came out first to assess the water damage in our basement. He was thorough and professional. Best of all, he did not pressure us to make a decision as some other companies had. The two men who came to do the work were outstanding. Besides the noise from some drilling, you wouldn't even know they were there. The work done was top of the line and best of all, we have a dry basement! Would recommend this company a thousand times over!

The job took 1.5 days because I had moved everything to the center of the basement. They had 5+ feet of clearance around the perimeter, with plastic covering hung from floor joists. The dust still managed to cover everything behind the plastic walls. My advice: do a thorough job of sealing the space or be prepared to have a big dust cleanup. Only disappointment was that the drain at the foot of the steps to the bilco doors was positioned directly below the internal door. You cannot install a sill on top of this so when finishing we will now have a dangerous transition. This was never explained. Otherwise, a great crew.

Jeff came to my house as promised and on time to assess my asbestos and mold issue in basement as well as give me an idea about how they would address wet basement issues.   He seemed very knowledgable, was extremely professional and helpful.  He gave me a ton of info, some great advice and explained clearly what they would do and how they would do it.   I was very confident that I had found the right provider, was excited to work with him and barring an outrageous quote was definitely planning on going with them.

unfortunately the quote never came.  I waited over a week and then called.  Spoke with someone who said they would talk to Jeff and get back to me that day.  Did not hear from them.  I waited another week or so and called again, got voicemail, left a very detailed message about what I had experienced so far but was also clear I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and still work with them based on my initial meeting if they could explain the delay.  Still did not hear back from them.  Finally, found the card Jeff gave me in my car another week or so later and tried a direct email.  Again, radio silence.

Based on other reviews I've seen here this seems a rather common complaint.  I'm not sure why, as I would have been ok waiting several weeks/months for them to do the work if a busy schedule was the issue if only they had told me that.  This complete lack of follow up communication is both puzzling and frustrating and extremely unprofessional.

The salesman was friendly and thorough in explaining the company's products, and the serviceman came out when scheduled and performed the work quickly. He also replaced rotted window frames at no extra charge. The windows look great, and we have no complaints. We need more windows replaced, and depending on how our new windows do during the winter, we'd be happy to use them again.

    Attack-A-Crack Foundation Crack Repair
I sent an email to Attack a Crack detailing some cracks I saw in my slab foundation and included some pictures of the issues.  About 15 minutes later Luc called me.  He took the time to explain to me that the cracks I saw were normal settlement cracks and nothing to be concerned about and would not need repair.  He was extremely friendly and even though he was not making any money off of me, he stayed on the phone and went into detail about the (non) issues.
I've dealt with numerous contractors and businesses.  Luc is a cut above the rest.  He didn't try schedule any unnecessary work just to make a buck. I really appreciate an honest and professional person like Luc and I'll be recommending him and his company to anyone who mentions any foundation issues.

The waterproofing went fine. Very professional crew came and excavated around the perimeter of basement and installed the system then repoured the concrete. We had no issues with that work. They were punctual, cleaned up after themselves and did a good job.
The major major problem was with the subcontractor the company used to re-install the wood framing and re drywall the finished room. His mistakes were further compounded by the very poor response of the company to his horrible workmanship. He worked over three days to re-place the wood studs that had been removed around the room and had to replace the "baseplate" floor studding as well. He did not properly align the bottom floor stud (in some cases it was off by 3+ inches) and most of the studs he replaced were crooked. There is no way that drywall can be installed on the framing that he built.  He later admitted that he had showed up for the job after a "3 day bender" (his words). The work he did to re-stud and re-drywall the bedroom was a disaster. He had to re-do it and it still was not level. (We have since repainted the room and there is a clear line around the room at knee height where he  replaced the bottom half of the wall as it bows outward. When the carpet was reinstalled and baseboards replaced, the baseboard had to be cut down by 1.5 inches because the new wall was off that much from the pre-existing wall. The contractor we used for the carpet job noticed right away that the walls were not done correctly. None of the baseboard will lie flush against the wall and will need to be caulked extensively (one wall has a gap of 1/4").
When we attempted to rectify this situation with customer service, we had a major run-around. The customer service manager was dismissive, condescending and not at all helpful. Ultimately the owner of the company came out. We ended up giving up on getting the finished room done correctly, and settled for a sub-par job because we need the room to be finished. We were able to reach a compromise on the stud-work in the rest of the basement.
We were told we would be given a 2-year warranty (instead of 1 year) on the workmanship. Despite a follow-up email requesting this in writing, the company has not yet responded to us.
We would like to recommend this company to others because of the quality workmanship with the waterproofing. However, as long as they continue to use this subcontractor for their carpentry needs, we do NOT recommend them. We also believe they need to improve their response to valid customer complaints.

    TBS Basement Waterproofing
Workers were professional courteous and neat. One or two hiccups as to start date but the job was done in one week as promised and we are happy with the result. TBS is a leader if not the leader in this field and they know how to produce a quality result.

The job was done in two days.  The workmen were industrious, completing it in the time promised.  And they did a good clean up
job as well. We are very happy with the results.

After we moved into our house last July, a couple storms moved through the area, overwhelming our sump pump and causing flooding in our unfinished basement.  We also noticed seepage in the corners of our basement after the storms.  We contacted 5 basement waterproofing companies in September and 3 came to our house to give us an estimate.  Bill from Basement Solutions was one of the last ones; we had him come to the house in early October.  We decided to hire him for several reasons: he replied to us promptly and scheduled a visit to give us an estimate in a reasonable time frame, his price was comparatively reasonable, he gave us references, and he was a genuinely nice person.  He really took the time to answer all of our questions and he was professional.  He didn't talk badly about his competitor's products (which some of the other companies we talked to did).  What really set him apart was the fact that when he was at the house giving us the estimate, our basement had flooded again and he offered to send his crew over to install a replacement sump pump to get us by, even before we agreed to hire him.   We went ahead and booked him; the work was scheduled for 2 days in early December.  His crew arrived promptly, worked efficiently, and the basement was cleaner when they left than when they started.  It's been almost a year and we've had no problems with water seepage or flooding.
