    ASPHALT ENGINEERS
Richard immediately came out, clearly explained what was involved in the job and quoted a price that was very reasonable in comparison to other contractors. He and his team started the job on time and finished when he said they would. Very professional. They cleaned up after themselves, were very pleasant and did great work. Highly recommend and will use them again in future. Driveway looks great!

    Nardi Masonry and Paving
Nardi was supposed to come by to give us an estimate in our driveway. He never showed up. We called to see what was going in and were told he was busy and would call us back to reschedule. He never did.

    Stutz Driveway Sealing and Repair
I found Mr. Stutz here on Angie's List with some very good recommendations, one bad for a job not performed. I called his office/home and spoke to his wife on a Thursday (Aug.20th.) and was told that by Sunday that same week, Mr. Stutz would stop by and give me an estimate, no show. A week later I called again and Mrs. Stutz told me that her husband was busy and waiting for an opportunity to come to my town (10 minutes away) to see my driveway, again no show. Today (9/3/15) on my way home from work I passed by a house 4 blocks away from my house and noticed a finished driveway with a sign "Done by Jim Stutz", I called him again and this time he answered the phone. Upon identifying myself, Mr. Stutz refused to come to my house and declined doing the job. When asked why, he told me he was unprofessional and should call me before but he was busy to talk and hung up the phone.

    Nardi Masonry and Paving
Mr.Nardi came out and gave an estimate to replace our old driveway and retaining wall. After discussing the options with us we wnet with the field stone for the wall and Belgian block border along the driveway. The crews that came out to do the work were great they answered any questions we had. The job they did was excellent we are very happy with the final product and would hire them again for any other projects we need.

    Hug Paving And Sealing
I left a message with Hug, and Gary got back to me in a timely manner, and came to measure the driveway and give an estimate.  Gary was very professional, coming prepared with a mostly-written detailed estimate (based on our phone conversation); he filled in the remaining portion after he had taken his measurements and we had discussed what I wanted.
I received two other quotes from pavers with decent grades on Angie's List.  Gary's quote was in the middle of the two other quotes ($3200 and $3950) I obtained, and I felt Gary was the easiest guy to get along with, as well as the most professional (the other two quotes I received were scribbled on the back of business cards).
After I had chosen to go with Gary, and had sent him a 50% down payment, we talked on the phone and he said it might be three to four weeks before he could do the job because of all the recent rain we'd had... it had really backed up his schedule.  But then he called a few days later (a significant job had been postponed, I guess) and said "how about tomorrow".  Great!
Gary and his crew showed up at noon, as promised, on a Wednesday, and they removed the old driveway, except for a functioning drain in front of the garage, around which they cut a square (that square of concrete, which was in great condition, remains) so as not to damage the drain while removing the rest of the concrete.  After hauling away the concrete, they placed wood borders as an outline for the new driveway.  Gary and crew were back the next morning at 8am to lay down the processed stone, compact it, and then lay down the asphalt.  They were done around 12:30.
I particularly appreciated the fact that Gary was on site for the entire project (except when he had to drive the dump truck off to dispose of the concrete, and again to obtain the asphalt).  Gary himself is good-natured and easy to get along with--I felt quite comfortable hiring him.  His crew were equally friendly.  They were professional and very careful in their work.  The driveway came out excellently.
My quibbles (nothing's ever perfect) are minor, giving a 'B' for cleanup: most of the bits of rubbish that they unearthed were removed (but not all); and though they didn't leave any of the clumps of grass (and weeds) that got torn up from the edges of the driveway lying around, the crew did choose to use those clumps to fill in the gap around the wooden borders (between wood and lawn), which ended up looking kinda bleh when the uprooted grass turned brown... would have been best to just leave that gap for me to fill in with topsoil.  Oh, and I totally didn't think about their need to spray down the new driveway with my hose, which is unfortunate as my *brand new* (like, within days... doh!) hose got a bit stained by being dragged about on new asphalt... I'll take 80% of the fault for that one.  So, really minor quibbles, as I say.
Also, they did intentionally leave the wood (white pine, I'd guess) borders in place, which did surprise me a little--Gary said they'd turn a darker brown and become vaguely noticeable--and I admit I can see (based on a Google search for asphalt care) where they could be helpful in that the edge of the asphalt is unsupported otherwise.  ...And I could certainly pull them up if I really wanted.
Overall I was extremely pleased, and would be glad to hire Hug Paving again.  I recommend them.

    Nardi Masonry and Paving
They also removed an old concrete walkway to the front door and replaced it with blue stone in stone dust per our request. Came out looking really great. Could not be more pleased. Total price for both was also the best.

    Premiere Industries LLC
From Ryan?s first visit to provide me with an estimate, to the preparation and completion of the job, everything was done in a highly professional manner.
Premiere has a highly skilled, experienced, crew and they put in the time needed to do a great job, not rushing or using shortcuts, but
still finishing on the schedule originally stated.
The job came out beautiful, and that, of course, is most important, but there were the other things that I appreciate.  Like the way they blended the uneven grade, leveled the driveway, and contoured it so it seamlessly blended into the landscape.
I look forward to working with Ryan again when the need arises and will certainly recommend Premiere to others.

    P&S Paving Inc
There were some minor issues with the workmanship; we get a couple big puddles when it rains. They came out and looked at it but there's nothing they can do to fix it unless they were to redo the driveway entirely. The driveway is usable.

    Hug Paving And Sealing
We had contacted two other companies for driveway sealing - one never responded, the other arrived but never responded with a quote or appeared again. Found Hug through Angie's List, called, and Gary responded, in person, recommended that we not spend the money to fill cracks since they aren't deep cracks and only seal. Arrived on date selected to do the work but because weather indicated rain, set a new date. Called ahead, arrived when he said he would, did the work perfectly, looks great. His crew is cordial and excellent at what they do, Highly recommend Gary and Hug.

    Hug Paving And Sealing
I wasn't satisfied with the work.  They actually sold the company, so it is not the owner who used to own the company.  I wasn't quite happy with them.  I read on Angie's list that they did a great job, and Hug was wonderful.  He comes out to give a quote; but he doesn't own the company anymore.  Somebody else owns it, so technically it is not owned by the Hug anymore.  They bought the name and the reputation; but that's not who they are anymore.  It looks nice; but when it rains, it is not pitched correctly, and there is nothing I can do about it now.  It was really good price.
