    Merchant left the cap off the chimney and when trying to schedule time to come back to complete the job they hung up on my wife twice. So not only did the botch a routine cleaning they behaved in the most unprofessional manner. I would advise avoiding this company.

    Showed up promptly (actually a little early) and the 2 guys cleaned the 2 fireplaces simultaneously. They were in and out in about an hour. So clean you wouldn't know anyone had been near the fireplaces/chimneys.

    Top Notch/Mike is the best contractor we've ever worked with. Mike and his assistant do meticulous work with great attention to detail. We had fired our previous contractor and Mike came to the rescue - finished our siding project, reinstalled windows that were installed incorrectly, did a small stucco job, did a small roofing job, installed copper flashing and completed the most beautiful interior trim around our windows. In addition, Mike is reliable and provided itemized accounts of precisely what he and his workers accomplished each day. They showed up every day until the job was complete - we could not be any happier with their work. Hoping they will help us remodel our kitchen next. Top Notch is the best.

    Everything went smoothly. I was given updates regarding their approximate time of arrival and was given an honest assessment of the state of my chimney and did not try to sell me anything I didn’t need. I will absolutely call them next time I need a cleaning or any work completed.

    If you need a new roof, stop looking right now. Louie and his crew did a fantastic job. It was quick, high quality, and at a reasonable price. Our roof and chimney were in bad shape. We discovered many problems as the job progressed. Nevertheless, In just 3 days, he addressed all our concerns and made our 33 year old house look brand new! What Louie says is true, he repairs your roof as if it were his own.

    This is the second year I've purchased wood from Log On and on both occasions, the quantity delivered was a lot less than agreed. Last year I paid for a full cord but a little over a 1/2 cord was delivered. Last year I called Mike, the owner, who brought the additional wood. No problem. I assumed someone made a mistake, but the same thing happened again this year. However, I naively paid the driver the full amount who promised that Mike would make good on the missing 1/2 cord. After a few days, there was nothing and my repeated calls went unanswered. I know believe that Log On believes & hopes that customers have no idea how much goes into a cord (when stacked it should measure 4' X 4' X 8' ). A secondary problem this year was that the wood was not aged as advertised. My advice: AVOID Log On

    This is possibly one of the most atrocious companies i have ever had the displeasure of dealing with from a customer service perspective. From reading the reviews this is not an isolated incident. We had 5 star come out to do a chimney cleaning from Angies list. At which point the terracotta flu stack was clearly in poor shape. We where quoted for a stainless steel flu install, ash pit clean out, ash pit door install, re-pointing on the chimney breast and firebox/hearth as well as some brickwork and patch up. I was happy with the quote after receiving two more at a similar cost and commissioned 5 star to do the work. The work that was carried out was of sufficient quality however this is the only mild positive that i could give to the company. Everything that followed left me bewildered as to how they are still in business. 1. One of the service engineers vomited in my garden "because he drank too much coffee". Not at all because he was hung over. I was left to clean this up after he tried to kick it into the bushes. 2. They arrived late to my all day appointment and had to leave early to attend to another customer. This meant the ash pit clean out and door where not completed despite being paid for. This is where the problems started. 3. They never called back to re-arrange an appointment to complete the work. 8 months later i was still left chasing them for an appointment. They have never been proactive in resolving the issues. I have always had to chase them. 4. Customer service at this company is abysmal. My calls where never returned despite the promise by everyone that they would be. Equally, everyone at the service center seems to be a manager when you try and escalate an inquiry. 5. I finally re-organized an appointment and had someone attend my property to be there for the engineer. The booking was for between 3-5. At 4:15, after calling the service center myself i was told that he had to "pop over the border to Massachusetts". We live in southern CT and as such he was clearly further away than the 45 minutes i was quoted. To that end, he was very late and my attendee had left. I never once received a call from the service center or engineer advising to his whereabouts. Apparently the engineer was impossible to contact and no one knows why. As such, they missed the appointment and he just left the ash pit door on my back deck. Presumably for me to install myself? 6. I attempted to call the service department 15 times from 4.45 to 6 pm on the day of my appointment and no one answered. Apparently on Friday they have variable times at which they close despite their website saying 6pm. I left messages on their website, Facebook page and voicemail's. Nothing was returned. 7. I have now had to call 6 times to get a refund on the incomplete parts of the original quote. Each time, i am promised a return call to confirm the refund to no avail. Each time financing seems to be "in a meeting". I am yet to receive a refund and i have just called again today. My recommendation would be to avoid this company like the plague. Whilst the work carried out was satisfactory, the customer experience was one of my worst to date. I rarely write reviews for companies because i have always been diligent in doing my homework, however, the reviews for 5 star ventilation do not reflect my experience whatsoever. There are far more reputable vendors out there.

    Despite the initial bad experience, the owner called me after seeing my review. He took full responsibility and apologized profusely for my inconvenience. He also indicated the gentleman in question was no longer with the company and arranged a full refund of my $89. So although my experience was not good, the service recovery was excellent. Evidently this is a company that stands behind their work and reputation for customer satisfaction.

    These guys were awesome. The appraiser was to the point and explained exactly what needed to be done. He made recommendations that would be cost efficient for the job. The two guys who came to do the project were friendly and worked efficiently. Great value for the job that was done. Highly recommended for any roofing needs.

    They did a good job, but they are not exactly customer friendly. The technician who came out was trying to upsell me the entire time. He also gave me false information on cleaning the chimney so that I would use his services instead of doing it myself. He also refused to clean the ashpit saying that it is better to just leave it there when that is actually a health code violation. He was trying to sell me a few products I didn't need because I guess he thought I was completely ignorant on the subject. That is what I mean by not being customer friendly. He was not looking out for what I needed he was just trying to sell as much as he could. They did have competitive pricing on what I had services, but I am not sure about the other stuff that they proposed. They did a good job. They came out the next day and were here when they said they were going to be. I really didn't care of the upselling.
