    MHO MOVERS
MHO movers handled every aspect of the move professionally and promptly, from the initial estimate to the actual move. Mike answered all of my many questions and Joe and his team were wonderful on the day of the move. Not only will I use them again when I am ready to move my belongings out of storage, but I would highly recommend them to my clients and friends.

    Jon's Moving
I called Jon the week before the move date, and he said he had an availability. Quoted me a price for 3 persons and a van that was VERY competitive. Did not wish to charge me for time spent for his van to get there, and any transport charges (which I have been before) I have been involved in 5 moves in the last 4 years - not just for myself, but helped friends arrange moves. Have used all the big names that advertise, and the smaller ones with high ratings on this website. Jon did not need toc ome over for an estimate, and I felt he was very relaxed - so relaxed that I messaged him to twice to confirm we were still on. I need not have worried The movers were planned to arrive between 12-1 pm on the day, but instead came 1115 AM - I was still rushing to pack last minute stuff. They had finished their previous job early - they quickly got to moving stuff that had been packed and moving the furniture while I finished up the last minute stuff. All three movers - Jason, Matt and ?Mike (I apologize for forgetting the third name) were on the ball and professional. Disassembled things quickly, and carefully (both my previous last two moves involves a broken King size bed) They also managed to break down the large Ikea bed into 3 component parts (without any manual), transported and assembled it at the destination in no time. The entire move took 4 hours from start to finish, the fastest I have ever moved a 2 room house - and best of all, no damage and did I mention, they were courteous. I will DEFINITELY be using them again when/if I move again and recommend them with NO reservation

    Bema Brothers Moving
I've used Bema before and found the guys to be not only strong dudes qualified for heavy lifting but had the light touch for fragile items and carefully squeezing into tight spaces without damaging surrounding doorways and walls. They are professional, proactive and consultative - not just a bunch of lugs who do your beck-n-call, especially when you do need advice because you don't even know the best way to do it yourself!   Previously, they had moved our really heavy 48" range into the middle of the kitchen space and 36" (but tall 84") fridge out of storage - the kitchen was partially renovated but we had to start using the new appliances while they were still under warranty.  Long story on the partially renovated kitchen, but we had to wait months for stuff to arrive and could not take the range off the pallet and push it into place until everything around it was done.  Finally the needed components around the kitchen arrived and were installed, Bema came back to take the range off its pallet and slide it into place, making sure all of the gas, water and electric lines behind it were OK.  It was super heavy but the guys managed with straps and a little grunting. The heavy drawer microwave also required a bit of finesse to install and the guys were careful to not damage the cabinetry and helped with the electrical connections.  This had to be done by sliding the fridge out of its cabinet because the electrical line had to drop behind it for the microwave oven.  Bema did a great job as usual and we couldn't be happier.  We would most likely have more heavy lifting/moving required from/to storage - guess who we gonna call?

    Bema Brothers Moving
Nick at Bema Brothers was incredible professional and easy to work with. We faced complications due to heavy rain expected on our move date and Nick was able to gather a crew and truck to move us on a Sunday to avoid our belongings getting soaked and all the hassle of moving in the pouring rain.
I found the crew he worked with to be hard workers and extremely polite. All of our furniture was handled with great care. Special chairs that I had were wrapped and driven separately in a pick up to ensure their safety. I would recommend Bema to any of my friends moving in the future.

    Bema Brothers Moving
Nick had come in a week earlier to assess what  needed to be done as this type of move was not typical.  Both the refrigerator and range required white glove treatment and had to go up steps and squeeze through a narrow opening into the kitchen - and of course they were both really heavy.  The couch was moved to the basement during construction and since then, the basement stairs have undergone some reconstruction and became a bit narrower and it was questionable that the couch could come back up the same way again.  Definitely challenges. The quote was fair and needed 4 guys.  On moving day, indeed all 4 were needed.
They cautioned me that the refrigerator going up the steps and its height would require it to be angled and tipped quite a bit during the move - and to not plug it in for 24 hours or the compressor would blow.  Good tip - confirmed by plumbers who came in that afternoon to hook up the range and they said the same thing about the fridge, don't plug it in and even they didn't want to hookup the water line for the icemaker yet until the fridge has stabilized.  I couldn't possibly know this, so Bema saved me quite a bit of heartache and $$$ as I was prepared to put all the food back into the very expensive European fridge and plug it in within the hour.  Better to throw out the fridge contents.
Another excellent tip when they moved the very heavy range into the kitchen when we were not able to slide it permanently in place yet (because we are waiting for a replacement counter to arrive next to the range and had to put the backsplash install on hold)  the range's legs would make indent marks on our newly stained hardwood floor if we left it in the middle of the kitchen and they felt it was best to place the pallet on the floor first, which would distribute the weight of the range and not leave marks on the floor.  I didn't think about that either, so we were spared living with 4 round indents in our kitchen floor.
The chunky couch was surrounded by storage items in the basement and the guys moved stuff around, got the couch to go out the Bilco doors to the backyard and came back in through the patio doors with a bit of maneuvering.
The young guys were all friendly, courteous and communicate well with each other when part of the move got challenging.  All in all, a great job done efficiently and without a hitch, plus got some valuable advice.  Better to go with knowledgeable movers like Bema and not have to suffer the consequences later.

Two Men and a Truck - Norwalk
Fred Shaw is the operations manager. They failed to move everything including kitchen cabinets, full rooms full of items, and pictures and rugs, they had to go back the next day to get the rest of my belongings, when they did they tried to charge me extra even though I had already paid for the full job. When they went back they did not pack the items they just threw them in boxes. The customer service is terrible and I have also reported to the BBB.

Infinity Moving & Storage Inc - NYC
I contracted for a crew of four(4) movers.  On moving day they showed up with only a crew of three(3).   They attempted to substitute a more expensive contract a slightly lower per hour rate ($131/hr instead of $133/hr).
     -
They were unable to deliver a crew of four(4).  I refused the services which they tried to substitute. Without ever entering the premises, they claimed that there were more items than in the list I sent them and then used this as justification to claim they tried to renegotiate the contract so as to get the money from the credit card company.
     -
My impression is that they have a deal of experience in getting money out of credit card companies and a script that they stick to in order to do so, regardless of the facts.   This is going to court.

    Arpin Movings
I interviewed two other movers but was most impressed with the Derosier representative who seemed unusually knowledgeable and very professional. My husband and I planned to do part of the moving ourselves of clothing, books, kitchen contents, china, crystal, silver and some objet d'art, and were able to carry that out prior the move but ran out of time to be able to pack and transport our extensive art collection. The Derosier crew handled that extremely well, packing the art work and furniture on April 26th as well as packing two sets of china, art works, and furniture we were giving to our children--two of them in different Connecticut towns--and delivered them that day.
Derosier had expected to make the move from Westport to Southport that same day, but when it began to rain, the foreman asked if we would mind our delaying until the next day. Needless to say, we were delighted. The crew arrived early the next day to glorious sunshine and completed the move by early afternoon. As our townhome is new with polished hardwood floors and brand new paint, they made sure to set out padded tarps over floors, stairway, railings, etc. A heavy glass table was set up in the dining room and painstakingly placed. A five-piece breakfront credenza was installed in the media section of the living room and a TV incorporated in it. We asked them to empty the heavy items from boxes, including lamps, shades, etc., but to deliver the art work and boxes of objet d'art to the garage where we could gradually empty and place them. They removed all the empty boxes and offered to return when we had more refuse that needed disposal.
On both days the crew was particularly solicitous, asking questions whenever misunderstandings could occur. The packers were extremely experienced. We have made two overseas moves so our expectations are high, but we felt that Derosier met those expectations--and maybe more so. They were more expensive than the other two firms interviewed but worth the happy result.

Two Men and a Truck - Norwalk
I had a decent experience with them. The move out of Manhattan was difficult as their truck is big and there is not much room on the street to pull over. They handled the problem well. The guys were good but a bit rough with the furniture leaving a few gouges in the wall while moving an admittedly difficult sofa. Two hrs. in transit to CT which is acceptable. Good unload and move in CT. Overall, a good experience with a semi difficult move. I would use them again but would be cautious if moving art or antiques.
