AAdvanced Surveying LlcWe wanted to get an Elevation Certificate to determine whether we could remove our home from the required FEMA Flood Insurance map. Gregory responded immediately, and performed the work in a professional, pleasant manner. He explained how we could submit his Elevation Certificate to FEMA to request the LOMA, but we preferred for him to do it on our behalf. He prepared the materials, submitted them, and we received the hoped-for revision to the map, removing requirement for flood insurance. Definitely recommend him!- Joseph L.

AThomas C Merritts Land Surveyors PCOverall this project went well. I have a half acre property that straddles Scarsdale and New Rochelle. The property line was not very easy to identify. That's why I initiated the project. Everyone was professional, courteous and responsive. I was kept informed of steps in the process and also had a prompt follow-up after the work was completed. That is a map with the stake location was e-mailed to me immediately after completion. I would recommend Thomas C Merritts.- James C.

AAdvanced Surveying LlcI recently used Advanced Surveying for a unique survey project to clarify property lines between neighbors where specific boundaries were only generally guessed. Gregory Kogan provided effective and efficient communication to clearly define the scope and objective of the survey. He demonstrated careful diligence in the accuracy of all measurements including the location of a boundary stake a foot beneath the ground in an area well off from any of our ‘guesses’. My property is one acre residential, wooded, with wet-land areas, shared long driveway, and sections of heavy under-growth. The survey was rolled out smoothly, staking was visual with consideration to various obstacles, survey work schedule and expectations were discussed and communicated with no issues or misunderstanding. AThis is such a fantastic office! They have been extremely helpful in the survey, doing phenomenal work, and have also helped recommend designers to plan the addition (the designer was so professional and also did amazing work!) They also recommended a great site manager (from conservation) for the project. All around this office is highly professional, knows what they are doing and are well-connected to help your project go as smoothly as possible!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

FHorrible! I've actually used them before years ago, with no issues, but this time, they never responded to my email replying to their proposal that I'd like to move forward. Then when I followed up on the phone, the person went on vacation and someone said, we'll get back to you. They never got back to me, so I followed up again. At that point, they said they'd get the survey taken care of and gave me a date. The date passed, and I called again to follow up and again, no one called me back! I finally got a hold of someone, and they said that they wouldn't get out to do it until a week later than they proposed. They honestly could not have been more rude, disinterested in my concerns and told me to take it or leave it, we don't care. It's one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had.

FMy pregnant wife and I were looking to add on to out 100 year old house for the baby. We got a home improvement loan through a bank and hired Baby Bear to do the work. They very quickly started the job, demolishing the kitchen and dining room first. Keep in mind, my wife and I are living in the house during this construction. Constructing the new foundation is where things started to fall apart. They claimed they couldn't dig for the longest time because it was rainy. We weren't in a terrible hurry to finish the job so we were okay with this for a while. They demolished the deck, at some point. Then when they finally did dig, they found a small hole in the foundation. This caused all work to stop until the foundation could be assessed. It turned out the existing foundation needed to be fixed before they could move forward. This was quoted by Baby Bear to cost around $60k. This quote is way our of line for what it should have cost. At this point, my wife and I were ready to fire them. This is after they received around $22k from our bank loan. At some point around when we were firing them, they came back and said they could do the foundation for $10k. I assumed this was some tactic to keep us on the hook, we decided to let them go anyway and go with another contractor. They refused to give us any of the money back for the foundation they never constructed. They left a mess in our yard from the demolition, which some part of that $22k should have covered for them to take care of. At the end of the day, we got swindled by this company, but we still got the house built, but it was infinitely more difficult without the money they walked off with. We had to cut a lot of corners, I had to do a lot of the work myself and I had to go with lower end materials for parts of the job. The bright side is that my baby has a bedroom and I get to shine a light on their shady business practices. Thanks Angie!
