    Adeo Painters LLC
Adeo Painters are Miracle Workers! I recently hired Adeo Painters to refinish my factory-painted kitchen cabinets. The staff of the Westport, CT Rings End store recommended the company to me. This was not an easy job. The cabinets had to be prepped using a multi-step process so that the paint would adhere and last. Every cabinet door and drawer front had to be removed and labeled so that it could be put back in its proper place. In addition, each door had a rubber strip on it that needed to be left unpainted. To do all this, Melvin and his crew partitioned off a part of our garage with plastic, protecting even the garage floor, to create a space where they could use the paint sprayer. The bottom line is they did an amazing job! The work was first-rate, the price was reasonable, and the job was completed on time. I reached out to Melvin on a Wednesday. He showed up the following day to give me an estimate and started the job the next Monday. He came early every day and worked on the project until the job was finished. I cant recommend these guys enough. Theyre miracle workers!

    Oronoque Home Improvement LLC
Oronoque Home Improvement did an EXCELLENT job for my husband and I.  We have used this company for many years, for many projects, and continue to go back to them!!  All the work for this very large home improvement job was done professionally, on time, and at the agreed upon cost.  Jim and his guys are very patient with all my questions, and are always helpful with suggestions to repair any unforeseen problems that arise.  Jim goes above and beyond to find the small pieces that are needed to complete a project.  But the thing I like best about Oronoque Home Improvement is that all of the guys are very professional in their work and the way they treat my home.  The jobs are cleaned up each day, and the house is vacuumed inside, making it hard to tell that work is even being done.  Thank you Jim for helping us keep our home looking so great!!

    APG Painting LLC
I have a house from 1907. He removed all the old paint from the windows and trim. All the drywall was sanded, primed and painted. As well as the ceiling. This was in every room of the house. It looks absolutely perfect. He was great. It was expensive, but it was so perfect I couldn't say anything about it other than it was great.

    J Pallarino Painting
First the nutshell - James Pallarino Painting was contracted to tape and spackle an unfinished room and paint several other interior rooms.  He does excellent work, at a reasonable price.  His workers are quiet, neat, efficient, polite and professional.  He is my new painter and will continue to be for reasons below.
My previous painter was a good find on Angie's and I used him twice with very good results.  However, it is not unusual for "price creep" to take you by surprise if you don't watch for it - I watch for it.
In this case when my previous painter bid this 3rd job, the price was almost double what I anticipated.  Hence, I used Angie's again to call around and found James of J Pallarino Painting.
James is very easy to work with and very quick on estimates.  His price was also slightly higher than anticipated (so is paint at Benjamin Moore or Sherwin - it is up to $50-60 per gallon) but still a better value than my previous painter, so I took a shot. Ultimately, my wife felt James quality was better, and, I was happy to find a painter with prices in line with expectations. More importantly, James seems like he simply bids jobs in a consistent manner without working trusting customers.  After he completed the first round of painting I made a quick inquiry about two more smaller jobs (trim and woodwork) and his price was perfectly in line with his earlier pricing (so we had him do the extra work with consistently great quality).  I get the feeling that James does not play games with pricing - he simply treats every job equally and fairly.  He is a great value and a pleasure to do business with.

    The Finishing Company
Everything was done on time and on budget. Charles is neat and well organized. His workmanship is without peer. Like most great artists and artisans I have known, he is a perfectionist and his own most severe critic. Charles went above and beyond his role as painter and plasterer. I was acting as my own general contractor on this house restoration and Charles became my right hand man, helping me select colors, tiles, lighting, bathroom fixtures, and scheduling his work around carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tile men, and flooring installers. When I had to go out of town during the project, I would leave Charles in charge. Working with Charles was an absolute delight. He is talented, Industrious, honest, reliable, and fun. When people see how Charles transformed this house, they are amazed. The first question I am always asked is WHO WAS YOUR PAINTER? Charles Udry, I am proud to reply. I will not let anyone else paint my house. Finally, I found Charles' prices to be competitive. He is not inexpensive. but you definitely are getting the highest quality and value for your money.

    Peter Smith Painting
Although this experience was outdoor trim painting, Peter had already painted our large entry hall and other interior rooms a year earlier.  As a builder, I'm always concerned about the "negative repeat effect" that you get with almost all sub-contractors.  What I mean by this is when a sub performs well and you give a great review and refer him to your friends and associates, then you call him back and he knows you like him (and will most likely go with him), so, he jacks up his price hoping you won't go out and check his price (and usually their work slacks off too).  Well, I know the trick and always remain cautious, repricing their bid and watching for lower quality work because I'm aware of the games people play after having been burnt so many times (I have built several homes). Peter not only provided me as good a price as he did the first time, but his guys were meticulous as always, and this is important if you are a working professional like me who hates getting ripped off (and does not have the time to constantly monitor the work).I simply can't tell you how easy it is to deal with Peter - his work style makes him a non-issue and no-brainer.  Having so many negative sub-contractor experiences leaves my wife and I anxious with most subs (except the few good ones that we have culled over the years).  Even though this was only Peter's second job with us, we instantly knew he was one of the trustworthy ones.  When I saw how meticulously his guys were preparing my chipped and flaky columns, I just threw up my hands and said, OK I just have to go back to work since there is no value I can add here.  This is a critical point because even when I watch most subs, they still screw up - not Peter's guys.  They are well coached and not like 90% of subs you are forced to deal with.  With Peter, you simply tell him what you want, he prices it reasonably, his guys show up at 7:00AM and go at it, and, they get it right the first time.  They work like a swiss watch and methodically and meticulously cover every inch that they are supposed to and never miss.  So, I don't get the distractions from business that I occasionally look forward to, and, I have no reason to abandon my PC and prowl around the workers.  Truly, if you bring Peter on, you can just walk away.  The job gets done; and better than you expect; and you didn't have to stand over their shoulder.  We were actually scheduled to start the job on June 18th.  Peter has always been punctual but this time he called me a week early and asked "can we start this afternoon since I got a break in the schedule?".  Having a week of meetings scheduled didn't phase me one bit because I know how Peter works.  You don't even know his guys are there except for the good feeling you get when you walk outside and see beautiful workmanship.  When I heard our driveway security alarm go off at 7:00AM the next morning, I was already at my PC and remembered they were due back that morning.  When I heard my wife getting up a half hour later, I jumped thinking "I hope they are not painting near the Master Bedroom?".  Of course, when I found them, they were smart enough to start on the opposite side of the house where they knew they would not be invading our privacy.  Truly remarkable professionals lead by someone who "gets it".  Peter's company will be my painter for as long as he continues to be Peter (which I think will be for a very long time).  TF

    Peter Smith Painting
You’ve read about all the good experiences with Peter.  My review critiques Peter’s work from a different angle, and, after being involved with the construction business (I’ve built several homes), I’ve learned not to judge someone by only good experiences, as it can be deceiving.  You truly know your contractor when you hit a bump in the road.  In my case we were very happy with all of Peter’s work until evening came and we turned on very intense LV lights that wash a 20-foot high wall of paintings.  That’s when I noticed some bumps in the wall (the wall was highly imperfect to begin with).  The problem was my installation of the ceiling lights, which were mounted too close to the wall causing every miniscule defect to become visible.  If I called Peter and he said there was nothing he could do about it, I would have been OK with it, albeit, a little disappointed.  However, Peter doesn’t disappoint – which gave me a chance to judge his professionalism by how he reacts in a negative situation.  When Peter called me to check on his work, I mentioned the issue.  He came over immediately; never accused my prior painter of bad work; never blamed the lights; never gave me a hard time – he instantly said, that his guys should have switched on/off every different light until they spotted it themselves.  He then scheduled (completely at my convenience) a time for his guys to return so they could re-prep the wall and (with no dust) re-finish the job, leaving us very happy (he came over THAT afternoon with two guys who prepped very quickly for 2 hours then returned the next morning and within 3 hours were done).  My wife is actually a very good contract supervisor but, more importantly, a wonderful homemaker and she has a list of things she wanted highlighted about Peter’s style (aside from those mentioned).  She asked me to highlight how clean and dust-free he leaves a home; how he does not drag in litter from other folks’ homes on his drop cloths as they are always shaken out and very clean; how at times, it was so quiet that we thought they had taken a break, only to find 6 of them working in the hall (very quiet, no radios, non-disruptive -- especially important if you work at home), not to mention that all of his workers were extremely respectful and professional.  Peter promised they would be done in 3 days when I felt they needed a minimum of 4 days of imposition, and, Peter said that if they hit a rainy day, he could bring in an army.  Well, it did rain, so on the second day, he showed up with 6 guys and got us done in 2 days instead of three.  Can’t say enough good things and even when it goes a little imperfect, he just shines even more.  Not the lowest price, not the highest, but he is the best value I can find.

    WM EVANS PAINTING LLC
Was overall very pleased with the service. The owner came out and did the walk through to generate the proposed price. There were a few discrepencies between what i had asked and what was on the proposal but those were easily corrected before work was done. They weren't the cheapest but seemed very responsive and professional. The work began the following week and was completed within the estimated time frame. Was very pleased with the quality of the work
