I do not have the time or desire to explain fully why we were not happy with Robinson. At first, Miguel and Miguel did a good job of painting the outdoor fence and basement stairs. Very basic stuff.. The trouble started with the front stairs and deck. They did not have the right sander to do the job. Not good. So we unfortunately agreed to use at an additional cost some guys he knew to come in with a belt sander. Then he could not match our color specification for the stairs. The first color stain he put on did not look good at all. Then Miguel and Miguel were inexplicably pulled off of the job before it was finished leaving us without any word. Despite what others have said, Robinson is not good at communicating or at giving timely price quotes or at finishing jobs. He was also constantly on his phone when he was around making it further difficult to communicate. Unbelievable!. The minute we started to have problems with the staining, he pulled his guys to send to another job before ours was done! He then disappeared for two weeks without explanation only to show up rudely and unannounced on a Saturday morning to give the bill. Overall he was very unprofessional. I cannot recommend Robinson painting.

Roger and his crew did an excellent job. The put down 2 1/2 inches of asphalt as they quoted and it came out nice and smooth. Their price was fair for the quality and they were very professional. I highly recommend Silverio Paving.

Steven was very professional and prompt with return phone calls and addressing all of our issues/concerns. He always made sure we were satisfied, no matter how minor the detail. We were ecstatic with the final product. Our house had been weathered pretty badly over the years with broken shingles, woodpecker holes, etc. Also, our front porch was completely rotted and needed to be rebuilt. Steven's crew did an amazing job with it all. Ever since the work was completed, we have neighbors often compliment how nice the house now looks.

Peter Smith came in quickly and did an excellent job for an extremely fair price. I can't thank them enough for their responsiveness and professionalism at a time when I really needed them. I was very happy with the work and highly recommend them to others.

Oronoque Home Improvement did an EXCELLENT job for my husband and I.  We have used this company for many years, for many projects, and continue to go back to them!!  All the work for this very large home improvement job was done professionally, on time, and at the agreed upon cost.  Jim and his guys are very patient with all my questions, and are always helpful with suggestions to repair any unforeseen problems that arise.  Jim goes above and beyond to find the small pieces that are needed to complete a project.  But the thing I like best about Oronoque Home Improvement is that all of the guys are very professional in their work and the way they treat my home.  The jobs are cleaned up each day, and the house is vacuumed inside, making it hard to tell that work is even being done.  Thank you Jim for helping us keep our home looking so great!!

All aspects of the project came out extremely well.  The flagstone patio looks terrific (and drains quite well away from the house and towards the gardens).  We have already enjoyed a few evenings by the fire pit, and the kitchen/grill work-space will no doubt be a staple of our outdoor living for years to come.  The crew, apart from being quite skilled, was also very friendly, timely and neat (they left the property in pretty good shape each day when they went home).  We had used them on a small yard project last fall, and we were definitely happy that we decided to go with them again for this much larger project.  Not sure we have any more significant landscaping/masonry projects in our future, but if we do, Mark will certainly be our first call.

First the nutshell - James Pallarino Painting was contracted to tape and spackle an unfinished room and paint several other interior rooms.  He does excellent work, at a reasonable price.  His workers are quiet, neat, efficient, polite and professional.  He is my new painter and will continue to be for reasons below.
My previous painter was a good find on Angie's and I used him twice with very good results.  However, it is not unusual for "price creep" to take you by surprise if you don't watch for it - I watch for it.
In this case when my previous painter bid this 3rd job, the price was almost double what I anticipated.  Hence, I used Angie's again to call around and found James of J Pallarino Painting.
James is very easy to work with and very quick on estimates.  His price was also slightly higher than anticipated (so is paint at Benjamin Moore or Sherwin - it is up to $50-60 per gallon) but still a better value than my previous painter, so I took a shot. Ultimately, my wife felt James quality was better, and, I was happy to find a painter with prices in line with expectations. More importantly, James seems like he simply bids jobs in a consistent manner without working trusting customers.  After he completed the first round of painting I made a quick inquiry about two more smaller jobs (trim and woodwork) and his price was perfectly in line with his earlier pricing (so we had him do the extra work with consistently great quality).  I get the feeling that James does not play games with pricing - he simply treats every job equally and fairly.  He is a great value and a pleasure to do business with.

Everything went great.  We have lived in this house for 25 years and this was the best paint/carpentry job we have had done.  Robinson was nice to deal with and very responsive to questions, etc.  His crew of painters and carpenters were outstanding, professional and courteous.  It was an enjoyable experience.

On the first visit we were told our chimneys did not need cleaning but if we found we were experiencing down draft, we might consider chimney caps.  After our first few fires there was a very fine sandy colored substance on the fire hearth stone.  I thought it was sand and called the provider who said sand would be bad news.  Yesterday they came again--one week after the call--and said it wasn't sand, it was ash and did need a cleaning, after all.

I would absolutely recommend Steven Totilo flyingcolorspainters@gmail.com. Steve was very professional, the workers replaced several rotten tiles, installed a missing gutter that was causing wood rot and damage and did an excellent job of sanding and painting. The workers showed up early and worked late to complete the job quickly.  Despite their quick and efficient job, the attention to detail was impressive.  We have a wood shingle ranch and several of the wood shingles needed to be replaced.  I was concerned that without my supervision, they would merely paint over some of the rotted shingles rather than do a great job replacing each one.  I was wrong.  I've gone around pressing shingles that had previously been damaged by our sprinklers or the lack of the gutter and all of the wood was replaced and painted perfectly.  Steve is VERY fair and resonable, does what he says he will do, and with no surprises. I would absolutely use them again and feel confident that should we need to use the two year guarantee, it would be honored!
