Guarco Construction Driveway Paving & Snow Removal
Carl was fantastic from start to finish. He returned my call same day, and came out the following morning to provide a formal quote. He was up front, honest and sincere about wanting to provide the best job possible, and I ended up signing a contract with him shortly thereafter. Carl and team arrived when they said they would the following week, and were meticulous about making sure my driveway was sloped and paved correctly. Carl assured me that if I had any issues (whether it be today or five years from now), as long as he was still alive and breathing, he would come back out and make it right. I will absolutely use him again in the future. It could not have been a more pleasurable experience. Thank you again for your wonderful work!

    Midstate Paving
MidState Paving just finished our driveway in Prospect, CT and did an amazing job. Nick was easy to get a hold of and was able to schedule us very quickly. He added some rocks to a sloped area to give area a more finished look at no extra cost and the driveway looks great. I called 6 places for driveway quotes. 2 never got back to me, 1 did but weeks later, and out of the 3 who were responsive I chose Nick who's quote was in the middle of the 3. He was the most upfront and honest and I am happy with my decision. His team is great.

    RENEW ASPHALT MAINTENANCE, LLC
It didn't go because I left 3 voicemail messages and my calls were not returned. I called on 3/7, 3/8 and 3/9/18 between 11:14 AM and 2:24 PM. Off season or not, people such as myself are trying to plan and at the very least a phone call should be returned, not ignored. Three strikes and your are out.

    JD Construction
James and Tom Delaney are the best! Their whole approach from quoting on the job to the finished product was beyond reproach! The most surprising aspect of the job was they asked for no down payment!!! Once the job was completed and met with our total approval, full payment was made! They're also meticulous in every way! I will recommend JD Construction to all our friends and relations'

    APPLE VALLEY PAVING
Better than I expected. The work was done promptly and with the expertise needed to complete a job to give our home a custom look. We used to need boots to get to our mailbox when it rained - no more giant puddles. Everything is properly graded. Our driveway needed to be widen to accommodate our teen daughter's car. You would think the driveway was always like that. The sidewalk leading to our front door was simply a row of concrete pavers set into the ground. It was narrow and unappealing and the placement did nothing to add to the curb appeal of the house. We now have a main sidewalk leading from the driveway to the front door that can accommodate 2 people side by side and a smaller "secret" walkway connecting the front door to the driveway and on to to the side yard and back deck and back yard. I love driving into our driveway. We have received many compliments from friends and neighbors. The first thing our friends and family say the first time they pull into the driveway is WOW. Apple Valley's design work was right on. Could not ask for anything more.

    Midstate Paving
The original/old  driveway at our home was not installed with the correct pitch, had several areas that would heave in the winter and always had water flow issues due to the downhill slope of the driveway and a roof drain pipe that dumped water up-hill from our side entry garage doors.  When we were pursuing quotes, we received recommendations for simple driveway replacement,  elaborate drain systems with driveway replacement, and the solution recommended by Midstate Pavement which included a 10 inch base of trap rock under the stone dust.  Ultimately, the Midstate solution was the only recommendation I was comfortable with due to the complexity of the job.   Midstate solved the water flow issue by creating a swale that runs at a 45 degree angle across the driveway directing water to a safe area away from the house.
Midstate completed the work timely and we are extermely pleased with the result.  They bring in a hard working team and do a nice clean-up job when completed.  While we were waiting for the installed base to settle (before applying asphalt), we noticed one area in the water flow swale that appeared to be high.  On the day Midstate arrived to put down the asphalt, they took the time to make last minute adjustments including additional stone dust before completing the final installation of asphalt.
The only reason I gave a "B" rating on the price is they were the highest quote.  That may not be a fair rating because I don't really have anything to compare considering the amount of material they brought in and the extra work to excavate the base and install 10 inches of trap rock.  They also put down a generous layer of asphalt.
The bottom line is, we are pleased with the result and would recommend this company to others.

    SealPro Driveway Sealing Inc
It was excellent, they showed up very quickly after i called them and did a great job. He was prompt, i was a little nervous about them getting sealers for the driveway. He took his time, he was fabulous.

First of all Nick listened to my concerns about the existing driveway. For example, i had a water problem with runoff going under the existing driveway. He indicated he would dig out a drain so the water had somewhere to go. In addition he suggested a base of 8" of 2" trap-rock. Then on top of that 2" of fine process.
the other two companies that gave me quotes indicated they would add a little more processed stone in that area. Nick's approach was to add the 8" base of trap rock. So water would run through the trap rock and into the drain he built.
Nick also listened when I was concerned that the road in front of the driveway was all pot holes. Nick indicated he would cut that road out and re-pave it. Nick added a slight lip at the end of the driveway so water running down the street would not run on my driveway.
Nick offered 3.5 " of asphalt compacted to 3". And in fact in areas to get the pitch correct he added five inches.
Nick's warranty was five years,. The other two quotes were one year. This is what sold me on Midstate. He stood behind his work.
I know i received a quality for the same price.

Paul came out to quote and walk me through the steps. I had had one other quote, that came in at about the same cost.
Another person came out and removed the old driveway and added extra base material.   He informed me that the existing paver sidewalk was now at the wrong height and would need to be re-set, at an extra cost.
This is the one area where I have a minor complaint:  The quoter did not mention the potential issue of the walk.  It cost an extra $650, but this included other repairs that needed to be done on the walk.  I was happy with the results.  But if I'd been on a tight budget, this would have been a problem, as the driveway was already torn up.  This is a reminder to always ask about additional potential costs when getting a quote on any work.
I insisted that I be present when all work was done. As with any home project, there are small things that arise that you're asked to make a decision on, or that need to be explained.  At times I felt  like a nag, even with my flexible schedule, as they prefer to give only a day or two notice when they're coming. But they did accommodate.
After a few weeks, a large crew came to install the new driveway.  The crew leader was very professional. Happy to explain and answer questions.  They all worked very h****** a hot day.
Overall very satisfied. Everyone was professional and clearly cared about doing a great job.  I've received many compliments from my neighbors.

He did a good job. We had some rain during the period and they wanted to let it dry. They underestimated the amount of asphalt needed and they had to run out and get some more. They cleaned up very nicely.
