Robinson's Painting Co & Home Improvements LLC
It went very well. As noted above, the initial project went so well that we expanded the scope of the project. We were pleased with the thoroughness of the preparation before painting and we were pleased with how they painted the house; they used a roller to apply each of two coasts of paint and they brushed it out, they did not spray it. They were very clean and neat;at the end of each day they carefully policed the area and left it better then they found it. They were always polite and respectful of us and our property. Robinson assigned the same crew at our house so we got to know them.
In completing the project there were choices that needed to be made; colors, materials, configuration of the doors, etc. We relied heavily on Robinson for guidance and we were very happy with his recommendations.
We are very happy with the results of our project with Robinsion. He did everything he said he was going to do AND MORE. Whenever there was an issue or question, he got involved and made it right - quickly! Every time we drive up to our house we smile!
We are pleased with the quality of his work, think we got fair value for the money spent and we would use him and his firm again. Robinson was our first experience usign Angies list; we are glad we did.

    Baybrook Remodelers Inc
Ken and his team did a total remodel of two baths in my home. About a year after the job was finished, nail pops started to form in the bath areas. All it took was a simple phone call to the office, and a repairman was scheduled to my home. Since that occurrence, I have brought the Baybrook team to do other projects, from painting to carpentry as I prepare to move. In each instance, the workers have been polite and professional, and the work looks beautiful. I would highly recommend Baybrook Remodelers.

    Oronoque Home Improvement LLC
Oronoque was here for about an entire month.  6 days a week as long it didn't rain.  The owner Jim Faris was on site everyday and was working along with his crew.  His team is very professional and very courteous.  They unpacked and cleaned up every day.  His team also takes lots of time to make sure the job gets done right.  This is important.  From when they arrive to when the leave, it was a nice experience.  Jim also takes lots of time to explain why and how they are building the deck the way they were.
Every house needs work, and some places on the home need it more than others.  Jim was able to help us understand what needed to be done first, and what would wait a little longer.  I didn't feel like he was pressuring me.  It was more along the lines of this is Good but that maybe you should look at that earlier than later kinda thing.  Also Jim provided references, lots of pictures and we visited another job he did so see the deck work.
    1.  Remove existing 2 roofs, Removing all gutters.  Replace all Soffit, Facia and Rake trim with Azek.  Install ice and water 36" to the entire perimeter at gutters.  Balance of roof to have vinyl roofing paper.  Replace all vent boots and check all flashings.  Install 30 year architectual style shines and new 6" gutters with 4" leaders.  He also installed new Soffit vents.  Also I needed clapboard replaced and painted in some areas as well so they did the entire side of my home.  It was in pretty bad shape but now looks great!
    2.  Same as above but for dormers about the garage and also install new clapboard on the dormers.
    3.  Remove existing deck.  Install new pressure treated frame (2x10), new pressure treated header (2x10)
Installation of Azek deck with composite railings.  There is a lot of work in this one as you can assume from demo to rebuild.
    4.  Lots of new Azek trim around the garage, and rest of the house.
    5.  Family room with vaulted ceiling both painted and repaired.
    6.  Installation of new Kitchen slider.
    7.  Repair of pocket door.  Repair of Saddle from Kitchen to Family room.

    Godo Painting
The job went very well.  I have never been so pleased with a contractor that I can ever recall.  It is nice that ANYONE can still do quality work, and doesn't just want to get paid the maximum for doing the minimum, and sloppy at that.
I recommend him highly and if I needed a plumber or an electrician or any type of contractor, I would ask him AND Angie's List!

Mr Handyman of Upper Fairfield County
I thought this would be a small job, and the quote was $650. to almost $950. but they were available immediately. I guess I thought it would be the lower price, but it was actually the higher amount. Know if you use this group, it is expensive, but the work will be done.

    Oronoque Home Improvement LLC
I found OHI of CT (Jim Faris the owner) on Angies List.  I left him a message asking for an appointment for an estimate.  He contacted me right away and showed up to do the estimate that very day.  He was very honest with me on the work that needed to be done.  I had my own list but he, being a professional in the trade, added to that list based on the things he found as he did a walk through in the house.  Of coarse as the list grew so did my concerns on the cost of the job since I knew this was going to be a big one (at least for me this was considered a big job).  He sent me the estimate 24-48 hours later via email and as I prepared myself for falling off my chair as I opened the email (due to the cost) I was actually pleasantly surprised.  Actually, I was very surprised.  See I work in finance and as Jim was throwing out figures here and there during the walk through I was able to get an idea in my head of what I thought the cost should come to but I was nervous that I would be wrong and it would be much higher than I expected it to be.  The cost ended up being in the range of what I expected.  I was so shocked that I kept scrolling through the contract thinking I had to be missing something.

The contract was extremely professional. I was very impressed with Jim's formal contract and he provided a copy of his insurance and license prior to starting the work. He was also able to start the job right away, which was very important to me and was something I could not get from a few other contractors I spoke to over the phone.  His team that works for him is also very professional and very trustworthy.  I was able to give them a key and let them be in the house to do what they had to do and not have to waste any vacation time at work just to supervise.  ALL of the work was performed as per the contract and I am EXTREMELY pleased with how everything came out.  There were a few very small odds and ends that had to be taken care off afterward but that was not a problem.  I called Jim and let him know what they were and he sent his guys out the next day to take care of them.

I would definitely recommend Jim Faris to anyone I know that needs any remodeling of any kind done.  I will also be giving him a call down the road when I am ready to redo my master bathroom and kitchen counter tops (or any other projects I dream up).

I maybe could have found someone for less, but for the quality, warranty, and ease of transaction, and cleanup,  for my money it  was worth it.
