Just Decks by Wallenta Builders LLC
Skip was very professional. He came out and gave us a very detailed estimate, which included approaches we could take to save money. I never got the feeling that he was trying to up-sell us on anything unnecessary. His initial estimate for the work was in-line with other estimates we received. Ultimately we chose Wallenta due to his professionalism, knowledge, and ability to demonstrate the quality of his work. We replaced an aging pressure treated deck with new synthetic decking material. We were initially hoping to keep our existing foundation, but when the first deck was put up, the previous owner did not put flashing up. Skip showed us the substantial damage done in the 30 year life of the prior deck and discussed options with us. Ultimately we decided to rip down and replace the old deck foundation, which added a bit to the cost of course. Skip was able to accommodate this change without a huge impact to time. We're very happy with the result and would definitely use Just Decks again.

As our trust grew with WAGNER and his guys we realized we were comfortable with their professionalism and pricing. Felt confident it needed done we had trouble getting quality traded over past three years and these guys jump out of the box. They don't live at your house but will work OT or weekends at no extra fee just to get job done.

We felt like we were in good hands with Skip during the whole process from start to finish. We asked Skip to work with the town to get necessary permits, he listened to our initial design ideas and helped us reach something that would be functional and within budget. He was very responsive via email during the planning stages. During the project he kept the site tidy. We are very happy with the final results and would highly recommend Just Decks to anyone in need of a new deck.

    Excellent!!!

Skip was very professional.  He had promised to have my deck delivered by Memorial Day weekend so my kids could begin enjoying it and the pool immediately, which he delivered (early).  He allowed me to work the town permits myself providing me with detailed drawings the town immediately signed off on.   Upon inspection of the final product the inspector approved and even included a "Nicely Done!" comment.

The deck itself was constructed perfectly and exceeded my expectations (which is difficult to do).  He took the extra time to sand down all the edges, add a hand railing (which I did not ask for) and add some originality to the decking design by angling the boards towards one another.

In my previous experience with many contractors I found communication was the biggest failure, but in this case I knew when he would be onsite and what he would be performing.  Not only was communication fantastic, but my expectations were set correctly and certainly exceeded.

    Well done!!!

    Elite Deck Builders
I had the most beautiful deck built last summer and it has brought a great joy to my life.  I am so pleased with Elite Deck Builders. Jack the project manager took the time to find and customize a railing system that met the needs of my disabled son.   They finished the deck even quicker than stated and considering the lever of craftsmanship it was very reasonably priced.  I even invited them to our annual cookout last labor day.

    JTP Construction LLC
Jason and JTP Construction were a pleasure to work with.  Jason's bid, out of the gate, was $500 less than the next lowest and a whopping $5,000 less than the local, highly touted, construction company.  And, once we committed to him, with no prompting, he dropped the price another $500.  As promised the job was completed in a single day.  The job site was kept neat and orderly and the crew hard working and professional.  Never having worked with them before I watched the entire operation
We were so happy with the work and Jason's attention to detail we contracted JTP Construction to expand our front porch (from 4 1/2' x 28' to 10 1/2' x 28').  Again Jason's crew were very hard working and professional.  This job took a bit longer than the roof and Jason stayed in constant touch with us throughout the job via email and telephone.
Without exception we are very pleased with the work JTP Construction performed and recommend them unequivocally.

    DELUCIA HOME IMPROVEMENTS
His name is Dean. He did a really good job. The price was very reasonable for the labor and supplies. Our experience with them was very good. We just looked up in the phone book to get some estimates. He was very professional and he gave us a written estimate. The overall work was excellent.

This project was not a typical pool deck build in that the deck needed to be built into the side of a small sloping hill. The deck (once completed) went from being 2 feet high at the top of the hill on one end, and as tall as 4 1/2 feet against the pools edge. With that said the locations on the hill where they needed to dig the deck footings ended up being mostly ledge which was a huge headache to complete, but Leo and his workers tackled this major unknown issue with enthusiasm and constant positive feedback placing me at ease. In addition to this during the construction phase I was making small changes to what was originally agreed upon and each time Leo never lost patience with me, always gave me his professional opinion concerning the changes and took the changes in stride with no complaints.
Leo was not the cheapest price I was quoted nor was he the most expensive, however it was the overall price of the project as well as knowing that he only uses top grade lumber and other quality materials when he works was the reason he was chosen. Another reason he was chosen was after viewing some of his previous work on his company website it spoke volumes about the type of tradesman he really is. I used to be in the construction business myself for several years and know when someone can build something and do it right.
Overall it was extremely pleasurable doing business with Leo during the whole construction phase, his honesty and positive attitude was greatly appreciated. He was onsite everyday of the project, and during that time his workers were friendly, courteous, and cleaned the jobsite spotless each and everyday. I highly recommend using Leo for any project you may have and will be using him again for other projects in the future. In the end I did not just hire a contractor to construct my beautiful well built deck using Angies List, but I also gained a friend as well!

Our process started with several initial in-home visits with Leo.  He was prompt, enthusiastic, and really involved in helping us flesh out, in practical and creative ways, the vision we had for our deck project.  Leo was clear at all times about materials, pricing, and time involved.  Together, we came up with a rough sketch of the new deck.  One of the things that we liked most about this part of the project was Leo's interest in helping us develop our "dream deck."  We worked back and forth by phone, email, and in person exchanging ideas and narrowing down the details of how our deck would look, how large it would be, what type of materials would be used, and what type of special accents would be included.  Leo was great at helping us choose materials that would not break the bank but still would create the beautiful aesthetic  we were looking for.  With his help, we stayed within our budget but didn't sacrifice quality or asthetics.  At times, we felt like we were asking a lot of questions, but Leo was always happy to have a phone discussion, drop us an email, and would often "pop by" to have a conversation, show us a material sample, or answer a quick question.  This included weekends (pretty impressive!).   The next step was to review and sign our contract.  Based on our discussions, Leo's contract laid out, in detail,  the materials and prices for us.   There were still decisions to be made within the building timeframe (choices about things like how extensive the barbecue area would be and what appliances and materials to use on it, would the ceiling in the screened-in porch be vinyl or wood, etc.), but with the basics decided, we signed our contract and were ready to begin!   Leo made it a point during this part of the process to encourage us to give our input as much as possible during the upcoming build.  If we were not satisfied with something or if we just wanted to make a change or add a detail or material that we found and liked, to definitely say so because, as he liked to say, we were his bosses for the duration and he wanted us to be as happy as possible.  The next phase of our project was the actual build.  Since this was our first remodel, we had nothing to compare it to, but we can only say how great this portion was!  We didn't know what to expect from Leo's team of builders, but what we got was a group of happy, respectful, helpful, and punctual guys who obviously take great pride in their work!  Al, Jose, and "the gang" were absolutely fantastic! Since it was a winter project and our winter was particularly cold, snowy, and bitter, you might expect slow, sluggish workers, but not these guys!  They were "on it" each morning starting with Al at exactly 7:30 AM, almost regardless of the weather, and continued to around 4:30-5:00 in the evening.  Even more important to a homeowner, their attitudes were A+!  They work as a team, not just a bunch of guys sent to a project, and you really couldn't ask for a more respectful and generally happy group of guys.  It makes all the difference when you can hear happy banter outside instead of grousing or complaining.  And Leo was at our house every morning to set the pace, instruct the guys about the days work, and check on the progress they were making.    This was also a perfect time have discussions with us about the process and to get our immediate input.  Leo made it a point to check with us each day during building to make sure we were happy with everything that was being done and to make changes if we requested them.  Leo (not us), during this time, also took responsibility for all permits involved and working back and forth with town hall and our town's inspector.  As the deck started coming together, and we could see the vision we had planned coming to life, it was really exciting!  There were, of course, times when changes needed to be made or plans needed to be altered.  One such change was our barbecue area.  In the beginning phases, it was to be a smaller area with a grill and a roof; however, as the project developed, so did our plans for a much more built-in, custom area with multiple appliances. This was where Leo really got creative!  With our input, he designed (really outdoing himself, we thought) a beautiful, 18 foot area with a shed roof mirroring the roof on the screened-in porch, highlighted with exposed beams, a granite countertop, glass tile backsplash, and vinyl bead board facing.  It really is the focal point of our deck!  It's a thing of beauty!  Our project has wound down now, and we are slowly getting to use our deck as springtime approaches.  Woodland Builders have not forgotten us, though.  Leo has been over several times to make final adjustments and to check again to make sure we like everything.  It has been impressive to us that we have been "in the loop" constantly, and we know that if there is a problem, even 6 months or a year later, Leo will be here  to fix it.  There weren't really many "bumps in the road" during our project.  It is inevitable that at times, you won't see eye to eye with your builder, and, of course, we had a few of these times, but Leo takes his theory of "you're the boss" seriously and works to resolve problems quickly and with the homeowner's wishes in mind.  He is up-front, honest, and respectful in his dealings, and, at the end of the day,  he says it's your project and you have to be happy with it.  As homeowners, we have talked about how, since this was a very large project, it could have fallen into a "cookie cutter" pattern and appearance at the end.  One of Leo's strengths and goals, however, is making his projects look like they've always been a part of your home, but like, in a newer and better way that you couldn't believe it could be , and this is definitely true of our deck.  What was our house before is more like a showplace now, blending perfectly and basically looking 10 times better than it did before!  Now people drive by our house, stop their cars, and just look, and our neighbors compliment us on "gorgeous deck"!  Thank you so much to Leo and his team at Woodland Builders, you have created a beautiful outdoor space for our family to enjoy for years and have made our first remodel experience a great one!  One last thing...Leo, our dog Bailey will really miss you!!
