Plumber Zach P. came out for an appraisal last Monday. He was responsive to all my questions. I was able to schedule the work for that Wednesday - the first time I was available. Zach and Brian, his apprentice, arrived on time Wednesday. They were able to remove the original knobs, cut down the tiled wall around the knobs, replace them with a new single handle diverter and remodel plate in less than 3 hours - less time than I expected. Effort to replace the drain shut off mechanism (mechanism to allow water too pool for taking a bath) failed because I live in a multi-story condo flat and accessing the broken part would have required breaking down the bathroom ceiling of my downstairs neighbor. As has been my experience with other plumbers in the past - they cleaned before leaving and I finished it up. I would recommend them because they did quality work efficiently and were professional and easy to work with. The owner and the office staff were informative and responsive as well. (btw, they used Delta parts - that had been highly recommended to me by remodelers I spoke with in the past.)

Lou was great. I had 3 toilets installed that I didn't trust myself to do. I also had a leaky bathtub faucet that needed a new valve and other parts. He fit me into his busy schedule. He fixed everything that I needed and I couldn't be happier. Also, charged a fair price for the work. I will definitely call Lou for other jobs that I need to have done. A+

Well, it went very fine. It was very reassuring. It was a little expensive but we were happy with it.

The price was a little high.

    I would use them again.

My condo has a shut off for the whole building (4 units) that had to be closed in order to replace the shut off valves in my unit. Lo and behold, the shut off valve for my building broke in the "OFF" position and couldn't open again. MDC had to come and shut off water for the entire condo complex (188 units) in order to repair the valve (great way to meet the neighbors!). Despite this setback, Nick and Jake handled the situation professionally and promptly. They did a great job replumbing my entire condo, which had to be done due to a botched dewinterization job (way to go HUD!). They did a great job fixing the water main for my building as well. The condo board president was impressed with how quickly they worked. You could tell by the quality of their work that they take pride in what they do. I would definitely recommend them for all your plumbing needs.

They replaced a hot surface ignite on a "Buderus" boiler that I purchased approximately 2 years ago. I called them at 6:30 a.m. And they were out there by 10:00 a.m. They left to purchase the piece and had the heat back on by 12:00. It cost me nothing b/c it was under warranty. However, I was impressed with the speed in which they answered the call. The knowledge of the HVAC person. He walked me through the procedure in layman terms and the professionalism of the entire company. I will be using them to replace my air conditioner because they have stood behind their work and were incredibly responsive and efficient. I would highly recommend them to anyone!!!! Carol O'Brien

Thank you, Advance Plumbing & Heating. Woke up today to no hot water, and a leak in the hot water heater. Called the place we have given a lot of business to, and had a good experience with, and they told me they were booked solid for at least a week, maybe two. Hit up Angie's List and found Advance. They had me email a couple pics so they could get a preliminary idea of the situation, and the equipment involved. A short while later, someone was on the way. In-person assessment determined it was a replacement, and several options were offered. We came to an agreement, and just a few hours later they are done and gone. Mike the owner stopped by to check in and offer a hand with the heavy lifting. He and Corie the technician were both class acts. These guys deserve your business.

I called Advance as I used them once before and had very good luck.  I had a new P-trap installed after I put a new vanity and sink into a half bath back in January.  Their technician did a great job, he answered all my questions, and the price was reasonable despite the "B" I had seen on their Angie's List page.  When their technician Mike arrived today, he certainly lived up to my expectations!  He was prompt, courteous, and demonstrated real concern for the fact that he would need to cut into a wall and ceiling to make the repair, to a leaking bathtub drain above my living room.
The living room has a faux wall about 2 feet away from the cinder block firewall between my condo and my neighbor's, which accommodates a fireplace.  Built into the wall on the side where the leak was located is a wood box, lined with old boards, that stretches back from the faux wall to the firewall.  Mike realized that if he could get through the top of the wood box, he would be able to access the pipes he needed without cutting through any drywall, and that's exactly what he did!  Major kudos to him for thinking outside the box and saving my recently-painted wall and ceiling!
Mike had the repair done in about 3 hours and was very thorough about cleaning up after himself.  As requested, he left all the parts behind for the insurance adjuster to inspect.  My only shock came when he presented me with the bill.  I've heard from others who had similar work done, involving cutting into drywall, and was expecting a bill close to $1,000.  This bill was twice that!  I paid it, which may have been a mistake, but I'm still in shock.  Guaranteed I'll be shopping around the next time I need plumbing work done.

Paul arrived and assessed the bathroom to see what needed to be done. He was happy to answer questions about a few other minor things, then he set to work. After less than 2 hours the work was done. He took the vanity door off its hinges to avoid damaging it while he worked, and he even hooked up the supply lines for the sink. Paul was friendly, courteous, and thorough. I made the right choice to call Advance.

I’ve used him forever. He’s excellent. He built my house. He is always wonderful to me. He’s my neighbour so if something is wrong, he comes by first thing in the morning before he goes out to make sure it’s okay and help me how to deal about it. I love John. I have nothing but great things to say about him. For price, he’s excellent. For service, he’s an awesome guy to work with. He always does a good job. He is the best.

My first time working with Griswold Plumbing, I called them pretty early in the morning (around 745am) because there had been a fire in the hot water heater of the house I was living at. Couldn't have asked for better responsiveness or faster service. They had an answering service that paged one of the plumbers, he called me back almost immediately, and I think in about 15 minutes from placing the call he was at the house assessing the damage, because it so happened he was very close by when I called. The hot water heater was $4500 to replace because it was an oil heater, and of course there was a lot of cleanup work involved because of the fire (ash/soot) and the lack of maintenance on the heater for years prior (buildup of leaves/detritus, etc). The job was professionally done and in a timely manner, he walked me through all the steps verbally, did cleanup of the area and left it in good shape. A+
While he was doing the assessment he also noted the water tank in the house was waterlogged such that it could not sense when it needed refilling anymore because it was too old. For this reason the reservoir was serving no purpose, every time the water was used, the pump was turning on. I had him replace that tank too and it was $1500.
IObviously I was in a jam that time and didn't have a lot of opportunity to shop around for a great deal, but I was quite happy with the work they did and definitely glad I had used their services. Several weeks later, we were moving to a new house and so I contacted Griswold Plumbing again to ask about some work we needed done. The process of setting up an appointment for a non-emergency quote was less easy. There was one appointment he missed and then another one where he called me saying he couldn't remember when we rescheduled for and asking for a reminder. Took us several weeks to just get the estimate. When he did come over, I appreciated the time he took on the estimate. He was thorough, again took a look at all the other plumbing and made other recommendations with quotes as well. Even took the top of the well off (bunch of screws etc) to really try to figure out how our water system worked. But in the end the other estimate I got was cheaper and the plumber seemed more responsive, that plumber also didn't try to upsell me on anything. So I went with the other plumber, but definitely would still be willing to work with Griswold again in the future if
