Driveway Pavers reviews in Riverside

    ADR Paver
They were easy to deal with from start to finish. They replied quickly to the request for a quote and we set up an appointment quickly. He quoted me the job immediately. I requested other quotes from local contractors and ADR was the most competitive although they were all in the same ballpark. They worked as quickly as they could based on the weather conditions and kept me informed with a phone call as to when they would start, resume and finish the job. Everything went well and I would recommend them for driveway paving.

    Cummings Construction Service LLC
2 words sum it up --- true professionals
We received several quotes from pavers from Angie's List and found the quote from Cummings to be fair and competitive. We decided to go with them based on their reviews here and the fact that they were able to squeeze our small job in rather quickly. His crew was pleasant and hard-working. There were 4-5 guys working on a small patch in front of our 2-car garage. They were hard-working, pleasant and aimed to please. Once completed, we noticed that there was some ponding which occurred in the newly paved spots after it rained. We contacted Cummings (sent pictures) and they came out quickly to look first-hand. ****Without any pushback whatsoever, they advised us they would take care of it when their schedule permitted. They came back within one week for this small job and took care of it -- no resulting ponding - a job well done! We appreciate their professionalism and effort to get it right, even on their smaller jobs. We would definitely use them again and would recommend them without any reservation whatsoever.

    Hug Paving And Sealing
I called Hug driveway for an estimate.  Gary called me back and we made an appointment for Gary to come to my home to measure the driveway and provide an estimate.  We agreed upon a price and selected a start date.  Gary and his paving team arrived on time and within a few hours the old driveway was removed, the base was prepared and the Belgium block was installed.    The weather did not cooperate so we needed to wait a few days until the new asphalt was installed.  The driveway looks great.  Gary and his team were very responsive and I would recommend Hug driveway.

Had Imperial Asphalt redo the driveway and put Belgium blocks along the sides. They were not well organized at all. They lost their copy of the original quote they gave to me (on notebook paper) but luckily I had saved mine. They tore the driveway up and then did not return for three days to do the work. The asphalt work they did was ok but the Belgium blocks were way too high up relative to the driveway and they did not try to match the sizes of block so there are vastly different widths along the driveway. They also put concrete over my sprinkler heads even though I showed them three times exactly where they were. Had to go back and chip it off. Days after I finished I took some yard cuttings that had been in my garage to the dump. Imperial's guys had taken some cuttings off of the top, put their trash in the bag, then replaced the cuttings. I did not know this until I dumped the bag and then had to fish their trash out. Used them because they were cheap and had a good rating on Angie's List. My mistake for doing so. If you have the time to sit and watch them every moment they are working, maybe you will have better luck. Frank, the owner, was not there during any of the work. Will not used them again and will not recommend them to anyone.

On Friday June 20, 2008 we signed a contract with Ed Cooper (he was present) to pave our driveway for $3800. ($3500 for paving and $300 for driveway sealant). On Monday June 23, 2008 work began and the old driveway paving was removed. Ed was present and told us the old base was in fine shape and did not have to be removed before new paving was applied. On Tuesday June 24, 2008 a crew paved the driveway and Ed was not present for this application. On Wednesday June 25, 2008 the sealant was applied and again Ed was not present. The paving told us that there might be a few small puddles as is usual in paving operations and, as instructed, we did not use the driveway for a week. It rained a few days after the installation and we observed a huge area in the center of the driveway approximately 10 feet by 18 feet from which the water would not drain (photos available). After 3 days the water still had not drained or evaporated and we had to sweep the water away. This standing water situation occurs every time it rains. We have tried to phone Ed Cooper 14 times (phone records available) requesting that he come and look at the problem and provide a remedy. Ed has never called or come to see us. We got 2 responses to our calls. One on July 3, 2008 from a salesman who said that a patch was possible but not recommended and that we live with the problem. We asked to speak directly to Ed and were assured he would call back (He never did). A second response (after numerous calls) from someone named Rose came on July 16, 2008. After listening to our explanation of the problem, she said that Ed would call back later that evening. Again he never called back.

I called Mr. Cummings in April. He came out a day or so later and gave me a verbal price on the spot of $2300. 5 or 6 weeks later I called him back to schedule the job. He came out again and told me that because of the rise in oil prices, the price of asphalt had gone up substantially and the job would cost $2700. The other estimate I had gotten was for $6,000 and I believed his story about the rise in asphalt prices. At this point I asked for references. It took several days for him to get them to me. I called the references. I called a couple weeks later to schedule the job. Frank came out again, we agreed on a price of $3000, with the inclusion of them taking away some fill on the site. His crew did the job that day. They broke up and regraded the existing blacktop, including the new enlarged area I had marked off. They then added aggregate material, graded that and compacted it with a roller. Then they paved it using a paving machine for most of it and by hand in areas where the machine could not go. It is a professional looking job. Frank came back a week later to give me an invoice and collect payment. Frank is clearly an old fashioned contractor. He is not "professional" in that he did not give me a written estimate or a contract. On the other hand he guaranteed the work for two years and is clearly an expert with an experienced crew and good machinery. I am very satisfied with the results; only time will tell how long the job will last, but I watched the whole process and have no reason to suspect it will not hold up.

Fred Durante did not provide the lowest quote but his quote was the most comprehensive. They did an excellent job and there were no surprises from a final pricing standpoint.
