Garage Door Repair And Installation reviews in Ridgeway

    Overhead Garage Door
When he started to work, he replaced the torsion coil and then he said the stabilizing rod is bent and he was having problems replacing the coil. I had to pay for a new rod. He kept telling me everything was under warranty, and then he kept changing the price and I asked about it and he said it was for the warranty. The invoice says there is a 5% senior discount, and in my email and voicemail I told them I was not given the discount. After he left, my overhead light is not working. They are not responding to my phone calls or emails. Before they did work, they were always answering my calls.

I bought the garage door deal that they had listed to replace my door for $675, and he immediately tried to upcharge me for putting windows on the door, which the deal states are included. After that, to get me to not be upset about him doing that, he tried to tell me that he was going to 'upgrade me' to an insulated door with a steel back, even though that is the EXACT door that the deal listed. I should have probably cancelled the deal at that point, but he said he could get it installed the next week, so I kept with him, as my prior door was wood, and had started to rot at the bottom. the next week, he told me he had to wait for the door I wanted to be in stock, and that he could do the door on 11/1, which wasn't too long of a delay. on the morning of 11/1, I received a text that he was going to have to reschedule as his car had broken down. he rescheduled for today, and when he replaced the door, he left a gap at the bottom, and you can see daylight. I called him to ask if he could fix it, and he said that there was nothing he could do, and it wasn't his problem, and that I should fix my floor. Instead of attempting to assist the situation, he stated that I was too much trouble to deal with since I wouldn't pay him more for the windows that were included in the deal.

The service was fantastic - the guy was very professional and very knowledgeable. I had a problem with one of the rollers popping out, and he fixed that as part of the door tune up (he also replaced all the rollers). He answered all the questions I had, and I believe he answered them very honestly - he didn't try to upsell me, even though he could have.

Very professional and courteous. Showed up on time and was able to fixed the bent track. I thought they may have to replace the track but technician knew what he was doing and was able to straighten out the track. I was pleasantly surprised.

The service was very good, and he was very responsive. He was excellent. I would give him a high rating on being responsive, and doing what had to be done. There weren't any additional charges, he stayed within the big deal amount.

I bought the $111 "garage door tune-up" deal on Angie's List because one of our garage doors was acting erratically.  The service rep was polite and on-time.  Unfortunately, he said the garage door had a sensor issue. Then he informed me that the brand of door opener we have as been discontinued and that parts are no longer available. He suggested replacing the whole opener w/ new motor, sensors, etc. for another $500.  He replace the rollers on the door, but did nothing to actually "tune up" the motor, sensors, etc.  He was at my home for about 10-15 minutes and after the consultation his van sat in our driveway for another 15 mins before leaving to the next call.  The door still only works about half the time.   I would not buy this "deal" again and feel it should not be marketed as a "tune-up", but rather a roller replacement.

    |After everything was done, the unit now works well.  But there should have been disclosure up-front that the belt drive I ordered might now work, without some add-on solutions.  The installer was not particularly interested that the car's remote controller could not work, and I had to press him to take care of it.  My expectation for a proper, full installation of a replacement garage opener, was to have a well-functioning unit that I could operate remotely from a hand remote, as well as from the car.  This merely maintains the functionality that I used to have with my 15 year-old unit.

    |Would I use the same company again?  Now that I know the connectivity issues and their solutions, I might.  The basic installation of the mechanical stuff seems to have been done properly, and has been trouble-free so far.

My garage door wasn't going down, so I used the $100 garage door "spa treatment" featured as a deal of the day.  The repairman came into the garage, looked around, and within four or five seconds, had effected complete repair with his toe.  Didn't even have to bend down; he just adjusted the monitor beam.  He could have left then, but stayed around for actually two hours doing all the things they claimed they would do, and marveled that the doors were still functioning, given the "state of the art, 1950" environment.  Clean, effective, not pushy.  Seemingly well informed.   If all my commercial interactions involved as little surprise, I'd be delighted.
