APequot AppliancesWe purchased a used washer and dryer from Barry at Pequot Appliances. They were slightly used and refurbished but who cares. They are going to be put to hard use and get dirty and scuffed in our house anyway. Besides the prices are reasonable and a whole lot cheaper than buying new from some big box store. He had some brand new looking appliances in the shop as well but we needed large capacity for our family. They were delivered and installed a couple days later as promised, no problems. After several weeks or a few months the washer motor developed a problem. The owner, Barry was there at our house a couple days later replacing the motor. No hassles, no extra $, no excuses, problem solved! I know someone else who went in to buy a new dryer, Barry asked him a few questions and sent him home with a new dryer duct instead! The dryer was fine, the exhaust vent was old, bent and clogged with lint so it couldn't heat up properly. He saved the guy hundreds of dollars. It's great to find an honest business owner that you are happy to recommend.- Jay C.

AFAMILY UPHOLSTERY INCExceptional. These guys know what they are doing. I have been refinishing antiques for 30 years, but upholstery and frame reconstruction have not been my areas of expertise. Todd immediately knew something was dreadfully wrong with our 1920's transitional couch. We had it reupholstered 25 years ago, but it still seem to sag, and we were continually tripping over the front legs of the couch. They were like buck teeth. He not only tightened up the frame, but geez, the care he took in matching a very large repeat in the fabric we had picked was incredible. I highly recommend Family Upholstery. Please be aware, though, that from Labor Day to Christmas they are very busy. Our couch and chair (oh the chair, exquisite!), was in the shop for two months. Plan accordingly.- Scott E.

ACOOGAN-GILDERSLEEVE APPLIANCEI called on a Saturday and was told the service department was closed for the weekend (it is a one man service department) because the repairman was on his weekend duty with the National Guard. I was told he would call first when he returned to work on Monday. I was told refridgeration problems are serviced first. I received a call at 8 AM on Monday and he was here within hours. I had called two other repair services and the earliest that someone would be able to look at the problem was four to five days. Coogan Gildersleve was there in less than 40 hours.- Terrence M.

AI ordered an Acrylic turntable cover for my new audiophile turntable - Dr. Feickert Woodpecker with Origin Live illustrious tone arm. I got the "floating cover", which sits on the top of the turntable plinth via 4 seating blocks. This cover is a beautiful work of art, literally could be used in an art museum display. it is very sturdy and extremely well finished. The pricing was very, very reasonable and I have never seen better or more secure packaging. Shipping was received as was promised and in a timely fashion. AWell they lost their plow. So superwoman Tasha put on her cape and grabbed a dude and a snowblower, loaded up her truck and off she went. She went to great lengths to honor the contract and get the snow removed. Looks just as good as a plow. Hand laid the promised salt. Took them a while, but understandable back breaking labor. Assurances of a plow in the future. Would recommend and use again. Despite all odds they got it done.

APERFECT. The team was so fast and helpful. There was no damage to any of our items including the car they moved. Nothing was left behind and we were able to do a FaceTime walk through once they packed up our apartment. This is the second time we've moved with them and we could not recommend them more. AArrived on time, crew was fabulous. Did exactly what they said they would do in the time frame promised. Yard was left as clean as they found it. Roof looks fabulous. New gutters with leaf guards were installed by a true master on 4/7/2020. Looking forward to never having to hire someone to clean gutters again. If a house gutter can be considered "beautiful", these meet that criteria.
