    Handyman Matters of Orange
I had a great experience with Handyman Matters. I knew they were a new company in our town but I had some work at my home which needed to get done which I could not fit into my schedule. I called them and, from the beginning, thought it was a very professional experience from the person who took my call and coordinated/scheduled my appointment to the talented, skilled and polite craftsman who came to my home and did the work with exceptional care and attention to detail. From beginning to end, I was very satisfied and am looking forward to using Handyman Matters again in the future. I will be recommending them to others.

    Baybrook Remodelers Inc
After many years of thought and planning I decided the time had arrived to completely remodel my 1959 ranch house in Orange, CT. Knowing the project would involve all aspects of renovation (electric, plumbing, windows, siding, painting, kitchen/bath demolition, etc.) I knew a design/build team would be a smart investment. With all the decisions involved in the process the very best one I made was to select Baybrook Remodelers for the transformation of my home. Baybrooks strength is the depth of service received from the initial consultation to the final creation. The advice and patience of Bill(salesman), Dan(design/estimator), and Maria(designer) was invaluable, they listened to all my questions, looked at all my inspiration photos (egads!), and then helped guide me through the details without pressure or judgement. There was some trepidation on my part as I would be living in the house with my two dogs during all the work, but my fears were unfounded. The project manager Pat came to the site every day to update me on the plan, always inquiring if there were any concerns or problems. The crew arrived on time every day and always made sure all was clean and safe before they departed. John (painter), Percy and Josh (carpenters), Gilson (demolition and more), Wonderson (tile artisan), and many others made each day a pleasure as I watched old become new! The entire project was completed on time even though some unexpected problems (rotted wood and joists) were encountered. All issues that arose were explained thoroughly and addressed immediately. Baybrook has been given my permission to phone me or see my home if you need further reassurance. Just give them a call, they may begin as strangers to you but will feel like family at the end. Thanks for reading and thank you Baybrook for everything. Kathi Kidd

Tom Saint Painting & Remodeling LLC
We chose Tom based on seeing his previous work via his website and in meeting with him and walking through our job. Tom's experience and insight were incredible and we were able to see the same vision we wanted with our projects. Tom was in constant contact throughout the projects and upon completion, my family was more than happy with the results. As we grow into our new house, my family will be using Tom again in the future.

    DMZ Painting
Excellent!  Don was professional, friendly, reasonably priced and very easy to work with.  One of the rooms I asked him to paint needed an incredible amount of prep work and he was very meticulous and thorough.  Everything came out even better than I imagined!  An excellent painter and a really nice guy, I would hire Don again in an instant for any other painting needs.

Don did an amazing job for us; the house, which was built in the 70's, feels fresh and new inside. He's meticulous in his attention to detail and extremely knowledgeable. He worked with us to get the result we wanted, keeping in mind our concerns about budget. (His estimate was also significantly lower than the other we received.) Our goal was to make the house as appealing as possible to prospective buyers, and Don was a huge help in choosing paint colors that show off the rooms to their best advantage, yet still staying within a relatively neutral range so the colors should work for new owners, whatever their decor. I'd recommend him without reservation, especially to anyone who is repainting prior to putting their house on the market--he knows his stuff and is a pleasure to work with.

    HM Construction & Painting
I needed a ceiling fan removed from a cathedral ceiling and a new fan installed in a different place in the ceiling. The workers removed the original fan and patched and prepared the ceiling surface for painting. They also installed the new Casablanca fan, including a heavy duty wood beam behind the surface to hold the 30 lb. weight of the fan. The ceiling where the new fan was installed was also patched and prepared for painting. They completed all electrical changes and connections, and removed a track light, including patching and preparing the ceiling for painting. They also removed an old phone jack outlet and patched and prepared the wall for painting.
The workmen were very punctual, professional, and pleasant to work with. They answered my questions and made sure that I understood what steps were being taken. Great care was taken to cover the floor where they would be walking in and out of the house during the job. They also cleaned up afterwards. I am very satisfied with the whole job.

Don was marvelous to deal with giving us a fair price and was very reliable. He kept in touch with us in the weeks preceding the job. He is meticulous and does a great job prepping what was a very difficult wall. What more could a customer ask for: excellent work, fair price and a heck of a nice guy to boot! You won't regret calling DMZ Painting!

    Martin Ardolino
Martin spends whatever time it takes to prepare the house prior to applying the paint or stain. The house exterior application has already lasted 50 percent longer than any olther and is a long way from needing repainting.

The work was done quickly and when Don found that he was able to do the work in less time than he had estimated, he reduced the price.  I was so appreciative because we are trying to get our house ready to sell and needed other work done as well so it really helped our budget.  Both Don and and his son were friendly, helpful and did a great job!  I was so impressed with their honesty and their ability to get the work done quickly but with attention to details one expects of a good professional. I highly recommend them.

Alfred W. Ivan Painting Power Washing
I was introduced to Alfred through ServiceMagic; he was the first to call back, the first to come to give a quote, and I must say he was the most professional of all of those who did call back. He gave an extremely reasonable quote, and he began by saying, "I'm not done until you're completely satisfied". We've all heard that before, right? Well, Alfred meant it. We were moving into a foreclosure and the place was a mess. The paint on the walls was chipped and cracking, the floor, window, and door moulding were gutted and covered with nails and staples (don't even know why). We were considering replacing all the trim but Alfred said, "nah, I'll have my guys patch it.. it'll look good as new, and you'll save a lot" I have to tell you Alfred's team worked on those mouldings about 5 times, patching, sanding, painting-- until we were completely satisfied. When Alfred says he's not happy until you're happy-- he means it. The previous owner had also decided to do a lot of his own "home improvement". Well, as with many do-it-yourself-jobbers this wasn't really an improvement.. It was more like "home deprovement". They had laid tile over the hallway floor that was crooked and uneven; all the doors had been badly cut so not only did they not fit they had chips at all the edges. We got several quotes for the doors, but Alfred said, "since we're here, let me get my own guy to do it because otherwise it'll slow us down waiting for the other contractors." Alfred got a very seasoned carpentry pro to come in and replace all our doors at a lower cost than any quote we had gotten. He also had his crew peel of the tiles and (surprise) an extra layer of linoleum covering the floor. Since he knew we were planning to remodel the kitchen and bathroom he also helped us demo our existing kitchen and bathroom. The entire operation was flawless. The paint made the house look like new. And he was immaculate and attentive to every little detail of the job. Now, let me be clear-- I am a very critical person and there were some minor flaws in the carpentry-- during the summer it turns out the doors expanded and got a little sticky, and the trim, well, new is new and not new is not new. Everything looks great, though, and ultimately Alfred probably saved us about $400-$500 on the trim.. so in the end, he was definitely in the right. I would use Alfred again for any painting job. They were fast, professional, and attentive to our needs. Just make sure you communicate clearly and well; he definitely knows his stuff. And if you're unhappy, even about a little thing, make sure you voice it-- don't be shy. Alfred stands by his claim that he's not happy until you are. And as it was the middle of winter when I called him, he mentioned that he'd be back to paint our exterior door too during warmer weather. It has my pleasure to have hired him. And this way, my two little girls don't have to discover what paint chips taste like.
