Sean from FDX arrived at our home within 15 minutes of my call to FDX. He provided a written estimate upon review of the damaged areas and then began work immediately upon approval of the estimate. Within a few hours, FDX completely reversed a home catastrophe into a well managed situation. Their professionalism, prompt response and work is applauded.

The problem I needed help for was this: My basement had been moldy for years, and constantly humid even with a dehumidifier. It would get some water pushing up through the cement floor in very heavy rains a few times a year. The house is 80 years old, cement unpainted floor, cinder block moldy walls, moldy wood exposed ceiling/floor joists, and in part of it, wood paneled walls. I have central air, but wouldn't use it because forced air pushed mold spores throughout house. So, without a clean basement, I also had to run window units. In the past, plenty of song-n-dance waterproofing companies came in saying I needed 10-15K of french drains in their particular flavor of Basement System. They treated mold considerations as something that just wouldn't be a problem once I dropped a huge amount of money on their system. I saw it a different way, that if I could deal with the existing mold first and foremost, and then deploy humidity and water prevention tactics, that could do the trick instead of a ton of pricey construction. My house is small, a one bathroom cape. This is where Chad comes into the picture. He came and thoroughly assessed the basement, really took into consideration my situation, which is that I may need to sell the house next year, and that budget is limited. We discussed just how frequently I get water, or don't, and what all the options were, with what degree of success possible. Chad is wonderful at discussing and answering questions. He really looked at the problem from all angles of solutions, and even potentially trying one thing, and if need be we could go back and add a sump pump. He gave me options. Never did he do the "little lady, here's what cha gotta do" thing that I have gotten from plenty of other contractors. He devised a plan, mold remediation first, then using thoroseal to coat the cinder-block walls, which would largely keep water out, while still being breathable enough not to crack from water pressure. I asked him to make sure not toxic, safe, and he reviewed options to find what was best. The floor would be painted with an epoxy water sealing paint, like what is used in garages. I told him I'm very sensitive to fumes or dust, and his guys did a very respectful job of venting out from the basement windows. The guys who work for him are incredibly nice, pleasant and hard working. I felt totally safe with these guys. They were using big equipment, foam shooting with a compressor, but they cleaned up each night, not leaving stuff around. I think this took 4 days, but we had a horrible heat wave in the midst, so I'm not sure. They were very accommodating on scheduling. There were a few spots where prior owner had ancient tar paper mastic, like a thick black substance that had penetrated the cinder block decades ago, started to show through the wall coating being applied. Chad happily and quickly came back to add more, no cost. He really just wants to be sure his customers get a good quality job and are happy with the result. He even checked back several times after to make sure I was happy with how it turned out, which I am, very happy about it. I would recommend Chad and his company to anyone looking for real solutions, customized to their needs, at extremely fair prices. I would not go to one of those basement system franchise companies to get sold on whatever system they're pushing. Call Chad and New England Restoration instead! I'm happy to say I can now walk into my basement without mold! With the sealed walls and floor, it's fantastic down there.

They did a phenomenal job. He arrived within 15 minutes of my call on a Sunday with his equipment. He was able to locate the leak and shut the water supply off. He was very polite and professional, as well as compassionate. We had just purchased the home a year prior, so we were a bit shocked. He was very calm and helped us stay grounded. He went above and beyond by helping us deal with the contractor. He always returned our calls in a timely manner. His crew was great and they were very polite. He saved as much as he could and didn't demo just for the sake of demoing. He knew what he was doing and had all the equipment necessary and educated us as he was going along. He followed up after the job to make sure everything was going well also.

Saul Robles performed the work on short notice and within his prescribed timeline.  His pricing was very reasonable for the quality of work performed.  Saul was very easy to work with and went out of his way to make sure we were happy.

My appt was from 2-4. The provider called me at 3:45 to let me know they ran into traffic and would arrive around 4:15. They arrive over an hour later at 5:20PM. At this point the tentative plans for the afternoon with my children needed to be cancelled, because I needed to start dinner. The time-frame wasn't a huge issue for me because I didn't have an important engagement, but if your company name is "On Time Carpet" you should show up on time. When they arrived the immediately tried to upsell on stain services. I am replacing the floor soon so I just needed a general cleaning for sanitary purposes, and stuck with the shampooing only.
    Breakdown of services:
1a) I have used Stanley Steamer and other Carpet cleaning companies in the past and they all have a specially outfitted van or truck with a steaming and shampooing unit installed inside.
1b) This is not a steam cleaning service. They arrive in a Jeep and have a commercial shampooing unit that they take out of their vehicle. They use your water to fill the carpet shampooing machine. (It looked like a floor sander with a shampoo attachment). In my opinion, you can get the same results from a Rug Doctor rental for $50 and you can spot treat yourself.
2a) Don't have your bathrooms cleaned before they come. If you hire them, make sure you schedule housecleaning after not before so your bathrooms stay clean.
2b) They didn't wreck the bathroom and cleaned up after themselves, so the water use wasn't much of an issue. I have just never had a carpet cleaning service use my water before.
3a) The guys were nice guys and eventually did apologize about showing up over an hour late.
3b) However... They mentioned they were coming from New Jersey and that people have to understand that because they are traveling from so far that they can't always show up on time?? This is a p*** poor excuse. Your scheduling as a business is your responsibility. In the future if you know you are traveling over 100 miles from one location to the other, you should plan accordingly for travel time (including traffic) or schedule for another day.
4a) The carpet appearance was visibly cleaner.
4b) The estimated time to try given was 4-6 hours, but carpet didn't dry until the next day. When the carpet finally dried it was hard and stiff, not soft like it is with a steam cleaning.
Overall the cleaning service wasn't what I was looking for, but I can see it working for someone else in a different scenario. I was just turned off by the lateness so much that it overshadowed the work done and the potential for future business. I wish these guys well in business but they need to take punctuality more seriously.

iWe contacted Flying Colors the weekend before Christmas when we noticed a water leak in our downstairs bathroom.  They came out immediately and provided a quote for replacing the roof over the addition to our house.  We advised them that we wanted to contract with them that day since we had already received other quotes and decided that we wanted to move forward based on their quote and scope of work.  There was some confusion about which shingle was required to match the rest of the house and so Steve came out to the house to confirm which one we needed to order.  We appreciated this very much even though it caused a slight delay in the start of the work.  I would have been crazy if the roof did not match the rest of the house!  They came to the house on 12/29/14 and completed the job as discussed in one day.  They were professional and did a great job.  We noticed at the completion of the job that the house shingles were uneven and the flashing where the addition met the main house stood out very badly.  Steve came back out to the house the next morning to see what we were not happy with and agreed.  This additional work would require a carpenter.  We provided the replacement shingles which we already had but Steve took the old paint we had for the house and had it mixed so that they could use it again.    The carpenter came to the  house on 1/2/15 and finished the job for us.  We couldn't be happier with the final outcome and would definitely use them again in the future!

The gentlemen were fantastic.  First they had cleaned my upstairs rugs about two months ago and did a fantastic job.  So I knew who to call first when I had a water issue this past weekend.  I called late Saturday night and they were at my house by 1:00 on Monday as promised.  They had told me what to do between Saturday and Monday to help with the situation.  They came in and inspected the entire downstairs and then went to work.  The carpets were in great shape by Monday night and they just told me to keep the fans running for a few days.
Will definitely use this company again.  Thanks for all your help.
