Mailbox Repair reviews in Norwalk

Our 16 home association worked with a very reputable landscaping contractor to have our mailboxes replaced. The landscape contractor suggested we visit the Mr. Mailbox store to see the mailboxes quoted and to pick out the color and lettering style we wanted. Myself and one other Association Board Member visited the store and spoke with General Manager Peter Zareski. Peter showed us the mailboxes and posts quoted along with other available styles he had available. We selected an upgraded mailbox from the one the landscape contractor had quoted. When we asked Peter what the difference price would be he told us and asked if we would be dealing with the landscape contractor or with him directly. The executive board for our association met and decided that since Peter had provided a reasonable price, we would work with him directly. We informed the landscape contractor that Peter had offered us a better deal to go directly with him.
As a member of the board, I went back to Peter to ask for a written quote so that we would have something for our business files. He had already prepared a written quote for the landscape contractor so it was very simply a matter of updating an existing document. During this visit Peter begrudgingly told me that he had made a mistake in his calculation but that since he had made the quote in good faith that he would honor the price he had quoted. I again asked to have the quote updated and in writing so that I could get him a check to order the materials and begin work. Reluctantly he told me that he would have it done by 9:00 the next day.
When I returned the next day to pick up the quote, Peter gave me the edited version of the same document he provided the landscape contractor and he had increased his price by almost $800. He explained to me that since he had to go to all the trouble of updating the document he decided to correct his mistake as well and he would not be sticking to the original quote he had given us.
The guy underbid a very reputable landscape contractor go get the job away from him and then decided to increase the price he had quoted once we simply asked for a written quote in writing for our files. I found him and his staff to be very unprofessional. in their dealings and will be recommending to our Homeowners association that we not do business with these type of people. Businesses making mistakes is one thing. Everyone makes mistakes. Peter's fatal flaw on this transaction was telling me he would honor the price he quoted and then reneging on that promise because we asked him to give us something in writing for our association files.
If you are a contractor wanting to sub out work to Mr. Mailbox beware that in our case he as underbid a very reputable contractor in order to work with the association directly. If you want to work with Mr. Mailbox directly, beware that you may be asked to pay a higher price if you want something in writing. In either case, I would suggest you be very weary of using this business.

Contractor is skilled and work was done efficiently and promptly.  Clean-up was excellent.  Contractor is professional and has a good attitude.  Pleasure to work with and will re-contract when future work is needed.

Nightmare! Just 3 days after the roof came off there was rain and because they failed to properly tarp the house it "rained" in ALL rooms on the first floor and flooded intomy finished basement. We had to move out.NOTE too Nelson Ferlander's insurance did NOT include MOLD damage (rider too expensive!) Essentially quality of workmanship went downhill from there. Very sloppy and inconsiderate workers, lots of food litter and debris everywhere everyday, frequently no showed for work, actually used my wood fence to practice on with their nail guns!stood atop my hot tub like it was a ladder and broke its cover, etc.. months went by after the job was supposed to be completed and he demanded to be paid without having done the work required by contract at that point, which was a small balance due, and he then walked leaving me with a huge mess, about 30,000 plus of work left to be done and need to redo most of his work (siding installed wrong, window drip edges not installed at all-found in pile in back of garage!,stair case post not level or plumb; all had to be ripped out and redone, portico was crooked and not secure, trim work an absolute mess, each piece is done differently, all dirty and bent by them, many new unhappy surprises still being discovered. NOTE too he did not pay his framer and the framer thus LEINED my home although I had paid Nelson for that work 5 mos earlier, also framer admitted work on rafters not done correctly but would fix it if I paid him (again) to settle the contractors (NELSON FERLANDERS) debt. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY! He talks a lot but there is nothing good behind it!

From the moment we contacted Eric we found him to be professional, responsible, knowledgeable (about everything in the home), reliable. and trustworthy. We felt comfortable leaving a key for him each time that he came to our home. He has been to our home 3 or 4 times and we would not hesitate to use him whenever we need work done in our home. I have no hesitation recommending him for anything that is needed in the home.

It went well. The installers were conscious of the underground sprinkler system and installed the mailbox without any complications.

It was a good experience, and I have no problems with their services.  They arrived on time for the appointment, completed all of the work efficiently, and did a quality job.
