    Wayne was outstanding. My "life" (personal and professional) is on my computer. Wayne responded even though it was after 9 p.m. The next day he had 2 of my machines and quickly got the data recovered and both computers 'refreshed' and up-and-running. He also made timely and excellent recommendations regarding back-up and security. Through all this Wayne was most professional and reassuring. Over the years I've worked with at least 4 other repair services. Wayne is the best.

    The tech spent a lot of time on the issue, told me it was solved, but only temporarily.  I called them back to say it had not been corrected, but did not hear back.  I ended up correcting it myself by creating a new Outlook profile, making the new profile my default profile, deleting all old data files and the corrupted profile (found info online on how to do that) and now it's working fine.

    It went extremely well. Wayne knew exactly what was need and not only fixed the problem, but set windows 8.1 up to operate much more easily than before. Wayne came to our house to pick up the computer and performed the work very timely considering the extent of the damage to the system. We were extremely pleased and would definitely call Wayne again if we should have any major problems that I couldn't handle.

    Immediately responsive.  Called me back while he was on vacation!

    Came to the house to pick up my daughter's laptop and returned about a week later.

    There was no urgency so we were quite pleased with turnaround time.  Very

    professional.  Took time to try and educate my daughter NOT to chase every banner

    ad and/or advertisement online so she doesn't continue to catch a nasty virus!

    Outstanding service and a pleasure to call back when we have the same issues.

    Estimates from other Vendors came in between $400-$600. Computer Fox did the work for $200. The Computer Fox was not able to locate a replacement Power Supply at what they considered a reasonable price, so instead they rebuilt the power supply circuit board. It has been working great since being fixed. Besides the financial savings, Computer Fox was very flexible about pickup and drop off of the projector even allowing for it outside of business hours. They always had thorough answers when I called to see how the work was going.
    After disastrous results at large chain stores looking at my computer issues, I always now first bring my computer to the Norwalk Computer Fox. They are able to do inexpensive, effective Computer Recovery and Backup.

    Don, the business owner, contacted me following my review below. He has offered to provide service on my laptop. I have not been able to take advantage of that offer yet due to my work and travel schedule.

     contacted Teks2Go on a Friday evening about a problem with my personal laptop. When I booted up the computer, I was intermittently seeing a blue or black screen with various error messages. Don, the business owner, answered promptly and I was very encouraged that they offered 24/7 service. Don made an appointment for Sunday afternoon for Andrew, a technician, to assess the problem and, hopefully, fix it. Don mentioned that my description suggested there might be a virus on the machine. Andrew arrived promptly and was very courteous and professional. He spent time with the laptop, apparently running virus scanning programs and did not find anything. I paid for the visit. Before he left, Andrew said that if the problem reoccurred he could do a follow up within 30 days of the initial appointment. He said that it might require evaluating the hard drive, which could possibly be failing. Several days later, a blue screen appeared with an error message. I contacted Don via email and explained the situation. He forwarded along my email to Andrew, who then asked Don via email to ask me to provide a file. I'm not sure what type of file it was; I had some trouble accessing it until Andrew sent additional guidance on the steps I needed to take. Once I sent the correct file, Andrew replied that he'd investigate it and get back to me. He said the next step might be removing the hard drive and re-installing it. That was on or about Nov 19th and was the last I heard from either Andrew or Don. Fortunately for me (and I am knocking on wood here for luck), my computer has been functioning alright. However, I do not know if it's on the verge of failing or not.  I have backed up my personal files on an external HD, and I'm hoping for the best. I will once again be looking for a computer service should I have trouble with my laptop in the future. A side note: I rated Teks2Go a "C" on Professionalism not because of the direct interaction (as I commented Andrew was professional when he was in my home), but because I was left "in the lurch" by the company which I consider unprofessional.

    They ran a diagnostic and told me that the problem was with the motherboard.  I gave permission to attempt a repair, they later called and said that they were not able to fix the problem.  I picked up my computer and took it home, only to find that it would not turn on.  When I called back, they informed me that the repair had ruined the chip and that I would not be able to turn on the machine.  When I asked why no one had informed me either before or when I picked up the computer, they had no answer, but said that I could bring the machine back in to have the hard drive backed up.  I can't believe that knowing that the repair they were attempting could fry the motherboard, they didn't back up my data first, let alone tell me what they had done when I picked up the machine!  I'm taking my computer elsewhere for the data retrieval.  I will never use these folks again.

    This was the first time I had used their services. I took it to them to fix it. I was the least happy with the communication and had to call a couple of times, leaving messages. But they did respond to e-mail. They ended up fixing it and they were really nice and answered my questions.
