The technicians were extremely thorough. They took their time explaining everything they did and answered all of my questions. Scheduling was easy and their dispatcher was responsive as well. I will do business with them again.

North American Chimney & Gutter Corp
We signed on for a ' special ' to clean the furnace chimney. (We do not use our fireplace). We were shown pictures of erosion of the chimney and it was suggested that we repair same and also replace the chimney cap we had with two caps. It increased our expenditure by over $400 but we had the work done. The ' after ' pictures showed us the improved chimney and the work came with a warranty.

    Flying Colors Roofing and Painters
The project went exceptionally well. Advanced scheduling with the owner was easy, and the work was performed when and in the timeframe promised. The work itself went along like clockwork. The roofers were knowledgeable, efficient and very skilled. The job moved along at a steady pace, and the end result looks perfect. I'm a fussy homeowner but I can't find anything to recommend that they could improve on. These roofers were friendly, polite, clean and very efficient. Their work is impeccable. I am very happy we used Flying Colors for this job.

When I got other quote doing similar work, i was quoted around $1500. High pressured sale and my mom is 91 years old, and even though they gave a discount it was still over $6000. My mom is very upset and I even told the man who was very nice not to pressure my mom to anything she doesn't need. After the service my mom called to discuss the exuberant price, the service provider was very abrupt and hung up on her.

    M & J Roofing LLC
Louie and his team are very professional from very beginning to the very end. Quotes were provided on the spot after Louie inspected the Chimney and roof. Very fair price with no hidden fee or surprises. No down payment either. Job was done beautifully to professionalism. They covered the bushes around the house and cleaned all the debris after the projects and left the surroundings cleaner than they were. Louie keeps saying we don't have to pay him until we are 100% satisfied. This company consists of a group of hard working people who love what they do, treat you and your property with respect. We will definitely recommend M& J Roofing to our friends and coworkers.

    Zakhar Roofing & Siding LLC
I shopped for a roofer for about a year.  I had worn shingles, ice dams, and a poor edge on a flat roof so I did plenty of reading up on what was needed and how to hire roofers.  I found that roofing jobs are risky in terms of quality and pricing.  If you want to skip to my review of Zakhar roofing, just skip to # 4 below.
    I dealt with:
    1. a company that used good processes and products but charged an outrageous amount and used very high pressure sales tactics.  I suspect some of the salesmen have never actually worked on roofs.  They didn't do rubber roofs anymore due to liability so they would only quote roll roofing for that section of my roof.
    2. a company with a long reputation that used good practices.  They agreed to a detailed estimate and they did too have rigorous practices, other than the fact that they would only replace the flat rubber roof with a rolled roof as well.  The price was a little on the high end but seemed reasonable.  I waited but in the mean time I did mention my experience with them to a friend who ended up using them.  My friend didn't like the way the job ended up.  Some problems were found and the salesman/quoter was a little carefree with adding on additional work.  Along the way, they incorrectly insisted that building codes required replacement with a more expensive wood and an owner manager had to get involved.  There ended up being a leak around the chimney in the end - but that is not that uncommon.  For what it's worth: the salesman/quoter is no longer with the company.  My friend said in the end he wouldn't recommend them so I continued to shop around.
    3. a contractor with a low price quote that left out some key details and then said  he did plan to do these items when I asked him about them.  It seemed a little too coincidental that he had already planned to do just what I asked, so I was wary.  Besides this claim seeming fishy, an internet search showed a lost/settled lawsuit and a company name change so I stayed away.
    4. After a winter of shoveling my eaves to prevent ice dams, and a minor leak, I went back to searching for a contractor and came across Zahkar Roofing & Siding on the GAF website and Angie's List.  I met with the owner, Ted Zakhar, who is actually a pleasure to deal with.  Their practices and materials are sound and the company has been doing this for 3-4 decades.  Not only do they still do rubber roofs, but Ted actually said my roof didn't need replacement right away and suggested a fix for my drip edge problem. The pricing was very fair.  I wouldn't call it rock bottom, but I wasn't looking for rock bottom work - I wanted reliable, good work so i signed the contract.
They came when they said they would, left one of our doors accessible at all times for us, were done within two days and cleaned up well.  There were _no_ additional charges.
When I finally checked out the roof in detail myself, I did have a minor concern.  Ted didn't share the same concern but did notice a torn tile and had someone come back to replace that.  My concern was about the ends of the ridge vents.  I had expectations on how they would look based on my old roof but they did them differently so I wanted to make sure it was still done appropriately.  I understood Ted's explanation that the ends are sound and I did look up installation instructions so now this is just an aesthetics issue.  I don't expect them to change it (without a charge) and it's not important enough to me to pay for a change.  I just mention it to give you the benefit of knowing that if you want your ridge vent shingles to go all the way to the eaves, discuss it ahead of time.
If I move into a new house and need roof work, I hope Zakhar Roofing is available.  I would definitely recommend the company based on my experience with them.

    Flying Colors Roofing and Painters
iWe contacted Flying Colors the weekend before Christmas when we noticed a water leak in our downstairs bathroom.  They came out immediately and provided a quote for replacing the roof over the addition to our house.  We advised them that we wanted to contract with them that day since we had already received other quotes and decided that we wanted to move forward based on their quote and scope of work.  There was some confusion about which shingle was required to match the rest of the house and so Steve came out to the house to confirm which one we needed to order.  We appreciated this very much even though it caused a slight delay in the start of the work.  I would have been crazy if the roof did not match the rest of the house!  They came to the house on 12/29/14 and completed the job as discussed in one day.  They were professional and did a great job.  We noticed at the completion of the job that the house shingles were uneven and the flashing where the addition met the main house stood out very badly.  Steve came back out to the house the next morning to see what we were not happy with and agreed.  This additional work would require a carpenter.  We provided the replacement shingles which we already had but Steve took the old paint we had for the house and had it mixed so that they could use it again.    The carpenter came to the  house on 1/2/15 and finished the job for us.  We couldn't be happier with the final outcome and would definitely use them again in the future!

It was a pleasure dealing with Steve, the owner, and his crew. For the first time we worked with a contractor who actually followed through in every way, from appointments to proposals and the work itself. Steve is very friendly and is open about his work, both in explaining roofing and our situation specifically. He provided references and went out of his way to call the shingle manufacturer to find a house nearby with the color shingles we were interested in installing. He started the work on schedule and finished on time and was flexible in adjusting the schedule to our needs. He provided continuous supervision. His crew cleaned up daily as promised and also cleared away debris when the project was complete. We highly recommend Steve and The Flying Colors Roofing team!

    Able Roofing
Chris and his crew were professional, responsive and courteous.  They wrapped the house and were punctual, working all day and through to the evening.  Chris was on site throughout the entire job and kept us apprised of any changes.  He personally installed the copper flashing around the chimney and carefully supervised the crew.  There was some very minor damage to our lawn and landscaping, and a few follow-up details to the roofing itself, but Chris was responsive and did what he could to improve the situation.
