Driveway Pavers reviews in North Haven

    Five Star Seal Coating, LLC
Only spoke through the internet. Agreed on a mutual date, I took the day off of work and nobody showed up to do the job. I inquired over email and was told that people from Angies list have canceled work on him and that he was protecting his business when I didn't respond to his email the night before. Although I was the one to ask if I needed to do anything.

    Supreme Asphalt Maintenance
I originally began using their service in 2009 and used them again in 2013. I spoke with Supreme in June & we had an agreement that they would service me this season (2016). I have contacted them numerous times & can not get a response. They have passed my name along to other providers which I do not appreciate. They should not commit to work that they can not do!

They were professional and polite. They were prompt in their repair. They solved the indentation and filled the cracks and sealed the driveway after the repairs. I am pleased with the service provided.

    Alcraft Inc
Estimate seemed high, and since this was a fall project, there was a fair amount of pressure to make a decision and commit to the job "before the asphalt plants close." Once we decided to go with Alcraft to do the job and take advantage of the 0% loan to cover the job, we didn't hear from the company for several weeks, and had to call several times to ask about scheduling. Enough time passed that, by the time the company called us to ask if the could start the job in 2 days, it was a few weeks past the date they had earlier told us would be "too late" in the season to do the job. By that point, we were so frustrated with the poor communication, and certain that the temperatures were too cold to guarantee a quality finished project, we cancelled our contract.

    Midstate Paving
Late April we started looking for paving contractors in the area. Some had fancy websites, sales people, etc., some didn't respond, but Nick, MidState's owner, was the only one who picked up his phone when we called. And he picked it up every subsequent time we called although busy or enroute to/from a job. Things like that are impressive these days. This in and of itself, told us he respected customers and would be responsive. He came on the Saturday after our initial call to give an estimate and answered our questions asking his own to clarify what we wanted. Proper drainage and overall strength were important to us as our driveway is on a hill. Nick showed us what he would do for the drainage and we asked and discussed having two layers of asphalt for the strength. We also had an underground electrical dog fence that crossed the driveway twice. He explained how they would get conduit to run underneath before paving and then they would re-hook it. He also suggested placing another larger conduit piece underneath in case we consider a sprinkler system etc. in the future.
Nick again came back on another Saturday in May with the contract after we let him know we wanted him to do the job. (His son was with him and this was absolutely NO problem). He was about 3 weeks out with jobs but estimated the first week of June , weather permitting. He was spot on time wise. Arrived at 8am and finished up by 5pm. Nick was on-site with his crew and they worked continuously throughout the day with a short lunch break. There was minimal, if any, inconvenience to the neighbors (maybe some noise). His crew even made sure our garbage still got picked up that morning and the mailman made it to the mailbox. Nick definitely kept things moving but his crew seemed happy to oblige and everyone was pleased with the end result including us, of course.
To sum up, it is obvious to us that Nick appreciates having customers and takes pride in his work and company. He came when he said he would and did what he said he would. It was far less of a hassle than I imagined it. Anyone evaluating the price, should take into consideration that a single layer would have been less expensive. Our driveway is very new but Nick made sure things were done to his standards and we feel confident that if any problems should arise, he will take care of them.

    Midstate Paving
I was very pleased with Midstate paving. I called to get an estimate, and the owner, Nick, returned my call in a timely fashion. Nick came on a Saturday to give me an estimate; his young family was in the car; but that did not have an impact on his ability to talk with me and answer my questions. I appreciated that he was trying to spend time with his family on the weekend. Nick came to the house and got his crew going to do the prep work. Nick also came back at the end of the day to ensure that the job was done correctly. On the day that the asphalt was put down Nick was there the entire day. Today we had a big rain and my sidewalk in the front of my house did not flood. This has been a problem for me since I have owned the home for the past 23 years. I made it very clear to Nick that I wanted this problem fixed and he seems to have fixed it. My neighbor commented on the good quality of the job that was done; he noted that it was much better than a paving job he just had done at a rental property that he owns. Nick and his crew were very respectful; I would highly reccommend Midstate paving.

    Stanley Paving LLC
Before paving, they removed the old driveway and some old piping that was used to defrost accumulating ice. The piping was old and I was happy to have it removed. bhtey had to remove ice defrosting piping under old pavement before putting down new driveway. This was discussed wheh the job was priced out. In the process, the pipe that led to my basement sump pump was cut. I'm sure it was in error and no one realized it until the driveway was finished and the first big rainstorm came. The sump pump piping is white and was very obviously different than the piping used for the ice defrosting. Anyone with the experience of Stanley Paving should have noticed the sump pump pipe. The sump pump was supposed to drain from the basement through an underground pipe to the end of the driveway at the street. Because the pipe was cut, all the water accummulated near my house and has caused a sink hole. I called Stanley Paving three times - they denied that they did it I(it is obvious that they did) and they haven't come to see it. I certainly expected that a reputable company would repair this damage. They undoubtedly have insurance. My beautiful new driveway now has a large water hole which will undoubtedly grow larger and larger.

    Empire Paving Inc
The entire project took two days and Empire's paving crew was all business. I was very impressed with their professionalism and getting the job done efficiently without damaging my property. I can't say enough good things about Empire. From the time I met with Frank to the time the project was complete was approx. 3 weeks.
