  • We have had an on-going relationship with Scott Whitney at Integrity Insurance for 23 years.  His customer service is fantastic.  If we have questions or need something from him, he responds quickly.  We are wedding photographers and often require special insurance for specific events or venues and he provides them for us right away.  He always looks out for our needs and sometimes even ways to save money!

  • When we had the hurricane Irene my sail boat got loose in the harbor. They are probably the largest marine insurance carrier and that’s all they do.  They don’t do houses or life or cars or any of that.  They are also a heavy duty marine lobbyist.  They are just a first rate marine insurance company. My boat was totaled and I was left high and dry.  The storm surge came through and I broke lose at high tide and it was a lunar high tide.  We had a 6-8 foot storm surge and my ground tackle couldn’t handle it and I was deposited high and dry near a drawbridge.  It could have caused my boat to tip and sink. It didn’t sink but it sustained some serious cosmetic and fibre glass damage. The propeller and some of the under water propulsion gear and steering gear took a hit.  It basically damaged and rendered it useless.  They took really good care of me and sent somebody out to assess the situation.  When my boat was put up on the rocks they sent a guy from their team and described the situation to him.  It was not something that somebody would pull of the rock and sail again.  It needed a crane and a seriously experienced surveyor to come and write up an assessment of the damages of the insurance company.  The insurance company dealt with me very professionally.  It took a little while for them to get the guy to me but I wanted to make due diligence about reporting it.  The boat is not going any where because it got put here by a storm that isn’t going to come back and it would need a crane to get this boat off where it was.   I heard from the surveyor when he was in Georgia and he had to come to Connecticut.  It took about a week to get him on premise to see the boat and another week to get the barge and boat off the rocks to a marina to do the repairs.  I contacted our harbor master who has a marine services business for some help. I asked him to get me to my boat which was on the rocks near an oil tank farm.  They were resisting me from going to my boat which was on their premises because of "Homeland Security."  I understand why they were doing that because they had to protect their property against liability and security issues.  We made it there with the BoatUS guy.  He was cooperative and informative.  My last conversation with them was asking if they sent a check to the harbor master who helped protect their property. If they had totaled the boat and kept it then it would have been their property.  Since BoatUS was not in the boat owning, repairing or selling business, they paid me my money and said that they would auction off the boat and all the property that went with it.  They gavew me first right of refusal and indicated a very reasonable bid to buy the boat back. I said that it sounded like a very good deal and I took it. Great service and minimal paperwork. I would have my boat back and get money to fix the most of it and not worry about the rest of it. BoatUS did a great job and everybody that I have talked to who has had policies and legitimate claims with them have been very happy. They are a national organization working out of Virginia so there is no person available here at New Haven to talk to personally but they have a 0800 phone number to get to a claims person 24/7.

  • I eneded up in a house I hated, paid too much for it, and wish I had not tried to cut a corner with my realtor.
