Glass Repair reviews in New Haven

B/c of the building code, they cannot install regular glass in doors. This is why the price was very high. If you're a do-it-yourselfer, buy glass (they cut it for you) from a glass company and install it yourself. It's not difficult at all.

Art's service was exemplary from the estimate to the finished job. First, he responded to my calls promptly. Within a few days of that initial conversation, he was at my home in Hamden, ready to do an estimate. He delivered that quote via e-mail by the next day. We confirmed the work date and time; and what an excellent job he performed.
(One piece of advice: always schedule your window cleaning AFTER a power washing. I'm so glad I didn't make that mistake.)
I have a 1500 square foot home, with many windows. From the attic to the basement, Art did a thorough, exact job. Not only did he clean the window glass, he washed the screens and cleared out the rails, wells, and gutters, too. He took special care to work in a clean, organized manner. I noticed he wore coverings over his shoes, so as not to track dust or debris around the house. Thoughtful. He also moved the furnishings back where they belonged, once he finished a set of windows.
I'm astonished by how fresh and calm my house feels. This is one of the best house maintenance investments I could make. Now I can truly enjoy the quality of light in my home--no small thing as the winter months roll around.
Some might think Art's price is high. I don't. For the labor and care he puts into his work, it's money fairly--and wisely--spent.

Kurt is a perfectionist, which is exactly what you want in a contractor!  We gave Kurt some photos that we found on the internet of basement ideas that we liked.  He not only was able to create each of the ideas I gave him, but he improved upon them.  He was professional and followed through on everything he committed to plus anything else he could think of to make the end product even better.
He installed a 9' wet bar with a granite countertop.  The bar has a stained glass lightbox over the sink.  He installed mirror and glass shelves along the bar back wall in-between pillars.  It is simply beautiful!  We had him build an entertainment wall that included 2 built in book cases to hold all of the electronics that needed to be hooked into the TV.  He was able to conceal all of the cords and electrical outlets leaving us with a very clean looking media wall.  He hung our flat screen TV on a wall of stacked travertine rock tiles.  It absolutely turned out stunning!  He used more of the stone for the front of the bar then ran a rope light under the granite that make the stone absolutely glow!
My favorite feature in the room was what he did with the 3 support poles in the middle of the room.  Before the flood, we had such a hard time trying to make them look like something besides ugly poles.  He boxed them in with wood, then did a custom raised panel effect with crown molding.  The poles are now beautiful wooden pillars!  He built a half wall between two of the poles that is located behind the couch and divided the room perfectly without impairing anyone's view of the TV!  If you go to his website he will have photos of this project!  You really have to see it to fully appreciate how happy this homeowner is with his new basement!
I am confident that you could hire Hoffman Restoration to do any construction work in your home and get a beautiful end product and a very good experience with an honest contractor.

Very professional and easy to work with.  We were pleased with the selection and the finished product.  The installation was done so well and when it was finished, everything was cleaned up!

They arrived on time and ready to work. The demo of the bathroom went fine. I soon learned their experience was doing house framing. After the job was done, I was left with a floor that had missing tile pieces and holes around the the walls. The flooring was marble mosiac. I have been in contact with the owner for two weeks and I am waiting for them to return to fix the problem. They did a very poor job. They are not home contractors.

A mirror that had been cemented to the wall when this house was built in 1954 had suddenly collapsed. This company did not try to sell me a new mirror but rather came up with the idea to put retainer clips in the remaining mirror panels until I can get around to having the ones above the mantel piece removed.

The install went very smoothly and the clean up was thorough, because the 4 panels did not take as long as they had estimated , he reduced the cost for around $70.00. (They were at our house for approx 3-4 hours). They touched up the paint and the windows look great- now they are not cloudy and filled with condensation - a great improvement

They did an excellent job. They arrived on time (we arranged for a day when we'd be the first customer), worked efficiently, and cleaned up well. They were recommended to us by our favorite contractor (who re-did our kitchen as well as a number of smaller projects), and we would definitely use them again. There were only two small glitches. First, the replacement double-glazed window was about 1/8" too big! (Their estimator has measured incorrectly.)

The installers immediately said that they'd re-order it and that the cost was on them. Second, both times I called them to see if the window had come in they said it had. So why hadn't they called me before I called them? It wasn't a big deal since they immediately scheduled a time for the installation. This is the reason I only gave them "B" on Responsiveness.

Brant was very professional and honest. I received great service. One of the subcontractors made a mistake but Brant (owner/contracter) was very apologetic and determined to fix the problem. Everyone coming into my house was very courteous and tried to limit the amount of mess they made. They were also very good with my cats (one of which has to be in the middle of everything) and dog. Brant worked with me to make things fit into my budget, and was honest about what needed to be done v. what I could do myself or wait on, instead of trying to push me to do more work so he could make more money. He was by far the best contractor I interviewed/got an estimate from, and although his estimate was the highest, I believe it was worth it because of the headaches I saved myself. Plus, I don't feel like I was taken advantage of (that was a concern of mine when trying to find a contractor because I am a woman doing this on my own). He guarantees his work, has very good references, and was up front showing me his license and insurance. Everything was done very quickly.
