  • When it came to choosing a pest control company, I decided to go with a smaller one where the owner does the work, rather than a big one where an employee/ technician is sent, on the theory that the owner cares more that the work is done properly. My choice of Best Pest Control paid off! The owner Andrew Galasso and his son came soon after I decided to use them and did an excellent and thorough job of treating my bedroom, the only place in my home where a scent dog found bedbugs. As a precaution they also put strips into my closet, even though there were no bedbugs detected there, and they encased my mattresses (cost of strips and encasement materials was in addition to extermination price quoted below). The bedroom was sealed for a few days, the closet for two weeks. Andrew and his son worked in a very professional manner, wcere very careful and respectful of my furniture and things in the bedroom and Andrew came back after two weeks to remove the strips from the closet. Now, 6 weeks later, no bedbugs, success!!! Needless to say, I am thrilled and would very highly recommend Best Pest Control. I also equally highly recommend Top Dog Scent Detection Services for the wonderful dog and its owner who performed the detection. The whole process of exterminating the bedbugs was far less onerous than I had expected it to be.

  • I think Tru Green is great. The last person that came here was Bill, and he went through the house, and he treated all my problems, and they're excellent, they're excellent. I've had them for a number of years, I'm very happy with them. I think in the 30 years I've been here I've had them. I can call them whenever. If there's a problem, you know, I pay for the service, and if I have any issues that come up, they come right away. Sometimes whether you know if they'll spray, if it rains, you know, sometimes it doesn't get every weed, you know, on the property or whatever. They're excellent, they're very good. I highly recommend them. They come frequently, I can't tell you how often they come, but they come frequently. I've been very pleased with them. I know when you have a good thing you don't move on to another. I'm happy with them, I've had them for many years. They will do whatever you want them to do.

  • They come by and check on things every other month. I think they are good. They set an appointment ahead of time, and come exactly when they say they will. They go thru and if they find anything they are very professional about it. They don't over do anything, and I think they are very professional about anything they do. I think their price is the same as other companies.

  • From the moment Brian stepped into our house, I knew he had more on his mind than just the exclusion process we signed up for. He spent about 2 hours going through the house to identify what rodent issues we had. I actually didn't tell him we had any issues outside of I heard some thumping in the attic (we had moved in 2 weeks prior). He took pictures and documented everything for us which took about a week to put together. That was just the initial inspection (Angie's deal).
    In addition to the exclusion related items, Brian went well beyond his scope of services to basically do another home inspection for us, identifying over a dozen things our home inspector missed, including a mold issue! Now I can't say I was excited to learn of these new issues having just moved in, but Brian went out of his way to explain everything in detail and give me comfort it was all manageable. He saw I was somewhat handy, so he walked me through the things I could take care of myself, and recommended service providers for the bigger things. He even went as far as taking care of a few things for me during the seal process.
    The seal itself took a couple weeks (5,500 sq ft colonial), including trapping / clearing the house. We had bats, flying squirrels, and mice; quite the party we were having in our basement and attic. Since the seal, we haven't had anything in the house even though Brian gladly responded to a couple false alarms over the winter.
    You might ask yourself why is this review titled bait and switch. I signed up for the Angie's deal because Thoroughspect was rated well and frankly it was very reasonable cost-wise to find out what I had going on in the attic. The bait it is you think you're getting an exterminator, and the switch is you get Brian. Without sharing all the other details, he genuinely cares about you and your family and is really there to be a partner not just a service provider. It's not everyday you're comfortable giving the keys to your house over to a stranger and his crew for a couple weeks with wife and young kids at home. As I've told Brian, I've never been happier working with someone on a real estate related project. Furthermore, he's still happy to take a call or respond to an email months after completing service. He's a wealth of knowledge and truly a great person, not just the next contractor looking to make a buck (although you should still plan on paying him as he's worth every dollar).

  • I did not use service provider.  I had a issue w bats, mice but he also said I had flying squirrels, which I did not .  While he was very knowledgeable- I felt he tacked on extra b/c of the size of my home in New Canaan.  He was personable, but after meeting with another provider I realized there were several discrepancies.  He also said I would have to wait until August to have the removal of all the creatures-this would allow the bats to breed and multiply-YUCK!  Oh, and I also he quoted me close to $15,000 -Really?

  • Working with Green Pest Management was very quick and easy. I emailed them a photo of the damage done by carpenter bees. They came out, treated for bees and left an invoice. It couldn't have been easier and the treatment got rid of the bees.

  • All went well. I placed a service call and had the owner at my home within 30 minutes - luckily for me he was just leaving another client. He came in and did an inspection of site, knew immediately what the issue was and took action to remedy the situation. Treatment was done where needed inside and the perimeter of the house. Mr. Zada was professional and courteous. And for those of you who prefer no advertising - his truck has none.

  • Had some problems with insects.  JP McHale came out to my property and solved the problem.  Plus, they provided some recommendations as to how to prevent the problem in the future.  Very professional.

  • On 10/4 2013 I received an invoice from Bug Busters, Inc. Naugatuck, CT.   I did not recognize this company.  I noticed that the bill was dated 06/13/2011 so I immediately called them assuming this must be a mistake. 
    A women answered the phone. I asked her if she could send me a copy with my signature where I had agreed to have
    them spray my property for ants.  She said she did not have anything.  I asked her to send me copies of invoices that
    she sent to me over the past two years which she is claiming I never paid.  She said they NEVER sent out invoices.
    She said they would have dropped one invoice off at my door step but that was it.
    Then she proceeded to tell me that the lady who had the job before her never knew how to send out invoices and
    this poor man is now going out of business.  She said my bill that was over two years old is nothing, They have bills
    even older than mine.  She also told me that if I would sign up and use them again they would waive this bill.
    So I either pay them $277.42 for services they never performed or pay them the same amount to spray my property and
    they would forget about this other invoice. Either way they are forcing me to pay them money when I have no
    interest in using their company. Also, when I checked them out online they claim to have been in business for 35 years and this lady is telling me that they do not know how to invoice customers. That is very hard to believe.
    I had no knowledge of ever using this company in the first place and she could not show me that I had in fact signed
    for them to spray my property and now the only way to get out of this charge of $277.42 which I received 10/4/2013 for
    services they CLAIM were performed on 6/3/2011 was to give them permission to come out and spray my property.
    Since I told her that not only did I not have any recall of using them back in 06/2011 and I know for a fact they never
    sent me any invoices until 10/4/2013, I would have no interest in using a company like this.  She then threaten to hurt
    my credit if I did not pay the bill for services they claimed were performed back in 2011.
    She was good to her word and she sent this invoice from 2011 to a collection agency called Collect Associates at 392 River Road Shelton, CT 06484.  I am now in the process of taking my personal time to try to resolve this and I have very good
    credit and always pay my bills on time and have never been in this situation before.  I would stay away from this business.
    You may get a bill 5 years from now for services they can't prove was ever performed or what would keep them from
    inflating their bill.  It is their word against yours and it is not worth it for a $300 bill.  There are many companies out there that spray properties for Ants. Save yourself the headache of what I am going through and select another company.
    I hope Angie's publishes my complaint because I would hate to see anyone go through what I am going through and from what
    this lady told me on the phone, there were many people they did this to and you could only imagine how many that was that they
    would go through the trouble of hiring a collection agency for a $277.42 bill.  Do not hire them.  Don't even call them for
    an estimate. You do not want them to have any of your personal information or you may end up years down the road getting a bill like I did.  I hope by taking the time to write this, I prevent someone else from being taken advantage of like I was.

  • This allows the bats to exit and Made re-entry impossible! Unknown to me, my neighbors nearby used the same service a few years before me and I failed to put up a no vacancy sign ;-) Oh and we were shocked to count over 80 bats leaving at sundown with only one successful return in our closed patio umbrella.  No bats seen since then though our outdoor insect count has increased a fair amount as the bats kept our property fairly insect free in the summer.  Win some, lose some!
