    Redline Moving Inc
Redline was on time and did a great job moving my belongings to a new space. The guys were great, careful and wrapped furniture with care and moved into the new space quickly and efficiently, Great experience and highly recommended.

I can't give Rob a strong enough recommendation. He is professional, courteous, thorough, and punctual. He and his team were very careful with our items. We sustained no damage. His pricing is completely transparent and very reasonable. I've now used him twice and will use him again if I have need. I recommend him unreservedly.

    JOYCE VAN LINES INC
Yelp review of Callahan Bros Moving & Storage.. Mason Ave. Greenwich, CT. This company is contracted by Joyce Van Lines. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!!! Needless to say, moving is one of the most stressful experiences you will go through in life, and it would be nice if the moving company you entrust, and PAY, to get this done doesn't deceive you and extort money from you during the process. Will Hunting (and NOT the good one) came to our home and provided us with an estimate for our move. This we understood was an estimate, and we fully expected our charges to be in excess of the $1200 initial estimate he provided. In fact, at an hourly rate of $200 with four big guys, we believed the job would get done in 8 hours. With one hour charged for driving, the cost would be $1700. However, after the movers arrived and began working, about 3 hours in, we received a call from June, the office assistant, who proceeded to inform us that the job would likely take 11 hours and cost about $2300!!! WHAT???? Let me tell you what Will and June did next.. they waited until the crew got our property to our new residence and then called us again and told us that if we didn't pay the workers the $2200 at that time, they would instruct them to stop working with all of our property on the truck. We were only 5 hours into the job for a total of $1100.00 (including the 1 hr travel). June called again and I told her I gave the crew $1600 and that Will should call to settle up with us after the move... NOPE! Will called and said we had to pay them another $400 or they would leave the property on the truck. After I reluctantly agreed, I assumed the final charge would be $2000.00. NOPE! June called ,AGAIN, and halted work and said we had to give them another $200 bucks or no furniture. Long story short, they wanted $2200 bucks and that was that. The original estimate was a fantasy, provided to us to seal the deal for the job, and then instead of being taken to our new home, we were taken to the CLEANERS!!! LET THE BUYER BEWARE!!! Never use this company and subject yourself to its abusive business practices that more resembled the Sopranos rather than the Callahans. DON'T SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS. They are clearly shaking down their customers to pay for their fancy Greenwich address. NOT WORTH THE TIME, MONEY OR AGGRAVATION DURING AN ALREADY STRESSFUL TIME. Hey Bad Will Hunting... this isn't over. UPDATE: Dear Mr. Joyce, We are in receipt of the attached. Being New Yorkers, we frequently enjoy sarcasm and smart attitude, however in this situation it is altogether inappropriate. Your letter completely disregards the cause for our complaint. Allow me to remind you of our conversation... We took issue with how your staff, subcontractors and salesperson held our property hostage on three separate occasions on the date of our move. We were told on each of these occasions that work was being halted until we went to the bank and got more cash to pay the driver, AND that until we did, the clock was running. This is completely inappropriate and abusive business practice, especially considering that we were repeat customers and were not a payment risk, as you claim so many of your clients are. That said, may I also address your comments from our conversation on Monday. Your characterization of me and my husband being, "you people from New Canaan" was completely uncalled for. You don't know us and have no right to make that judgement. In fact, on the prior move, the movers did real damage to some of our furniture, however you never received so much as a $1.00 claim from us, much less the "$10,000.00 claim for a scratch" that you claim to receive from people from New Canaan. If you can't deal with the facets of your business, then you shouldn't be in it. That said, in good faith, we handsomely tipped the workers as it was the right thing to do, regardless of how we were treated by their management. The fact that Jeff The subcontractor has five children is heart-warming, but I have no idea what that has to do with the way we were treated. For that matter, my husband and I have four children... does that give us the right to treat our clients this way? No, it does not. That said, the $300.00 settlement is no longer sufficient to settle the matter. I will not be removing those posts at this time as that was not discussed between us as a contingency. My husband and I are owed a sincere apology for what happened to us last Friday from you, Will, June and Jeff, and a guarantee from you that this won't happen to any of your future clients, regardless of what town they live in. Thank you, Catherine P

    Man And A Truck
Terrible. Lousy movers and untrustworthy people. Careless, unexperienced, unprofessional, renegs on commitments, shirks responsibility for damage caused by Man And A Truck. When I hired Robert Delgado he presented himself as a very trustworthy man and an experienced mover. He told me his was a family owned business and that his reputation meant everything to him. He quoted me $120/hour for two men with a 2-hour minimum. Sadly, Rob didn't show up and instead he sent one of his brothers and two other guys. No one said anything to me about a higher price per hour for 3-men versus the quoted price of $120/hour for two men. Even more unfortunate, the three guys disassembled the biggest piece of furniture and then had great difficulty reassembling the very same piece 1 hour later in it's new location. Ultimately, Man And A Truck caused significant damage to a piece of furniture. When Rob himself came to inspect the crushed corner of the piece, he apologized profusely, said he would pay for the repair and that we should chose any furniture Refinisher we wanted to handle the repair work. Rob even told us that the piece should never have been disassembled and that there was a better way to have moved it (wish he had actually been on the job). He then asked for payment and charged us $150/hour because he said he provided 3 guys instead of two. We were surprised with the upcharge after the move was complete since no one said a thing at the start or during the job about a change in the hourly rate. Furthermore, after submitting estimates as requested to transport the damaged piece to a Refinisher to repair the crushed corner of a piece of furniture and return the furniture to our home, we have gotten no response to numerous phone calls and emails. To add insult to injury, Rob's insurance company phoned us to ask a bunch of questions and inform us that Rob has now changed his story and has told his insurance company that he isn't responsible for the damage. We've repeatedly tried to contact Rob, but no response. No reimbursement, despite his profuse apologies and face-to-face promises to pay for all costs to repair the damaged piece of furniture. We are now stuck with a $900 bill to fix the damage created by Man And A Truck that Rob promised he would pay for. Between the surprise increase in the hourly rate without any notice, the damage to a piece of furniture and the lack of resolution despite verbal promises, we would never use Man And A Truck again. They are unprofessional and unscrupulous.

    Bema Brothers Moving
The hourly price they charge is fair, not particularly cheap or expensive. The service was very responsive to my phone call and I need to move ASAP. That is why I selected them. Two young guys came with a rental truck. Both worked hard. I have no complain on that part. However, the progress is slow because: First, they do not have any hand truck or trolley or any moving tools. Basically the two poor guys hand-lifted everything from apartment to elevator and to the truck. There are no stairs in the apartment building. Imagine what you can do with a hand truck with 2-3 boxes effortlessly in one time, the guys need to carry one box a time by hand and back and forth three times. Second, the guys do not have the tool to disassemble the king size bed. After spending long time trying different things in vain, I eventually have to drive to Target to buy a new set of tool for them. The time wasted, however, I am still being charged for it.
So the whole moving took 4 hours to complete and the charge is $500. I honestly believe the hours can be much less if the moving guys brought right tools with them. I paid the full price only because these two guys worked so hard with their bare hands.

    MHO MOVERS
This was by far the best experience I have had with moving.  The whole team was great, each guy introduced himself and was very friendly and professional.  We were not able to be there during the actual packing, but when we came home the entire house was packed up and organized.  On the initial walk through, I definitely felt comfortable in their ability as they made comments about what packing material to use for oil paintings vs. other types of paintings, what needed to be wrapped, what was extra fragile, etc.  The move ended up taking significantly longer then quoted and the owner, Mike was very fair and willing to work with us on the additional charges.  I will 100% use MHO again.

    MHO MOVERS
MHO moved me locally, from Darien to New Canaan. They distinguished themselves in their flexibility and professionalism. 36 hours before they were supposed to start loading, a contractor dropped the ball and move-in had to be delayed by 5 days. I still had to get out of my old place on time. Mike organized temporary storage for a large truckload of stuff. On moving day, the men arrived on time & worked carefully and rapidly to load the truck in hot weather. Unloading went well. Nothing was broken or scratched. I would use MHO again.

    MiniMoves Inc
The pricing was much better than we could have gotten from a standard moving company, and we just had to be a bit flexible on the date of arrival of the items.  They kept in contact with us on status and our items arrived in good shape.

    Mike The Mover
I talked to Mike De Angelis while he was on the road moving somebody out of state. He said he couldn't accommodate our move date because he doesn't do business in CT during the snowy winter.
I asked him to advise me about choosing movers and he gave me some practical advice. He is down to earth and values quality service from providers he uses even at home. He knew he wouldn't gain us as customers because of his availability but he spent some time on the phone on his way back home.
If you have an out-of-state or local move, you may want to give Mike a shot if your calendars overlap.

    MHO MOVERS
The owner, Mike Ornato, is highly professional, easy to access and a man of his word.  He was a complete pleasure to deal with.  HIs crew was similarly professional, highly solicitous of our sensitivities, and extremely hard working.  I never heard one complaint, and they seemed to greet challenging complications with a happy, can-do attitude.  I would highly recommend this company to anyone needing to to a move.
