Tree Service reviews in New Britain

They were very professional in my discussions with them over the phone. I was not able to be there during the work, but I was very pleased with how they left the area...spotless. Hard for me to rate them on the price. I knew they had a good reputation and my insurance adjuster recommended them as well and agreed to the estimate.

We had a tree that was growing up from underneath the house and they got rid of that. We also had a hole in the side of the house so they closed it up and added some siding. My dad did not like them although they were great as far as being able to work with our time table because the work was done in Maine and we live in Connecticut. We like to be there when the work is being done so they were able to pull people from some other sites to help us out to be able to do the work while we were there. So we really appreciated that. We have a hard time finding contractors that are willing to do that. We would hire them again depending on the type of work. They did not do crazy detailed work but there were some things that I would say they could have done a little better. I think their price was reasonable. We had some issues with responsiveness, but it was probably because they like to do things over texting or email. My husband and I are more phone people so we did not always get calls back right away.

Arrived day and time as planned. Crew discussed what they thought best to do in terms of crabapple and red maple tree.  Dead hanging branch was added after front yard was finished.

Crew would trim different areas of trees and involve us in decisions as they went along to insure we were happy with the overall outcome and look of trees.

Cleanup was excellent; all debris was taken away and they cut removed limbs into logs and stacked.

Major job on dead hanging branch ( 15-20 feet) to bring it down.  Could not get bucket truck into the back yard so had to use ropes and ladders to bring the limb down.  Tough job done well and safely

Contacted them to treat against Bagbugs that seemed to be getting a stronghold on the 50 feet or so of 8 foot tall trees. The technician arrived, treated with topical pesticide and provided direct root injection of fertilizer. As of now, both treatments have seemed to work miracles, the trees are looking great. The next treatment to ensure bagbugs are eliminated will be in the spring.
I am very pleased with Winterberry and all of their divisions.

Called and made an appointment for an estimate. The person on the phone was very professional and we setup the appointment. The guy called me to let me know he was running a little late as he was doing an estimate in a nearby town, but he still ended up being right on time. I showed him the items I wanted down and he gave me the estimate and let me know that if I decided to go with them they could possibly do it as early as that Saturday depending on where their jobs were scheduled (since mine was a relatively small job). He gave me his card and a written estimate. I ended up not using them as the boyfriend of my fiancee's cousin and his father own a tree service so they were able to do the same work for over $100 less. However, Bartlett was great when I emailed them and let them know I was not going to use them. Very professional and understood why I decided to use the other company.
Would definitely recommend to those looking for a tree service.

Arborists followed modified work order form. The original contract called for removal of the entire tree and grinding of the stump. As we have a fireplace, we wanted to keep the wood from the tree. We also wanted the stump left intact for decorative purposes. The stump was left for us, as was all of the wood from the tree suitable for the fireplace. All other scraps were cleaned up and removed.

Tim Holcomb came to my home within 2 days of contacting him to provide an estimate for the work and provided an estimate on the spot.  Within a few days I chose to move ahead with Holcomb Tree and Tim provided a copy of his insurance certificate.  A few weeks later, Tim and his crew came to remove the tree.  They began around 9 AM and finished by 3PM.  Due to the location, a bucket truck could not be used, so they had to climb the tree and set up a rope haul system to lower the limbs as they cut them.  Holcomb Tree had all of the equipment needed for the job, and through the course of the work used 3 trucks to haul away the wood chips and a flatbed logging truck to remove tree trunk.
It was a tough job, but you wouldn't know it from watching how smoothly the work went.

I feel Rogers Tree Service doesn't overcharge. He tells you what has to be done. He is excellent. His estimate is what the result will be. He is really great. This was his father's business originally. He is prompt also. His personnel are really professional. He will do little services for you.

I have been trying to have a large maple tree removed which was leaning on power lines and was leaning more and more every month. I could not find anyone willing to remove it, or do it right away. Finally, I looked on Angie's list and found Alton Tree Service and a few other. I went with Alton tree service because they came to my house to look at the job within 2 hours after I called in the pouring rain, they had a great price, and told me they would make removing the tree a priority and do it on the 1st sunny day. I was called the next day, Friday and asked if it would be okay if they came Saturday. I told them it was fine, but that I would not be home. I was told I did not need to be there, so it was set, Saturday it was. I came home Saturday around 5PM, and if I didn't know that there was once a tree where there was no longer a tree, I would have never known anyone had been there. The Alton crew did an OUTSTANDING job, there were not even any wood chips any where. I can not beleive how clean the area was, you would never have known a tree was 100+ maple tree was cut down and remove. Alton Tree Service is the best tree service I have ever used, and I will NEVER use or recommend any other tree service.
Thank You Alton Tree Service, Your the BEST!

As I mentioned above, my neighbor contracted these guys to cut down trees on their property. They were so efficient and good at what they did, that I asked if they'd give me an estimate on limbing a couple of trees over my house. The estimate was on point and they arrived two days later (on a Sat.) to do the work. Not only were they one time, they came about a half hour early (set-up time) so that they'd be ready to start the limbing at the time discussed. What a show! These guys are so good at what they do, it almost seemed choreographed. They work well together. When one needs a right hand, and the other's got it available, it's just an unspoken coordination-thing that it will be there for them. They are fast and knowledgeable. They explain why they've done what they've done, and why they can't/won't do certain things (i.e. throw a trees weight off balance by taking too much weight off one side; other technical reasons they will/won't or should/not perform certain limbings). They are all about clean up before they leave the property. My property was actually tidier after they left than before they got there. They used a blower to blow debris off my roof. This made me think, "Wow, it's been a while since I cleaned my gutters. I should get up there and do it this week." As I was thinking this, I looked up to see that they were taking care of that task for me. What a relief! They really do think of everything. The day came full circle when a neighbor across the street came over to ask them if they would limb a few branches hanging over his garage. I knew they'd be happy to do it, I just didn't know they'd be able to get to it right after my job was done! I can't sing these guys praises highly enough! They work very hard and are very strong. My neighbors and I couldn't stop talking about them and the quality and quantity of work they took on. It's almost like, they renew your faith in work quality and ethic. They went above and beyond for us. Such great guys!
