    Mowing - very punctual and did a nice job. Mowing was quick and a second guy went around the yard with a blower to clean up driveway and sidewalk areas. Ultimately cancelled mowing to save money but was told other services (snow removal and shrub removal) would continue. Would recommend this company for mowing only. Grade: A. Shrub Removal/Transfer - asked about moving a number of larger bushes/shrubs in our yard for two years without any quote/estimate provided. Work was never quoted and never performed. Very disappointed. Grade: F. Leaf Removal - hired for one autumn leaf removal. Did a nice job in front of yard but left leaves all along side yard and deck area that I had to clear out myself. So I did not renew these services. Grade: C-. Snow Removal: asked for driveway plowed and small sidewalk (from driveway to front door) shoveled after any storm that left accumulation. Driveway would be plowed but sidewalk not always shoveled. In addition, driveway snow plowing was often performed in the first few hours of major storms so more snow would fall and leave a coating of several inches (that I would have to go out and shovel myself). One instance, he plowed in first 2 hours of a 10 hour storm and left a good foot of snow on the driveway. In a text when questioned, he replied "I plowed, look outside". I looked and there was a foot of snow on the driveway that I had to take a day off work and shovel myself. Grade: D. Billing: had to provide card information several times for timely/accurate billing. Overall, I would recommend Hardscapes Landscaping for mowing services only. Leaf removal, shrub/landscaping projects, and snow removal were all subpar. In addition, we had initially started with "year round" services (mowing, leaves and snow). When we cancelled mowing and leaves to save money, we were told landscaping project and snow removal would continue. When we tried to confirm that we were still on the "snow removal list" before the first snow fall of 2018-19 season, we were told that snow removal is only for "year round" customers. Very disappointed to have been misled and to have to scramble to find a new snow removal company.

    I'm always very pleased with Crystal's work. She and her husband are friendly, professional, and full of good information for someone like me who doesn't know what to plant or where. I've had larger companies do landscaping for us and they were always working too fast against the clock and planted things that were not suitable for the conditions of our yard and gardens. My husband and I appreciate the fact they this company works as if they were working in their own garden. We've hired them twice and would not hesitate to hire them again or refer them to someone.

    We are very disappointed and wished we would have spent more money and went with a different company. 
    To start off all communication was done through email between Christian Plummer and myself.
    When I submitted the estimate request Mr. Plummer asked it was something they could just look at or if I wanted to schedule with a designer.  I told them they can come look at it.  I also told them I wanted "two garden beds in rear and six bushes in front" removed.  They never replied after that saying when they would be coming or even acknowledged receiving my response, but we got an estimate in the mail about a week later.  I did not even know they stopped by to check out the work. First sign of poor communication.
     When we agreed to go ahead with them due to the offering the best price, I emailed them on june 27th to set up the job.  I heard back on june 29th saying "we will be over in a week or so to perform the work"  No additional information on a date or anything.  Second sign of poor communication.
    The next day we noticed spray paint marking the areas.  However, one of the garden beds was not spray painted however the fig tree was marked.  We never mentioned the fig tree at first because we were not going to have that removed.  I am not sure how you mistake a fig tree and a garden bed..  They look completely different.  Mr Plummer's response when i mentioned about the wrong area being marked is "I was looking at the larger bed in back and the 1 large shrub also in rear. " In the original email when describing the work I said 2 garden beds in the rear.  Not one bed and 1 large shrub in the rear.  A shrub and garden are are two completely different things. I still have the emails to prove what I originally stated I wanted. 
    By june 30th we had it straightened out by email and decided to add the fig tree in for the same price.  Mr. Plummer said "
    Might do this Friday or early next week." Still no definite sign of a date.
    By Wednesday July 8th I still had not heard anything from Mr. Plummer and the job was still not completed so I emailed him asking if he is still planning on doing the job.  He responded "yes we will probably be over next Tuesday".  This was an extra week from when he originally said he was going to do the job.  I understand things comes up, but he could have at least emailed us. 
    The next Tuesday July 14th I was coming home from work around 5 pm and his crew was dropping off a piece of equipment.  Of course the work was not being done that day.  I could not pull into my driveway as I had to wait for them to move this equipment to the yard.  It was very unprofessional and seemed like a very inexperienced crew.  The guy driving the piece of equipment struggled to do so and a piece of equipment fell off and it took them about 5 minutes to put the equipment back on while i am waiting in the street to pull into my driveway holding traffic up.  It just seemed like they did not know how to even work the equipment. I still had no idea when the work was to be done.
    Finally the next day Wednesday July 15th I came home and the backyard was completed.  However the front yard was not done and they left their large piece of equipment on the side of my house.  I figured they were coming back that week to finish the front yard.  I did not receive any communication from Mr. Plummer regarding this.
    Several days when by and the front yard was still not done and the piece of equipment was still in my yard.  I emailed Mr. Plummer on Friday July 17th asking if he is planning on finishing the front yard and if they are going to remove the equipment.  I needed to mow that weekend and could not do so with this equipment.  I find it very unprofessional just to leave your equipment at a job site and not say anything.   I came home from work that afternoon and the equipment was gone, but job was still not done.  This shows he received my email, yet he never responded. 
    Finally several days later on July 20th Mr. Plummer emails me saying "I was out of the state the end of last week and the guys didn?t get the instruction to remove the 6 shrubs in the front.  I have schedule the removal for first thing tomorrow morning." Yet he was able to read my email on the 17th and remove the equipment, yet he could not respond.  Also, the 6 shrubs were in the original estimate and were even spray painted showing they were included.  I am blow away that his crew did not know to remove them.  First off he should have told them since he knew they were included in the estimate and second off they was spray paint marking that area.  Very unprofessional.
    On July 21st I came home and the front yard was finally finished.  However, the quality of work was very disappointing.  It looked like a 2 year had done the job.  There was dirt in my grass they did not clean up.  There was a piece of edging they did not put back in the ground.  There wee pieces of the shrub they removed all over.  I even noticed roots still in the ground from the shrub they did not bother removing.  It looked awful. (I have pictures to prove)
    On July 22nd I emailed my disappointed with the way the front was left and our overall experience.  The next day I noticed they came back and cleaned it up a little bit, but this time they covered the roots they did not bother to remove with dirt to hide the fact they did not remove them.  Also, Mr. Plummer never once replied to me apologizing or anything. 
    This is the worse company I have ever done business with.  I will never ever use them again.  I am extremely disappointed in the communication and quality of work.  This company has no reason to be in business and I hope no one has to face the frustration we have.

    Within the week I phoned, Crystal came to give me an estimate as well as performed the work. They edged all my flower beds, trees  and other areas as well as delivered  and spread new mulch in the areas I requested. All debris was taken away, everything was neat and perfect !

    ,We recently moved to Florida but we needed somebody to take care of snow removal while we waited for the house to sell. Granted, i was not in the state to see the results, but my neighbors assured me that the snow was being removed after each storm. We had always done our own snow removal so I don't know what the going snow removal rate is, but their rates seemed reasonable, it was around 50 for anything under 4 inches I believe and it went up with more snow.  My one small complaint is that I do not believe they salted the sidewalks/steps. My realtor complained that the steps to my front door were icy on several occasions. That said I don't believe that service is traditionally offered with snow removal anyway, but it wuold be nice if they offered it as an add-on service

    Arrived promptly and on schedule. Performed the work in a timely yet attentive manner.  He took the time to answer questions and a bit of chit-chat, as well as discussing a future project.
    I've been communicating with him mostly via e-mail. Sometimes it takes a few days to get a reply, back, but I always do get an e-ail back so it all works out, and I'm sure if I just picked up the phone I would get an even more prompt reply.
    Definitely would use again.

    Burial of tank and drainage was prompt, exact and well done.
    Due to some changes during the work, I ended up with a positive balance which was promptly returned as a check.
    A down-spout was damaged and promptly fixed and replaced by a new one.
    All follow up experiences with work such as backfill after settling, re-seed of the backfill, on-going lawn-care was as if it was a different company. Suddenly voice-mails and e-mails would go un-answered for long periods (I still have e-mails and voice-mails that were never resolved, but I have moved on). I had soil samples done and based on the results, I repeatedly ask how much lime and fertilizer he put down, but never got an answer to that question. Also, getting the first application of lawn-care was continually delayed with little to no feedback on when it would be done.
    After the initial delay of the lawn-care (due to high volume of customers), the lawn care has been performed with no communication on when it will be done or what was done (unless you happen to be home to ask the person outside.)
    To sum it up, I'm utterly dismayed at the lack of communication after the initial work and have decided to not renew any services with this company. This is really a shame because the owner seems like a good guy and the work was well done.. but personally I just can't stand un-returned calls/e-mails and un-answered questions when I'm paying someone, so for me this is a deal breaker. If I had to guess, he is/was just overwhelmed with customers and unable to efficiently communicate with all of them. This may work for some people, but not for me.

    Joe and Terri were very professional.  Once I put a request for a quote, I was contacted right away by both phone and email.  The quote was detailed and reasonable.   Once we decided to go forward with the project, we scheduled a date for starting the work.  Due to weather, they had to delay the start by a week, but once Joe got going, most of the work was done pretty quickly.   After the walkway, drainage and clean-up work was done, there was a slight delay while we figured out what new plantings we wanted, but once that was decided, the work was promptly resumed and completed quickly.  Joe worked with us to modify plans to make sure we got what we wanted.  We're very happy with our new landscape.

    I can't say enough about how great it is to work with Dave. I received Dave's name from a friend (who hadn't had a chance to work with him yet - only received a quote from him), who also received his name from a friend. I was unsure of using Dave at first. As I mentioned, my friend who recommended him hadn't had the chance to work with him yet. But I decided to take the plunge. I'm glad I did. Dave is very respectful, responsive, easy to talk to, flexible and lacking that usual and quot;contractorand quot; attitude. I know we've all encountered that before. Above all else though, he does amazing work, affordably.
    I was impressed with Dave right from the quote. The biggest portion of the job I had him do was to build a retaining wall (for lack of a better term). I've been getting quotes for a few years now on what I can do with a hill I have in our back yard that leads to a pond on the property. Everyone who has quoted me on the job has told me I need a retaining wall to do what I want and it would cost $10k-$12k. No one would ever think outside the box or talk to me about other options. Dave said right off the bat and quot;you don't need a full retaining wall - I can get a few big boulders and create a wall that will allow you to do what you want to doand quot; ... And as you can see from what I spent on this job ... It didn't cost any where near $12k. That impressed me so much, I decided to take the plunge and work with him, even though no one I knew had used him.
    In working with him, I discovered that he not only cares about his customer by thinking outside the box (even if that means he makes a lot less on a job) but he is a great worker. I am very happy with the job he did, he keeps a very clean work site, he was always accessible when I tried calling him, he showed up when he said he would, he even texted me a picture of the job in progress when I asked him to. He was also very flexible with any changes I asked him to make, not even a hesitation when I asked him. I truly can't say enough about how great this experience was. He also does remodeling and I plan on using him for everything in the future. I will never call anyone else again.
