    I saw this Doctor way back in 1995 for an acute eczema breakout. At that time, she was not brand new, but had only been in practice for about 5 years. I was pleased with the treatment back then, and my problems were solved. Now, 20 years later, I have developed a MAJOR problem on my hands, which has been debilitating. I went to see Dr Paula Bevilacqua of course, because of the successful treatment I received from her 20 years prior. Unfortunately I did not get to see Dr. Bevilacqua, but saw one of her assistants. I had 2 skin problems going on, that I just about got out during my very short 5 minute super rushed appointment time. (after waiting nearly an hour in the waiting room)  After looking at both, she sent me off to the check out desk, where I realized that she was only addressing one of my problem areas. She gave me a cream that my primary care doctor had already given me, and it did nothing for me at all. I asked to speak to her, to let her know that I already had this, and she snipped at me saying that it was the strongest cream she could give me. I got more of the medication, to appease her, used it, with no relief of course, and made another appointment for a month later. When I got to that appointment, there was a line, literally out the door, holding the door open on an extremely hot day. They happened to be training someone new at the front desk that day, which slowed things down to a snails pace with the trainee being explained every aspect of the position, and her never ending questions. The chatter in the waiting room was anonymous, in that it was the worst time to be training someone, during the busiest hours of the day, between 3-5, with humid 90 degree weather that took over the waiting room from the door being held open. Also, Being disabled, It was pure agony waiting in that line. It would have been patient conscious and common humane courtesy, to put the training aside for a bit, to get the at least 10 patients waiting in line, processed in so that they could at least not have to stand in one spot. (there were no chairs to sit in anyway) By the time I got in, to see the same assistant, I realized by her speedy and half attentive manner, that this was not going to result in any relief for me. She never asked about my other problem, and simply said that there was nothing she could do for me. I left discouraged. I since have gone to UCONN, and have been doing PUVA treatments for my severe psoriasis, which was MIS-DIAGNOSED by Dr Bevilacquas assistant. THEN, they had the nerve to send me a bill for $17 due to a billing error (theirs)!!! An Aunt of mine, and the parents of my BFF had also gone to Dr Bevilacqua for years but have since found other Dermatologists also because of the inaccurate and inattentive (mis)treatment.

    He recommended some cream that has brought the color back.  He knows his stuff.  I have seen him for over 40 years.  He is good.  He invites you in and listens to you.  You don't have to wait.  The people in the office are nice.

    His office staff didn't call me back when I couldn't get through. I called his emergency line, and he was very available. He analyzed my condition immediately and treated me. He is very nice.
