I usually go to a Nissan dealer because it's still under warranty. The guy that's there now he's really good. His name is Oscar, and he just transferred to that department. He was really good, they even vacuumed out the car, which they've ever done. It's always a little perk to me if you wash my car, or you vacuum my car! It makes a big difference. They charged me $30; it's usually like $45.

My car is under warranty so I wouldn't go anywhere else. Its an express thing for the oil so you don't have to make an appointment so that's convenient. And they do all the checks on it so they let you know if they think you need something. A price right then and they get you in if they need to. they're pretty good. They serve coffee, water, and soda and cookies and there is a television on there. And they have free WiFi so when your sitting there your not just you don't have anything to do you have some entertainment.

They are always efficient, and on time. They get you in and out. They have a nice waiting room, and a place to get snacks. The lobby is very clean, and nice. The car is always clean when you get it back too. I have never had a problem with them!

I have been using Ken and Safe Auto (formerly Saf-T Auto) in Meriden since moving to Connecticut 10+ years ago.  He charges fairly for his services and I have had to return only once for an issue (bad replacement alternator - not his fault.)  They are top-notch in diagnostics - got my sister-in-law's van fixed when her now former mechanic was unable to diagnose and correct problem after several trips and much $$$$.  Knowing my off-hour work schedule he has completed breakdown repairs quickly so I would not miss work due to no transportation.  I cannot speak too highly of this shop and recommend without hesitation.

Super fast service. I was in and out in about 20 minutes for my emissions. Very friendly and professional staff. I also go to them for oil changes. They perform them in about 30 minutes. They are a full service mechanic and will do any service you need for your car though I haven't utilized them for anything other than changing some blinkers and headlight bulbs. They always do a good job. The waiting room is better than other mechanics places with a tv and they have a clean bathroom as well.

Had car towed in after overheating-not done when promised, actually sat at the garage for 8 hrs while waiting for it to be done-told at end of job that head gasket was needing replacement and promised a loaner.  Had to contact owner as service mgr did not follow thru as promised on loaner.  They had car for nearly 2 weeks, did not need head gasket.  Replaced idle sensor with one from junkyard.

Upon return of vehicle, the idle was much much worse than when dropped off, and belts are now squealing-the fixrd the initial problem, although not in a timely manner, but the car overall is worse!

The receptionist and mechanic were helpful and pleasant, but the service mgr made promises that were only kept after contacting the owner.  Avoid this garage.

The used vehicle was very clean and in excellent condition.  When our other vehicles were repaired there, they were very professional, provided an accurate estimate of the cost, and our cars were ready at the specified time.  We highly recommend this business.

They are excellent at diagnosing problems, explaining them to me, and
repairing in a very timely way. They also warn me about upcoming problems
and keep me up with routine maintenance schedule. I've had  to use
their towing services and they were willing to come and get me an hour's
drive away from home because I'm a regular customer. On two occasions
I've gone in with small problems and they fixed them at "no charge".
Office  staff is professional and friendly and waiting area is
comfortable. Now that I've sold that car and have bought a new one, I'll be using the dealer's service for oil changes, since  they are free, but if I have any problems, I'll be back to Plaza.

I have been going to checkered flag auto since it first opened. I love Bob and Mike the owners. I have known Bob for years. He worked at another place in town and I trusted him so much over the years that when I found out he opened up his own place I was there. as a women you always wonder if someone is going to take advantage of you when you have a problem with you car. I can assure you these two men are the most trust worthy people. They will explain to you what needs to be done. And even tell you if they think its worth it or not. They will NEVER do anything that does not need to be done. My husbands warranty was just up with the dealer on his truck now he goes there too. He thinks there great guys. They are doing so well now there moving a couple streets over to a bigger place. they even work on Meriden and State police cars. Try them I can assure you you'll be very happy.

I have been going to Vals for auto service for well over 15 years. I have even bought several cars from them. As a woman, I often feel like some places "see me coming." Not so with Vals. It is a family owned and operated station and I have always felt like one of the family. They have always kept to given estimates, and have never tried to inflate what is needed. When they tell me that I won't need to get my brakes done until the next oil change - they mean it, and I can count on it. Have they always been 100% right? No. But on those rare occasions when they are wrong, they fully admit it and make it right. My biggest complaint is that they aren't open evenings or weekends. But I have to admire someone who values time with family and is willing to work a sane schedule in order to have it. Dan and Rich took over the business when there father passed away and their mother still works in the office.
