    I write today to make your office aware of the disgraceful
    business practices of Pack and Go Moving. 
    My husband and I used an aggregator website to elicit moving quotes from
    a variety of providers.  Allen (also
    spelled Alan depending on the email) from Pack and Go Moving provided me an
    initial quote of $3678 based on a fairly accurate inventory list I
    provided.  Three days before the actual
    moving date, I updated my inventory list and received a final quote of $4006.40.  The updated inventory list was nearly exact,
    and I even thought I overestimated in some cases just in case moving companies
    consider a medium box a "large box" etc.  At this point in time, I had paid a total of
    $367.00 to represent a 10% deposit on the original quote the day I booked.  Two days before my move, Alan confirmed that
    I would need to have 70% of my payment available to the driver the next
    day.  This amount was $2435.00.
    On the day of my move, the movers arrived at 7:15 am (not 9a
    like they said).  I gave the tour and
    advised of things that were staying, going, etc.  After the tour, Andy (the foreman), told his
    crew to be careful of my nice stuff and to allow plenty of room on the truck
    for each piece to avoid damage, etc.  I
    corrected him at this point to say that I had carefully packed everything and
    my furniture was not the kind that needed special attention and added space on
    the truck.
    Throughout the following 7 hours, more comments were made
    about my ?nice stuff? and how big everything was.  Talks about how the truck was almost full and
    that cost A LOT were happening.  I was
    nervous.  I did proceed to go to the bank
    and get $2500 in cash.
    Once the truck was loaded, Andy told me that the truck was
    full.  Since the truck is 3000 cubic feet
    and I was quoted $3.35 per cubic foot, this should cost me over $10,000.  My moving quote had me at 1173 cubic feet so
    again, I don?t understand the discrepancy. 
    Andy instead said he wouldn?t charge me for the 200 cu ft that his
    supplies took up in space (one would hope!) and he would knock off another 600
    cu ft (for reasons he did not explain). 
    This would have brought my new balance to $7370, but he made it an even
    $7000.00.  At this point just about
    everything I own was on his truck, and I was about to close on my house and
    move to Florida, so I was stuck.  I went
    to the bank and got another $2500 in cash. 
    We signed the paperwork, and I handed the $5000 over.  I had to request that Andy update the
    paperwork to reflect the cash received as it was not listed and implied I had a
    $7000 balance.  
    About a month later, my husband and I had closed on a house
    in Florida and were ready to have Pack and Go moving unload everything.  At 7a on ?move in? day, the movers sat
    outside of my new home.  They wouldn?t
    unload anything I own because they did not tell me I needed to have the balance
    for the driver BEFORE they would begin unloading.  I can?t think of any business that operates
    this way.  Shouldn?t I be entitled to see
    my belongings and ensure there is no damage before I pay the remaining balance?  The bank doesn?t open until 9a, so my husband
    and I sat waiting for 2 hours before I could retrieve the last of the extorted
    funds and finally get my belongings back. 
    I paid the amount Pack and Go claimed I owed, and it is important to
    note that some of our property was damaged despite ?all of that extra room on
    the truck?.
    I hope your office agrees that these practices
    are unfair to consumers and no longer appropriate in today?s economy.  I assume credit card payments are not
    accepted because of the bait and switch tactics, and the consumer?s ability to
    dispute charges when services are not rendered according to the original
    agreement.  At the very least, quotes
    should be administered carefully and consumers should not be baited into a
    drastic increase with no options.  They should discontinue these business practices

    We found ourselves unexpectedly without a moving company for our move from CT to SC on 4/27/15.  I called Easy Movers Inc on 4/16/15 to see about using their services. I spoke with Suzanne and although we could not work together for this move I found the customer service and professionalism of Suzanne and the company to be stellar.  I would recommend them and would use them if needed in the future!

    I CANNOT say enough good things about these guys and our experience with them (but since I'm trying to unpack and settle, I'll summarize). From the initial point of contact, Eric was very responsive and professional. He was able and willing to document his company's insurance and bonding (unlike several other movers who said they were insured and bonded but fell out of contact after being asked for proof of insurance). Eric provided an estimate of time over the phone with an agreed upon rate. Because of circumstances particular to our move, the job took them twice as long as they planned for and involved some very heavy and unwieldy items. Throughout the entire process, they maintained friendly and good attitudes, politeness, and professionalism. In the end, Eric tried to round down the total, though we declined and paid the amount previously agreed to but still did not pay for the first 15 minutes (they arrived early!) or the last 20 minutes (they stayed over the last hour that we paid for). These guys were great. It was by far the least stressful of many moves that I've gone through. I would recommend them to EVERYONE. I doubt they can disappoint.

    I hadn't heard from Al by Wednesday (2 days later) so I called and left numerous messages. I have a shorttime to move and needed to secure a mover asap. On Thursday, I finally heard from Al. I made the mistake of telling him what another mover had quoted me, and after talking with and quot;his bossand quot; the price increased about $1000 (but of course less than his competitor). I told him ok and to email me the estimate.
    To this day (2 weeks later) I do not have a written estimate or any official communication from this provider. I have since secured another mover- more professional and they provide nationwide service. The selected provider also gave me educational and disclosure material, whereas Manchester left me with nothing. I would not recommend this company, at least for long distance moving.

    If ever there was an event that fit the bill for "too good to be true" this was it. The only difference for me is this time there was a happy ending (and a happy beginning and middle too!). In fact, the following day I am still checking the bottoms of my shoes...

    Who could blame me for being skeptical? First of all, the owner returned my call (not to mention it was the same day). Secondly, he wanted to do a personal site visit of a job that is probably so small that it costs more to feed his family in a week. AND, he treated me as respectfully as if he was coming to move my furniture from "a mansion to a summer home!" So now my skeptical antennas are on high alert. Now add on these factors and imagine what a skeptic like me would be thinking...: 1) the owner is just like a regular normal average guy (assuming that was possible); 2) he talked to me and not the gentleman in the house who was doing some work for me but stopped to listen and chime in; 3) he was flexible about moving dates; 4) he didn't charge for mileage; 5) he didn't charge extra for wrapping the furniture (which ultimately wasn't needed because they were so careful - as I watched them under a microscope while they moved the furniture, just waiting for the tiniest corner to touch something that it shouldn't - hey, I said I was a skeptic) or moving materials; (already I'm thinking, a ha, this must be just like "free delivery" when you buy a new piece of furniture - it's built into the price but the co. thinks you're too stupid to figure that out because they said the word FREE); 6) they don't have a "minimum rate of four hours" rule - the only company I know of that is so accommodating; 7) I won't give away their rates. You wouldn't believe me anyway. Besides, I wouldn't believe it if I was reading YOUR review either. Here's the best analogy of what I feel about the cost of their moving services. Moving my piano from one town to another and a bedroom set, 2 mirrors, victrola, couch, sewing maching, and a couple smaller pieces of furniture took less than TWO HOURS! When I called piano moving companies, some wanted as much as twice the total cost of my whole moving adventure and they would only move the piano! The least expensive piano moving company charged the equivalent of over two hours at this company's hourly rate and only a few were willing to do the move on a weekend. I feel like this was a win-win situation all around. I would highly recommend this company. They are reasonably priced, flexible, accommodating, careful, and basically, the owner is just a regular guy who is trying to make an honest living providing a service that people without a Swiss bank account can afford. They don't nickel and dime you every time you turn around and it seems like no job is too small. They treated my furniture as if they were moving furniture in their own homes with their wives watching!!!

    Great move, cost half of what we expected, they were very friendly, hardworking, and professional. They didnt stop for a break even thought it was 90 degrees and 80 percent humidity out.
