My truck has been "out of service" for the past 3 days.  On Tuesday the vehicle wouldn't start. I have the premium AAA plan since my job qualifies as a "road warrior" position as a nurse practitioner doing geriatric home visits all over the state.  I first called AAA at 8:15 a.m. in an attempt to see if the vehicle just needed a jump start.  An hour later they sent a technician who made several attempt to find the problem however by the time he left the truck no longer even tried to turn over. The 2nd and 3rd technicians sent by  AAA stated that perhaps the first technician crossed the charges on the battery and blew out a big fuse. After the 3 tech couldn't figure out the problem I requested a flatbed to tow the vehicle to be fixed. I called Pep Boys to see if this was something they could fix or if I needed to tow it to the dealer. A manager told me they could fix anything the dealer could fix. The first flatbed driver arrived a couple hours later. He could not get the truck into neutral so he said he could not get it onto the flatbed but insisted that my truck didn't need a flatbed anyway and could be done as a regular tow. Having been told by the dealership that it should always be towed on a flatbed I sent the first guy packing. Two hours later and the next tow truck still hadn't arrived. I had a big argument with AAA to get them to send a different company and they finally agreed. Two guys showed up about 30 minutes later and said while they had the equipment to get the truck onto the flatbed AAA didn't tell them they needed a truck that had dollies on it - which they didn't have. As a result they said when they tried to get the truck off the flatbed it would cause the truck to shake violently and this could possibly break an axle. I had to send them packing also. Ultimately, I had Pep Boys tow the truck to their place and Story Brothers from N.B. had the proper equipment and got the vehicle their safely.  The truck arrived at Pep Boys after 6 p.m. but the manager said they'd look at it as soon as it got there. I called at 8 p.m. but he had gone for the night and the truck had not been looked at. The following day I spoke with each and every store manager who was on duty during the day. The first one assured me that it would be fixed by early evening. When I called back he was gone and the new manager on duty told me that they could not find the problem but were still working on it.  Ultimately, he called me back after 5 p.m. to say that they could not find the problem and the truck still wouldn't start. He suggested that I take it back to the dealership. Unfortunately, they waited too long to let me know this so the dealership was closed for the day. I left a message for the manager who called me back in the morning and said it was okay to have the truck towed there.
The tow company that AAA sent this morning did a fine job of loading my truck onto a flatbed. The Pep Boys manager said that he had 6 mechanics look at the vehicle but none could figure out why it wouldn't start. They did not charge me for the tow, diagnostic workup, or even a fuse which they had to send for and replace. They apologized for the inconvenience. When I told the tow truck guys I was bringing it to the dealer since 9 or 10 mechanics had already tried to fix it, they convinced me that they knew a place who could fix my truck and for a lot lower cost. They even called ahead for me and described the problem to the manager.
I was treated in a professional manner when trying to describe the problem with the vehicle despite my lack of proper jargon (second only to my computer technology knowledge). While I wasn't promised that it would be fixed today I was assured that the problem would be diagnosed and if parts were needed they would be ordered. Much to my surprise just a few hours later I received a call from American & Foreign auto telling me that they replaced the ignition switch and my truck was ready to go.
I don't know what sets their mechanics apart from the rest but after missing two 10 hour days of work (not the way I like to use my vacation time) I could not have been happier!  They were open until 6 p.m. which was great because I had to wait for a ride and my sister who is a teacher in a town 30 minutes from where I live doesn't leave school until 4 p.m. and she had to go home to feed and let her 15 year old dog out first.  It was a great experience from beginning to end with this auto repair shop. That is, if you had to find something good in having your only vehicle broken down...
I will definitely use them again in the future (Nothing personal, but hopefully not too soon!) and will recommend them to my friends and family.

The truck is running great. The initial contact with the business was good. Justin was good at explaining what was wrong with the truck. They brought out the old parts to show what they replaced. They did work with me on the price. They were fair, professional and courteous.

We've used Ron's for years. Even though we live quite far away, it is worth the trip to know that you'll get quality auto repair. In this most recent repair, they took a look, found a broken part, and quickly replaced it. We find Ron's to be honest about the cost of repair and willing to recommend  you go elsewhere when they don't have the expertise to manage your repair issue.

I had gotten an oil change at a chain garage. At that time they told me I needed to immediately replace the control arms on my car. They gave me a quote. I told them I'd think about it when what I really meant was I was going to get a second opinion from a local garage that has worked on our cars before. I immediately drove to Kensington Auto. It was about ten minutes before closing. I asked it they could possibly put my car up on a lift to tell me if I really did need to have the work done. Even though it was so close to closing time they accommodated me. Unfortunately they told me that yes I did need to do the work ASAP. The next morning, a Saturday, I had a quote from them which was $300 lower than the chain garage's quote. Two days later, Monday, the work was done. At the same time they did a courtesy 30 point maintenance inspection which I think is important because all too often we don't bother checking all the fluids, hoses, etc. It has been several months and I have not had any trouble with the work Kensington Auto did on the control arms and ball joints.

I was surprised how quickly they got done usually as you have to wait at least an hour for service like this. I was in and out in about 25 to 30 minutes. They did a great job. There was one time I had trouble with my cars filter not being put in the right way so I tried this company and everything was done the right way.

I have no complaints about Jones Automotive. They were very prompt and did good work. The price was not bad in comparison to other places. I would definitely go back to them and refer others to them as well.
